Donna Torres5 said:I wanted to reach out to everyone here who takes Valium, as I’m currently on it myself. Does anyone find that it actually helps settle things down for you? I usually take a pill whenever my anxiety starts to peak and the panic sets in, but honestly, I can't say it provides any massive relief. Do you all find yourselves taking it on a daily basis, or is it more of an as-needed thing for you?

I take it regularly; it acts as a mood stabilizer for me. It doesn't necessarily knock me out or make me drowsy, though. When my panic attacks hit hard, I find Xanax works better because it kicks in faster and hits harder. But if I'm just feeling generally anxious and know it's going to drag on all day, I'd rather stick with Valium. What dose are you on? I'm at 2 mg.

Hey everyone. Quick question for the group. I’m currently taking Zoloft + Ativan. Lately, I’ve been feeling... strange. It’s honestly pretty hard to put my finger on exactly what it feels like, but it’s almost like my brain is stuck in overdrive—just constantly racing and overthinking everything, like I'm perpetually waiting for something big to happen. I get these occasional tremors too, and this weird tingling sensation that just washes over me. Is it possible that this is all just a side effect from the meds? And if I decide to stop taking them, do you think this feeling will eventually fade away? Thanks so much.

Anyone here actually taking both Wellbutrin and Zoloft? I feel like I saw someone mention this specific combo somewhere else, but honestly, I don't have the energy to go back and dig through every single thread to find it... so please, just let me know if you're on it.😍

Hey, Sophia Moore38, I’ve got an echocardiogram from my private doctor, but if you really want it, I can shoot you a DM. It’s probably just how I was born, honestly.

If you decide to quit antidepressants cold turkey, you’re just asking for unnecessary trouble, specifically
the unpleasant symptoms of withdrawal. Honestly, what you're describing is something you need to run by your
psychiatrist rather than asking us here on the forum. It’s entirely possible your dosage simply needs an adjustment.😉

Hi, I was prescribed 10mg of Valium today along with 0.5mg of Xanax, even though I really should have been given two doses of the Xanax. I honestly don't know what to ask for because I feel absolutely terrible, and this just isn't going to cut it since I take Xanax for both my stress and my insomnia. I’m heading in for my follow-up appointment tomorrow morning, so what should I bring up regarding this sleeplessness? Maybe Mirataz? Or perhaps some antipsychotics? Please, give me some advice... and please don't just ignore me; I'm dealing with my own struggles just like everyone else here... thanks.

See, that’s the thing, though—I’m already taking the absolute bare minimum dose I can get away with. 😁

I would truly love to be able to help you out, but I don't personally struggle with sleep issues. I'm hoping someone with more experience in that area might chime in soon.

I don't really have any trouble sleeping. If I do have a hard time drifting off, I just take some Xanax and it settles me down enough. So, unfortunately, I don't really have much advice for you.

Honestly, just grab your phone, call your old man, and ask him what the move is. When you're dealing with these kinds of pills, it's better not to go rogue on your own.

In my experience, a low-dose antipsychotic like Seroquel was the only thing that actually worked for my severe, chronic insomnia.

Question:

Hey, my psychiatrist put me on 15 mg of Calixt. Before this, I was taking Lexapro 10 mg and some Xanax.
Basically, I took Calixt for two nights and woke up in the middle of the night with terrible shakes, chills, and a high fever.
I called my doctor in the morning and she just told me to stop taking the med.
That was on Monday. I still have a fever (around 100.4, so when it spikes, I take some Voltarena to bring it down). My throat is also feeling a little scratchy...

Could the fever be a reaction to the medication? It’s listed as a super rare side effect...

Well, I just got back from my checkup too. She kept me on Lexapro 10 mg in the morning, gave me 0.5 ml twice a day, some Mirtazapine 10 mg for sleep, and I asked for and received Calixt 15 mg to take before bed, which is supposed to help settle my insomnia.

I looked into that myself, and I immediately shook my head at the idea.🤷

Could be. I had a sore throat and a fever right when I started Mirtazapine, even though it's also listed as a rare side effect for that one.

Matthew Clark3 said:Hey everyone,

I'm curious about your experiences with Effexor. For those of you taking it, when did you actually start feeling a difference? How long have you been on it, and what dosage are you currently at? Also, do you find it works better if you take it in the morning or at night?
For me, I started with 37.5 mg at night for five months, then moved to 75 mg in the morning for three months... now I've just been bumped up to 150 mg in the morning, though I've only been at this level for two days.....
To be honest, I haven't felt any real improvement during this whole stretch, but my psychiatrist keeps insisting I stick with it.
I also have Lexapro and some stuff for as-needed use. Otherwise, I'm mostly struggling with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks.

I’m probably being annoying by doing this, but I’ll quote myself one more time....
Is there seriously nobody here besides some random person who has actually used this and can give me some real insight?! I assumed this was a pretty common medication, but clearly not 🤷 or maybe everyone is doing so well they don't need to hang out on Psychology Today anymore 😁

Would one or two people be willing to provide a concise breakdown of how Mirtazapine actually works? Specifically, I'm curious about its effect on sleep. How quickly does it kick in? And so on. Thanks.

I honestly don't think I can handle any more of this—it’s just exhausting. I was sitting there staring at my prescription bottle today, thinking about how much life revolves around these little pills, and I just felt so incredibly drained. It’s like you’re constantly fighting an uphill battle against your own brain, isn't it? Just one thing after another.

Maybe this will help.
I was on it for about three weeks and ended up with terrible insomnia—it’s just so overstimulating, at least in my experience.
