Man, watching this movie actually made me feel physically nauseous for a second there... I honestly only sat through it because of Jennifer Carpenter, who I usually think is great, but she was just incredibly unoriginal here. The whole thing feels so forced and fake, it completely kills whatever vibe the original [REC] had—you know, that raw energy and grit that made the first one so good... I keep telling myself I’m done with these mindless American remakes of high-quality European or Asian films, but I always end up being a sucker and giving them another shot, only to be let down even harder every single time...

I really wanted to like this movie (and be genuinely spooked by it, obviously), but it just wasn't there. 😁Let there be a drought of horror movies...
But it just isn't. I didn't feel any tension at all—probably because of the REC 2 influence—and I just couldn't get into it. That’s a fatal flaw; you can't make a movie like this without making the audience actually care.

In my view, the original is a hundred times better—Quarantine is basically just a carbon copy of the original. p.s. the only thing is, the actress is actually better than she was in the original. 😉

For those who aren't up to speed, the whole outbreak was actually triggered by that guy from Boston. You know, like that urban legend where they were doing a census and discovered some guy from Boston living up in an attic whom nobody had actually seen in ages?

That scene where the woman is frantically running around searching for her keys while the guy just stands there totally stone-faced, filming the whole thing and cheering her on Come on, come on, hurry up!
I mean, seriously? All those police pistols and that submachine gun from the white guy—none of it actually gets used for anything.
And then there’s that part where he’s being so incredibly naive, looking for that girl and going over to pick her up, but she’s literally drooling everywhere with those zombie eyes...

What an absolute crap movie.

I didn't catch the REC version, just this one, but if REC was anything like this typical zombie garbage, there’s zero chance I’m watching it. Honestly, I loathe anything even remotely connected to zombies; there are just way, way, way too many of those films out there. There was a time when they actually creeped me out, a phase where I thought they were fun to watch, a phase where they were just funny to me—but we're currently in the phase where movies like this and shows like Dead Set make me want to pull the plug. As soon as that first zombie shows up, I'm done. I'll fast-forward to the end just to see what the hell the concept was, otherwise? Stop. Eject. Total BULLSHIT.

Total garbage movie. It’s not even scary—honestly, it’s almost unwatchable because they went way too hard with the shaky camera work. As if that makes it more convincing or, you know, "scary," yeah man, ooooh my goood!!! Like, seriously, give me a break! Just a bunch of clueless Americans. What was the point of even making that? And that whole REC thing is just the same crap; it's only "better" because people are sick of the usual Hollywood trash, so they flock to the theaters to watch the exact same recycled garbage over and over. Idiots! All of them. Just like those reality horror shows, they're all just bottom-of-the-barrel trash... I mean, Cloverfield is alright, I guess, but everything else—from the Tony Blair-style Blair Witch project nonsense all the way down to that idiotic Diary of the Living Dead... a total DISASTER!! 👎

So, I just finished watching the movie Quarantine last night. I have to say, I really did enjoy the experience of watching it, though I must admit I’m feeling a bit conflicted about how things wrapped up. It leaves you with such an unexplained ending, doesn't it? Specifically that one scene where the news reporter is slowly crawling toward the camera on the floor, and then—bam!—she's suddenly yanked into the darkness... it was quite startling. Also, I found myself wondering about that character who killed the cameraman and likely that woman at the very end; he seemed quite peculiar to me because his behavior didn't really align with how a typical zombie would act...

I just happened to stumble upon this on a new channel earlier. I accidentally flipped over to this junk TV right as it was starting, scanned the description on the guide, and decided to stick around because I’ve always been into this kind of genre. I see people mentioning here that this is actually a remake. I had no idea—not about this version or the original—so this is my first time seeing it.
I think I'll track down the original too, just to see how it compares.
As for this movie, I actually really liked it! I got totally sucked into the plot, and the atmosphere was great—definitely creepy. The cast was solid, too. There were a few little things, though—some logic gaps or naive moments that didn't sit right with me. For instance, when that little girl runs off, and then they decide to go looking for her and give her a pat on the head like she's some lost puppy, even though they know she isn't herself because of the infection.🙄And stuff like that...
Overall, it's a good flick. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the whole outbreak started, though. I remember that first infected lady from the beginning, when they first enter the building and check out her apartment, those rats that someone was apparently "breeding," and that sick dog that got taken to the vet and ended up infecting everyone there... hmm.
The ending wasn't quite my cup of tea, either. I wasn't expecting everyone to just drop dead, leaving everything feeling somewhat unresolved...😁

I actually prefer the American version over the original. If my memory serves me right, everything else is identical, and I honestly couldn't pinpoint any real distinction... 🤷 okay, aside from how the "infection" is handled, the rest feels like I'm watching the exact same movie

Yeah, they copied the whole thing.

It isn't bad, but the original still hits harder for me...

I caught a screening last night. It was alright, I suppose... though certainly nothing groundbreaking or particularly gripping...

I wasn't a fan of REC, and honestly, this one didn't do much better—there was zero tension, just constant predictability. I sat through the whole thing feeling completely indifferent; I didn't feel even a flicker of fear (even though I was home alone in total darkness)—which I suppose says everything you need to know about REC and this remake.

I caught a quick glimpse last night and man, they literally ripped off every single scene 🤦

I caught a screening last night, and honestly, it was such a great movie, even if the opening was a total letdown... I went in with high hopes, but overall, it actually holds up way better than most of the horror flicks I've sat through over the last few months🙂
