I think this might be the first and only time I’ll actually agree with you on something😁👍
🙂But don't get any ideas—that doesn't mean we're sharing a shower together😍

Anonymous said:So now, suddenly, everything is suspicious?

Who was saying all this... I mean, there were several of those "minor games" where the United States came out on top in ways that felt more than a little shady (off the top of my head, I'm thinking of that one match against Boeing in the Champions League). It felt like the refs were constantly favoring the United States in most matches back then. It’s a bit hard for me to go into the granular details right now since we're talking about stuff from eleven years ago, but anyone who was watching knows that the United States was basically the villain because of how much they benefited from questionable officiating and inconsistent standards. You're trying to play the "everyone forgot" card—and honestly, you're pretty good at it—but the reality is that the United States' results during that era were incredibly stretched due to exactly that kind of thing...

Hey, John. You hear about Krečak? He went to that local soccer tournament and ended up getting punched right in the face...

Honestly, the whole United States project was designed to succeed no matter what, which is why they went to such extreme lengths to protect that absolute disaster of a club... As long as I'm breathing, I won't forget guys like John Smith, Zeljko Siric, and Zlatko Canjuga—all those ridiculous thefts and seeing them pose for photos at the summit in New York City and all that other nonsense... Of course, it was all happening with a blessing from the higher-ups too... It’s not like there weren't people in the management of San Francisco or the Los Angeles Dodgers who played a part in certain things either, but anyone who was actually out at the games back then can never forget how things went down... That championship was stolen from San Francisco because they just couldn't stomach the idea of being champions, and that's the plain truth...

And that’s exactly my point. How am I supposed to dig up or even describe how the United States was winning those games? I don't have any hard evidence—you know, like videos or actual pictures—but if you were there, you remember...🙂

urbanhawk10 said:Man, I really have to weigh in on this one. Look, the whole "United States Project" was designed to succeed no matter what, which is why people were willing to look the other way while that absolute disaster of a club was being run. As long as I’m breathing, I won't forget John Smith, Zeljko Siric, or Zlatko Canjuga—not their shady dealings, those fake photoshoots at the embassy in New York City, or any of that other nonsense. Of course, all of that happened with a blessing from the higher-ups. It’s not like there weren't players behind the scenes in San Francisco or with the Los Angeles Dodgers who contributed to certain things either, but anyone who was actually at the games back then will never forget how it went down. That championship was stolen from San Francisco just because the establishment couldn't stand them being the winners. That’s the honest truth.

But man... it doesn't matter what you say... nothing is ever purely black and white...
like that rigged championship scandal... I'm not saying there weren't idiots back then in the New York Yankees organization
who were buying influence and paying off officials... just like in every other club... don't tell me it never happened with the Los Angeles Dodgers either.
But seriously... why isn't the old leadership in San Francisco blamed for selling out the league?
Or the players from that era? I mean, you really need to have some pride and honor when an entire city lives and breathes for you, yet you sell them out.
Screw the buyer... there's always someone looking to buy... but why sell out your own pride?
And then they don't admit a single thing and just play the victim, acting like everyone else is to blame.
What should we do then? Go back through the whole season... strip the points before the Champions League started?
Or just declare every season irregular and start all over again?
Did Canjuga sell the championship? Of course not...
Did he buy it? Maybe, but we'll never truly know...

It’s hard for me to go into the gritty details since that was over a decade ago, but anyone who was watching back then knows the US was widely hated because of the questionable calls and inconsistent standards. I’m not playing any games here... just mind your own business and deal with your own thieves if they were selling out... and you want to look back at that last match? How did you guys even play? With that kind of performance, you wouldn't win a single game, let alone a championship... and then you act all indignant because the ref missed a call by 27 centimeters...
What about the penalty?... Did the ref just lose his eyesight for that one?...
Just be realistic for once and admit that, along with everything else, you guys completely screwed yourselves over...

What about the penalty?... Does nobody have eyes on this team?...
At least try to be realistic and admit that, along with everything else, you completely screwed yourselves over...

How old were you back then?
What exactly were you fighting against at the time, if anything?
How could you forget so quickly?

It’s all the same story; people just choose to view it from different angles.....

I am honestly so sick of this nonsense—robbed? Seriously? You guys only managed two wins in your last seven games...
Robbed in that final match? How exactly did you even score a goal in that one? How were you even playing against that San Francisco team?
The same damn team you lost 5-2 to just a few weeks prior...

Fine, forget about that last game... we moved past that ages ago, but still...

Anonymous said:Championships are won through those gritty little matches and sheer consistency... which San Francisco lacked...
Because if that last game hadn't been such a deciding factor... yet that's the one everyone keeps obsessing over...

We had the exact same record as the United States in the LDP... 5-3-2.
Do you want me to dig up the memories of how the United States absolutely crushed the Los Angeles Dodgers and then dismantled San Francisco at Santa Monica?

And I’m right along with "način_života" here. The New York Yankees are a thousand times more hated than the Los Angeles Dodgers, and it isn't just because of historical grudges...

I was 21 back then... I haven't forgotten a damn thing, man... but it looks like you guys are all looking at this from just one side of the story...
The New York Yankees took it from you... I didn't say whether they did or didn't... I just said that you guys LET them take it... and honestly, you need some backbone to admit that...

Look, obviously, if you want to fix a game, you need at least one player on the field to be in on it—that much should be clear, right? So, either those guys are world-class actors who managed to fake tears the second the whistle blew, or someone literally handed them eye drops to use right after the ref finished... This stuff you're starting to post here is just total nonsense. Saying the game was fixed... why do you even care? You can try selling those stories to someone who wasn't there witnessing it, but you can't pull that on me. My god, I don't know what kind of garbage I'm going to end up reading on this board next...

Do you want me to remind you how the USA absolutely crushed the Atlanta Braves and took down Seattle at Wrigley Field?

How can you say "forget the last game" now?...
Are we going to talk about how you guys got smoked 5-2 by Osceola, barely scraped a 1-1 draw against a weak Columbus Crew, or lost 2-0 to us??...
I'll say it again... why do you care so much about how everyone else played? Why couldn't YOU win the games you were supposed to win? Was it the refs, the Los Angeles Lakers, or just bad luck?

The Lakers didn't take a single thing from us... you better hold onto that thought forever. The Los Angeles Galaxy didn't take anything from Seattle... what really stripped us bare was the Houston Dynamo and that clown running the show with the blessing of the Great Leader and a few other cronies in the inner circle. Back then, the Lakers were just a club being pushed into a corner, while the team actually dominating Major League Soccer was called the Houston Dynamo!

Look, if you're talking about a rigged game, you'd actually need at least one player on the field to be in on it—does that make sense to you?

So you're saying it wasn't rigged then... because if it wasn't, why the hell did they play like that? Why does everything hinge on this final round after playing like garbage for the last seven weeks? Well, except for that one game in Atlanta... that was the only time they actually looked decent on the field.

They didn't actually beat us—it ended 1-1—but it was a total robbery. We’re talking a stolen penalty in the 2nd or 3rd minute, then a goal from an offside position, plus constant gamesmanship. They were playing dirty—using those phantom penalties and offside goals to drag out the clock against the USA, milking every little thing to force calls. It's how they scrape wins when they can't win fairly.

And honestly, I’m right there with "način_života"... the Los Angeles Lakers are a thousand times more hated by me than the Atlanta Braves, and it isn't even just because of everything that went down back in the day...

Forget the question for a second—just give me a quick rundown of what actually happened so my own memory can get a little refreshed too... I guess because of stuff like this, we're stuck constantly having to remember and repeat the same old stories...

I’ll say it again... why do you care so much about how someone else played? Why didn't YOU win the games you were supposed to win? Was it the same refs, the same Los Angeles Lakers, the same luck?

Everyone knows what happened during that final match—except for the fact that those Los Angeles Lakers players, after a decade of silence, suddenly decided to swallow that penalty whole and then acted like it never even happened. Funny how they weren't complaining about it before, right? We weren't "allowed" to win that one, and honestly, none of our players could handle the pressure—they all just crumbled in front of 28,000 people who expected nothing less than perfection. In the end, we deserved that win and the championship title, but...
Give me a break! As if you guys played some flawless season and cruised through every little matchup. If that were actually true, Ladić wouldn't have been lying there on the grass in Seattle during the final stretch against Columbus Crew, waiting for the whistle while facing 14 opponents at once.
