I get why you're all pissed off or whatever... but honestly... you just didn't take it...

So you think we won it and then it got snatched away? Man, you're acting just like those people from the South—suddenly nothing exists in your memory. From what you're saying, it sounds like we basically robbed ourselves of that title. You're tripping. I was only 11 back then, but I remember those games like they happened yesterday. The whole country was watching. If we had scored ten more goals, they probably would've found a way to cancel the whole thing anyway. How can you not see that???

I get the anger, or whatever the hell this mood is... but honestly? You didn't take it. You just missed your shot...

Just a little something for you, my friend, Giza

We didn't even have a shot at anything... honestly, what Cleveland pulled off back then was nothing short of a miracle, especially considering how much the refs seemed to be favoring the home team favorites in America. You’re still living in some sort of fantasy land, I guess... so I think I'll just bow out of this pointless argument with you...

Edward Hernandez332 said:Everyone knows exactly what happened during that last game, except for how the LA Lakers crew suddenly decided to swallow that penalty and then acted like it never even happened—funny how you didn't mention it before. We weren't supposed to win that one, and honestly, the sheer nerves from our players didn't help; they just crumbled under the pressure of 28,000 fans with massive expectations. At the end of the day, we deserved that win and the championship title, but...
Give me a break, as if you guys played flawlessly all season or cruised through every little match. If you had, Ladić wouldn't have been lying there on the grass in Seattle during the final stretch against Boeing, just waiting for the whistle.

That’s exactly what proves the robbery most... I mean, why didn't the LA Lakers just crush Boeing 5-0 and call it a day?
Why pray that you don't score?... Because that's not how fixing or rigging works... nobody can guarantee those guys won't score, even if it's just a lucky break...
The goal you actually managed to score will haunt the assistant ref forever... but man, there are plenty of those shady characters in pro sports.
And who was going to guarantee the LA Lakers wouldn't slot one in from a free kick—the kind of goal nobody can take away from you?
I'll admit, we played like absolute crap... but damn, you guys weren't exactly shining either, and you should have been... you definitely could have, because in my opinion, you were playing the best football in the league back then.

Of course you could have... if you'd grabbed just one more win from those smaller teams, nobody could have touched you... if you'd secured that final victory, you would've been untouchable...
But hey, it's way easier to point fingers at someone else than to actually look at how you played during those final games of the season...
And just throwing points away left and right...

If you head over to YouTube, there’s footage from the stadium when it ended in a 1-1 draw—you know, the usual mess where the USA scored from an offside position and the Kansas City Chiefs were robbed of a couple of penalties. Just typical.
Back in Seattle, Kozniku basically pulled a kung-fu move on Višković in the fourth minute—broke him down completely—and the ref didn't even blink. Nothing. Then they just walked away with a 2-0 lead on a sucker punch. Later on, Sokolovo was actually trying to argue that you don't give out red cards for those kinds of tackles if they happen right at the start of the game. Seriously? 🤣🙏

If you'd only scored one... a clean one... the kind you couldn't dispute even from an airplane...
forget about ten...

Well, then none of our leagues are clean... ever since the American league started, it’s always been rigged for either the LA Lakers or the Kansas City Chiefs, or against them... damn, I guess people do the same thing abroad too...
But hey, you win the championship by winning the head-to-head matchups, right? Just look at how well that works for the Kansas City Chiefs... they're loaded with trophies... the second they beat us once or twice...

Sure, they could have. If they were playing like today's FC Barcelona, maybe they would have—but there's a flip side to that, too; if they had, someone probably would've dug up some shady excuse just to hand it over to you. Why try to rewrite history when it’s impossible? You can try to gaslight the generations who were still in diapers back then, but for those of us who were active fans at the time, it feels like it happened just yesterday. It’s almost funny how Zoran Krecak—a guy who is a die-hard LA Lakers fan—suddenly felt the urge to become a monument to liberty right at that moment. You don't need to be a conspiracy theorist to see how perfectly everything was rigged. If the New York Yankees had their title stripped, I don't see why it couldn't happen in the USA and be handed to Seattle instead—it's the only way to right the wrongs, and there are plenty of witnesses to prove it.

Yeah... you know what those kinds of goals look like?... the kind where even divine intervention can't undo them...
But let's be real here... who was actually going to spot a 27 cm difference?... You? Me?...
Nobody could tell until that 3D reconstruction came out... and when was that? ...Last year...

Classic. Once you actually prove to a guy that his club was getting cheated, he just pivots to claiming IT'S TOTALLY NORMAL because apparently everyone else is cheating too. 🤦 🤦 🤦

And I’d be the first one shouting that the championship was rigged... and that Seattle stood no chance against the establishment...
You can't fight back against a lobby or a fixed system...
But since history tells a different story... we know Seattle actually had the power... and they didn't need to play like FC Barcelona... they should have swept both Boeing and Osijek... just imagine with that squad, how could they even lose?

why pray to God that you guys won't score?... because honestly, that's not how buying games or fixing things works... nobody can ever actually guarantee that these guys won't find the net, even if it's just some fluke goal...
that one goal you did manage to score... well, that's going to haunt the assistant coach forever... but then again, you find shady characters like that everywhere in pro sports, it's almost a given at this point...
who could have looked the LA Lakers in the eye and promised they wouldn't score on a free kick, especially when those are impossible to stop once they're set up...

Look, man, it wasn't the USA that bought that last game, it was more about "incentivizing" the Osijek players with cold hard cash provided by Mr. Ćiro Blažević—who showed up personally to Manhattan with a promise of a trophy if they completed their "mission." Nobody could have guaranteed that Seattle wouldn't pull off a win, but they missed their window and that's that... story over. Even now, I still maintain we should have absolutely demolished them, but the players just mentally crumbled during that match. The only exception among those poor Osijek souls is Mr. Borimir Perković, who has always been, and will always be, a true gentleman.

Incentivized the Osijek players? Please... that's the same old story with Mamić and the LA Lakers, always playing favorites... honestly, the LA Lakers have played way better ever since Mamić started handing out those huge bonuses...
they could probably even take down FC Barcelona at this rate...

If they had just beaten the USA at home instead of getting crushed 0-2, there would be a massive outcry—not even counting those draws against Boeing or the blowout loss to Osijek.

...what kind of football are you even watching? One where refs don't favor the big-budget teams? That doesn't exist... and there's no league like that out there...
By that logic... either scrap the whole thing or cancel every single championship in the world...
