Jonathan Grant2 said:Honestly, it’s been driving me absolutely insane lately how nobody seems to take me seriously as a pregnant woman... or honestly, just as a person at all. Like, my servers at the restaurant treat me more like one of the gang than the actual boss. I’ll tell them fifteen different times to switch up the playlist—or I'll just go ahead and do it myself—but fifteen minutes later, they’re right back to their old habits. And then you’ve got these older folks sitting out on the patio, trying to enjoy themselves, while the music is just thumping away like crazy. It’s so disrespectful. I’ll ask them to go clean the restrooms, and instead, they just sit there and light up a cigarette.😠
Look, I’m not really the type of person who wants to go around barking orders and playing drill sergeant just to keep order, but if I’m the one paying your wages, and I’m being fair to you by giving you perks that literally no other boss would ever dream of allowing, then for heaven's sake, just put in some effort.🙄
Just yesterday, this waitress was opening up the cafe in the morning, and I sat down at the counter for a second just to clear my head and catch my breath, and she actually sits right down next to me and asks me to make *her* a coffee.😲

..well, I think you should tell them that people are sitting on the patio who aren't enjoying their music choices, and that they shouldn't undo what you've already set if they can't realize on their own that the vibe isn't right..plus, the bathroom shouldn't be filled with cigarette smoke. They can sit down once their work is actually done! As for the whole coffee thing, maybe you should have asked her: "Should I just take over your job so you can go find something else?" ..you guys can be perfectly nice, but people still need to know who's in charge... I used to work in service and I'm still on great terms with all my old bosses, but everyone knew that if I messed up, I'd have to deal with the consequences... you just have to explain that to them, and don't worry, they won't hate you or anything.. you've gotta show a little backbone! 🙂

Laura Booth6 said:Maybe he just meant is the baby active, you know, kicking hard and moving around and all that.. 🤔

At least that would have been my first thought.. 🙂

😁 😁

I feel the same way sometimes. I'll start yelling, "I'm pregnant!" just to get someone to bring me this or that, basically just to remind them in case they forgot. 😬

Honestly, being pregnant has become my excuse for everything 😁

But what gets on my nerves most is the constant peeing. Getting up twice a night because of it, the waking up... I hate going to the bathroom! 😠

God forbid I go overboard on watermelon in the evening (since I absolutely love it), then I'd probably need a cup right next to my bed.

Yesterday I polished off over 4 pounds of watermelon, and today I only had to get up three times. 🙂

..it crossed my mind too, but he was seriously asking if the baby was alive... because I answered him by saying, "Of course it is, it's kicking like crazy!".. and he just goes: "Ah, so you feel it regularly, okay good!" ..honestly, it was like he thought I was some kind of idiot... he's always been a bit of a character, thinking he's the smartest guy in the room who knows everything, so I guess he was just trying to act smart again.😠

Stupid questions. Like, people who start by asking how I am, only to immediately dive deep into my business and ask, "So, what does he actually do?"
🤦
I mean, what do I DO? I'm studying quantum physics, for God's sake—maybe I'll compose a symphony later... like some kid in a sandbox, what on earth would she be doing?!?!?

So, I showed up to work yesterday, trying to get through my to-do list, when a coworker walks up and just asks me, "So, did you have the baby yet?"... Yeah, well, turns out the kid
is right here under my desk

It blows my mind too.😕 I feel like I’m constantly getting hit with stuff like, "Is the baby kicking yet?" or "Has the baby arrived?"... I seriously have no clue where people get these weird ideas from. 🤷

🤦

And it honestly gets under my skin so much when people just hover around my midsection and chatter away like crazy... especially since I'm only about 14 weeks along, so there isn't even anything to talk about yet. 🤷

Anyone actually smart left in the building at 3 PM? Or is everyone just coasting until the clock hits five?

This whole obsession with Doppler is just pure nonsense—honestly, if you ask me, it’s nothing more than a relic from back before we had decent ultrasounds. It’s that awkward middle ground where you can’t even hear a heartbeat during a checkup, and you're basically left waiting until you actually feel those first kicks just to be sure everything is actually moving. Kind of a nerve-wracking way to live, right?🙄
Whatever the excuse is, the question itself is just plain stupid—and honestly, pretty gross. Luckily, I only had to hear it from some clueless, old-school busybody (yeah, my mother-in-law). Everyone else around me seems to have more than two brain cells to rub together, thank God. Otherwise, I probably would’ve bitten someone’s head off by now.

Seriously... just yesterday, some guy I call a friend (who I actually can't stand, by the way) went ahead and rubbed my stomach, and I’m barely even 14 weeks along😠

I've never been a big fan of being touched, and honestly, the whole idea of people rubbing my belly during pregnancy makes my skin crawl. But nobody has even dared to touch me yet, and then this idiot just goes for it without a second thought😲 I mean, come on—my bump is barely starting to show, I can't even feel the baby moving yet, so what gives him the right to just reach out and grab my stomach like that!

Yuck. This stuff used to drive me insane back when I actually gave a damn about what people thought. It's always these crazy, totally weirdos—not even anyone close to me—just reaching out with their hands straight for the stomach. Now? I just move. No hesitation. Just a sharp step back and they're left waving their hands at thin air. Then I tell them, "Don't touch me, I don't want to be touched." Just back off, everyone.

This one caught me completely off guard. I honestly never saw it coming, and clearly, I need to watch my back from here on out. As far as anyone else goes, nobody knows I'm pregnant—not even beyond my parents and a couple of close friends—because we dealt with some complications early on. There is zero chance anyone besides my mom or maybe my best friend will even touch my belly, and even then, only once the baby starts kicking enough for them to actually feel something.

Honestly, I'm glad I've started developing a tolerance for this kind of garbage—it's basically practice for when I have to snap at those nosy neighborhood busybodies trying to hover over the stroller. It's gonna be a total showdown. 😈

Yesterday, I was heading out to grab my stroller and taking the trash to the bin when this neighbor starts unloading her little one from the car and asks me, "How much longer do you have left?"
I told her, "Oh, about three weeks until the due date."
She goes, "Ooooh, wonderful! We'll be sure to keep it down at night once the baby arrives!"🙂
Yeah, right, I just said, "Sure."
And then
I get back in the car and tell my husband, "Who even is that woman? I've never seen her before," and he's just like, "I don't know either."
Now I'm sitting here thinking, once I actually have the baby and we start going for walks,
what if everyone starts hovering around us? Grrrr...
I really don't like it.
Up until now, I haven't really had much contact with the neighbors—honestly, I barely know some of them—but suddenly everyone thinks they have something to say about my business. Please!

Oh, honey, you better get used to this... personally, I think it’ll always be irritating! Isn't it just incredible how people assume you become public property the moment you have a child? Then comes the interrogation: Is the baby sleeping? Is the baby eating? What's the name? Is it this or that? And then the commentary begins... and once the little one grows up just a bit, everyone on the subway or out on the street starts questioning the child about their name or if they go to preschool, expecting both of you to engage with them! It's usually the older folks who start bringing up their own grandkids and talking about them incessantly... I absolutely loathe small talk, and it truly gets under my skin.... just leave us alone!!!
(Personally, I tell people I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl yet, and that we haven't decided on a name, just to shut down those inquiries...😁 and I nearly died laughing when some woman on the bus started asking me what my first pregnancy symptoms were, telling me how she's constantly feeling like she needs to pee and that her period is two days late, asking me if she might actually be pregnant too!🤣🤣)

At least nobody tried touching my belly, thank goodness!

Wait, seriously???
You could have just pointed her toward Reddit.
We have some neighbors out here—total rural vibes—and we aren't even close with any of them.
It’s just a quick wave if I see them at the local Target or something; I wouldn't even realize they lived next door.
And now they’re making all this about me, like 🙄
I totally hate this too, especially once they start poking around town, the park... ugh.

It’s honestly driving me crazy how much of a total klutz I’ve become during this pregnancy 😠
I feel like I'm getting messages about my symptoms non-stop—the bloating is constant, my digestion is a mess, my stomach is cramping, and my back? It’s absolutely killing me. Every single time I try to sit up or get out of bed, I get this sharp, stabbing pain in my lower right back that’s so intense I actually have to limp 🤦
And don't even get me started on the hunger; I am just constantly, perpetually hungry 🙂

So my mom shows me this photo of some celebrity woman today—can't even remember her name—and starts telling me how she lost her baby at seven or eight months. She didn't just sit around wallowing, though; apparently, she threw herself straight back into her career instead... I mean, seriously, Mom? What is the point of that story? What am I supposed to take from it? Is it meant to "encourage" me? 😠
Thank God she doesn't realize I'm absolutely terrified that my baby won't make it. I spend half my life listening for every tiny movement like a total lunatic. If she knew, she’d probably dig up fifty more examples just to prove her point: that for a woman in that position, the only real lifeline is a high-powered career. (God forbid you actually had support from your husband or friends instead.)
I got so worked up that on the drive home, I ended up smashing my car because I swerved to avoid a damn ladybug. Screw ladybugs. 🤦
Now I’m spiraling, thinking maybe she’s sensing something is wrong and trying to prep me. She’s a bit of a witch, honestly—she always seems to know when something terrible is about to go down. 😢

😂 That actually made me laugh until I cried... picturing someone trying to exorcise my mother with sage smoke.😂😂

And what really gets on my nerves is that Chase should be releasing the funds for our mortgage to the home seller tomorrow. I tried calling them to make sure everything was set, but their phone lines are completely down.😠

From what I’ve seen, your mom has been dropping these little nuggets of wisdom since the very start of your pregnancy... and then you went and bought a condo right below her, too. 😁

But seriously... everything is going to be fine, okay? It really will. At least you have the option to get checked out whenever you feel uneasy... please don't spiral on me now. She just hit a nerve regarding your anxieties, and you're understandably agitated because, well, you're absolutely flooded with hormones right now.

It’ll be okay. We just have to grit our teeth and push through whenever life decides to throw these storms at us... deal? 😉

I was honestly losing my mind thinking all that movement was just my digestion making it impossible to feel the baby 🙄, until I actually saw it on an ultrasound—watching my "gut" literally punch me back. 🤣

And yeah, that was exactly what I thought were just gas pains and digestive issues. 🤦

My gut just went crazy! 😍
I’ve honestly never really felt any movement from my intestines or whatever, but I felt this little tap immediately, and then it just kept thumping.
And today... it feels like there's some tiny little witch inside losing her mind or something, she just keeps hitting and hitting.

I was so busy waiting for those famous "butterflies" everyone talks about 🙄, so I just brushed off the thumping feeling. 🙈
I honestly just thought it was gas. 😬
