You'll get the hang of it before you know it... personally, I've already become a total pro at grabbing things with my feet.🤣

It’s especially annoying when some guy uses the phrase `wanted` to justify his actions 🙏

My father-in-law and mother-in-law both use that exact "I wanted" logic, and honestly, it makes my skin crawl every single time. By the way, their daughter living with them is an elementary school teacher, yet she never once calls them out on it...

Aaaaaaaaa what a joke 🤣
(picked this up from some Dalmatian friends; can't even remember what we used to call it back home 🙈 )
Thanks for the breakdown.
And please—don't get me started on toes—mine currently look like tiny little donuts 🙂

Anthony Watson35 said:Not even worth commenting on—but seriously, what the hell is "kevčija"? 🤷
Edit: Just realized my girl isn't even texting me back. No calls. Nothing. Thanks for nothing, little joys of life 😍

..well, dear, a "kevčija" is basically just a scoop or a ladle, you know, like those big kitchen utensils we use... and people keep trying to insist to me that it's some classic American slang, though I'm pretty sure it's actually a regionalism from elsewhere, but hey, whatever the "patriots" want to believe.. 🙄

..and yeah, honestly, be glad she isn't blowing up your phone with texts or calling you twice a day just to ask where her sons are (even though she totally KNOWS they're at work!) because, let's be real, she's really just calling to check up on YOU—to see if you're actually being a good daughter-in-law or if you're slacking off! 😳

driftingcobra7 said:Honestly, I think I might actually lose my mind over my mother-in-law’s spelling, especially when she sends me those little texts... things like "ormen" instead of cabinet, calling a saucer a "plietki tanjir," or using weird terms like "kevčija"... and don't even get me started on her asking "what are you cooking for lunch?" or saying stuff about "baby wriggling." It just drives me absolutely crazy, I guess!

I have some relatives who used to drive me insane when I was a kid, constantly asking about "making lunch" or "making coffee." Whenever they’d ask my mom what she had "made" today, I’d snap back and say, "Laundry!" because for her, dinner was always something she "made."🙄

Honestly, my incredibly selfish husband has me absolutely fuming today—he spent the entire afternoon just lounging at a Starbucks, waiting for me to wrap up my checkup at the hospital. When I actually asked him to come inside and keep me company, he reacted like I’d just handed him a death sentence or something. I should probably mention that I was stuck in that waiting room for five and a half hours while he was just... well, completely unbothered, sipping his coffee. Other husbands were right there waiting for their wives, but mine? He just couldn't be bothered. And the absolute kicker—the real icing on the cake—is that he didn't even ask how the appointment went. Now that I finally have my results, I think I might just keep them to myself for a while! 😛

...................I totally feel you....mine is exactly the same way...though, I suppose he does at least ask for the doctor's report, but heaven forbid he actually sits in the waiting room with me...

..anddddd? Is it a boy or a girl? 😍

The doctor just confirmed it’s a girl! But please, let's keep this off Facebook for now—I really don't want anyone knowing yet, especially my husband since I'm still pretty annoyed with him.
I also had a bit of a run-in with the woman working the front desk at the hospital, which honestly just made my day worse. She accidentally took two of my referrals when she should have only taken one, and by the time I realized the mistake and went back to get the extra one returned, she gave me such a hard time. She kept insisting it was noted on my outpatient chart that I was doing a second visit, but I looked, and there was absolutely nothing written there!

🤣
I’m feeling so incredibly optimistic today! Even though I was just saying how broke I am until my maternity leave kicks in, and how we're totally screwed and won't even have enough food to eat...🤣🤣

But then he goes, "What do we really need? We have each other, and we have our baby." Like, wow...😕

1. Spent 4 hours sitting in the OB-GYN waiting room 😠 (I guess I should be grateful, last time it was 5 hours)

2. Terrible first CTG reading 😠😠 (The repeat one turned out fine)

3. My husband whining the entire time and throwing a fit about having to wait with me—even though he just sat there like a statue scrolling on his phone, even offering to leave since there was a chance I’d be stuck here for a while... 🙂

4. My mom basically broadcasted to anyone who would listen that I’m going into labor this Sunday, so now everyone is blowing up my phone with "support" and unsolicited advice🙂

I think I'll just tweak your points slightly.
1. It was actually five and a half hours!
2. Same here regarding the scan.
3. My husband didn't really come to be *with* me; he just sat there hovering and then ended up being late picking me up.

My husband and sons actually had me in tears last night... they were bickering like a bunch of thirteen-year-olds. I’ve got three kids at home, God help me... and another one on the way. I’m seriously considering checking myself into a mental health facility 😢

I was just thinking about what driftingcobra7 mentioned earlier, and honestly, I kind of agree! It’s funny how things work out like that, isn't it? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I feel like there's so much more to the story than we initially thought. I guess we could look at it from a different angle if we really wanted to, though I suppose it might be a bit of a stretch. Anyway, I just wanted to share those little thoughts while they were on my mind!

Heyyyy, girl! 😍😍 I don't really have any issues with Facebook, though I guess I just don't have those kinds of habits when it comes to using social media! 😉)

I was just sitting here thinking about what Quincy said earlier, and honestly, it really got my gears turning! It’s funny how those little observations can totally shift your perspective on things, isn't it? I guess I might be overthinking it, but I can't help but feel like there's a much bigger picture at play here than we initially realized. Maybe we should all take a second to step back and really digest that idea before we jump to any conclusions. It feels like such an interesting angle to explore, almost like when you're trying to solve a tricky puzzle and suddenly everything just clicks into place! Anyway, I'm just rambling now, but I'd love to hear if anyone else felt that same spark of realization.

Oh man, you should have seen my husband yesterday! We were out grabbing some basic essentials for the fridge because, honestly, the only thing left in there was a lonely little tub of margarine. He just sighed and told me that this sixth month of the year has been a total wash—he felt like he hasn't actually made any real money for himself or anyone else at the company lately. It’s just one of those months where everything feels a bit underwhelming, I guess! 😲 So, I guess the official company car is finally all fixed up and ready to go, but there’s a bit of a catch—it’s just sitting there at the mechanic's shop because I don't actually have the cash on hand to cover the repair bill yet. It feels a little bit ridiculous, honestly, since I've finished every single job I was assigned, but somehow, not a single one of them has been paid out yet! 🤦 I only just found out about all this yesterday... and honestly, I’m at a total loss as to how we even manage to get by some months... I really don't know! Now I’m just sitting here feeling so incredibly guilty because I realized just how much I spent this month on things that we—well, maybe they weren't strictly essential for us right now, or even in general! And to make matters worse, the registration deadline is coming up in just fifteen days... and there isn't even any certainty about whether these paychecks are actually going to come through or not... ugh... but I guess that’s just how things work with the government around here; nothing seems to be properly regulated by law, not even a little bit! :2up:

I wasn't quite sure which thread would be the best place for this, but I figured it might fit under things that just... grate on my nerves 😢
I’m currently seven months into my pregnancy, and honestly, until about three days ago, I felt like I could take on the world—I was even out riding my bike and feeling great. But NOW 😢 everything has changed. I feel incredibly bloated, like I’ve gained a hundred pounds (even though I’ve only put on about 15 pounds so far), and I can barely move. My nose is totally stuffed up and I'm winded just sitting there—maybe it's some kind of low blood pressure thing? Everything feels so heavy, and I’m honestly a bit shocked; I assumed the real struggle wouldn't hit until the final month, yet I still have three whole months to go 😢. Anyway, I mostly just wanted to vent here, because I assume I'm not the only one going through this. My husband is being wonderful and supportive, but I guess sometimes you just need to talk to someone who actually understands what you're feeling.
If I picked the wrong category, please don't hold it against me 🙄

whatever. I guess "plate" is just as much of a "classic American word" too.

@Austin Ruiz42 - you’re in the wrong thread 👍...and if it helps at all, you aren't alone here—though, honestly, some of us have it way worse than you do 😁. This heat is killing me; drink water, take it easy, stay cool... there's no other way. 🤷
My (again 🙄) biological father set me off with his usual outbursts... seriously, just beat it already... image

Okay, I really need to vent about something. It’s not even about the pregnancy, but it's driving me crazy.
So, as soon as I found out I was pregnant, I went on maternity leave. My partner and I planned our wedding for just three months later, and we tied the knot.
At my office, we always have this tradition where we all chip in some money for whoever is getting married.
Usually, if you're attending the wedding, you contribute more, and if you aren't going, you give a smaller amount.
We only had about 40 people at the ceremony, so we didn't invite anyone from work.
I honestly wasn't expecting them to collect any money, but apparently, they did.
We got married on February 12th.
And as for the cash? Nothing.
I wasn't expecting anything at all, and I almost wish I hadn't even heard that they were collecting it.
But somehow, I ended up finding out everything—who intended to give, who didn't, and who is just stalling and making excuses about being broke.
Some people I actually contributed to, just because I felt like it even though I barely know them, told me they would have given something to me too.
It just really irritates me that this information is reaching my ears in the first place...
It makes it look like I care way too much about the money, when I'm really just observing.
I truly don't care, but once I head back to work, I'll know exactly how to treat certain people.
One coworker mentioned she might drop by for coffee soon and bring her contribution,
and now what bothers me is that she keeps delaying it. It's not about the money, it's just that my big event is in two weeks, and I really don't feel up to hosting anyone right now.
Anyway, I just needed to get that off my chest.

Yeah, sure... that's an interesting point you're making, Sarah Adams3.
I work at two different schools. Since I've been at each for barely a year, I haven't really built deep connections; nobody from work is getting an invite to my wedding. I'll just buy everyone cookies next week to settle the score. In both districts, there's a tradition of chipping in for weddings, new babies, retirements... we even pooled money when someone was hit by a financial crisis or a long medical leave.
At one school, I actually received a nice stainless steel dinnerware set. At the other... well, who was even getting married? We mostly chipped in for a colleague when her daughter and son-in-law lost their jobs after she had a grandchild, or for various other life events. That's about it. I'm not an envious person, and I don't view everything through a dollar sign—but if this doesn't fall under "give and take," I don't know what does.

Oh, and I should mention, we hosted them for a big spread just two days after the wedding—tons of food and desserts!
I mean, honestly, I probably would have done the same even if it wasn't such a huge expense; I was actually quite surprised when I heard about the costs.
But now, it really bugs me that nobody has had the decency to show up even once.
Are they seriously waiting until I have the baby?
Because if so, I really need my crew from work to be among the first ones there...
