driftingcobra7 said:I was just thinking about what driftingcobra7 mentioned earlier, and honestly, I kind of agree! It’s funny how things work out like that, isn't it? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I feel like there's so much more to the story than we initially thought. I guess we could look at it from a different angle if we really wanted to, though I suppose it might be a bit of a stretch. Anyway, I just wanted to share those little thoughts while they were on my mind!

Heyyyy, girl! 😍😍 I don't really have any issues with Facebook, though I guess I just don't have those kinds of habits when it comes to using social media! 😉)

I was just sitting here thinking about what Quincy said earlier, and honestly, it really got my gears turning! It’s funny how those little observations can totally shift your perspective on things, isn't it? I guess I might be overthinking it, but I can't help but feel like there's a much bigger picture at play here than we initially realized. Maybe we should all take a second to step back and really digest that idea before we jump to any conclusions. It feels like such an interesting angle to explore, almost like when you're trying to solve a tricky puzzle and suddenly everything just clicks into place! Anyway, I'm just rambling now, but I'd love to hear if anyone else felt that same spark of realization.

Oh man, you should have seen my husband yesterday! We were out grabbing some basic essentials for the fridge because, honestly, the only thing left in there was a lonely little tub of margarine. He just sighed and told me that this sixth month of the year has been a total wash—he felt like he hasn't actually made any real money for himself or anyone else at the company lately. It’s just one of those months where everything feels a bit underwhelming, I guess! 😲 So, I guess the official company car is finally all fixed up and ready to go, but there’s a bit of a catch—it’s just sitting there at the mechanic's shop because I don't actually have the cash on hand to cover the repair bill yet. It feels a little bit ridiculous, honestly, since I've finished every single job I was assigned, but somehow, not a single one of them has been paid out yet! 🤦 I only just found out about all this yesterday... and honestly, I’m at a total loss as to how we even manage to get by some months... I really don't know! Now I’m just sitting here feeling so incredibly guilty because I realized just how much I spent this month on things that we—well, maybe they weren't strictly essential for us right now, or even in general! And to make matters worse, the registration deadline is coming up in just fifteen days... and there isn't even any certainty about whether these paychecks are actually going to come through or not... ugh... but I guess that’s just how things work with the government around here; nothing seems to be properly regulated by law, not even a little bit! :2up:

Oh, I completely understand. It's probably a good thing my husband left the finances entirely to me, since he wouldn't even know how to pay a utility bill if his life depended on it.
He got his travel reimbursement today, so I told him to go ahead and pay the electric bill, but then I realized—wait, where did I put the statement? Good grief, I've been putting the bills in the exact same spot for three years straight. If I had the money, I'd just handle the bills myself.
We actually had to take out a small union loan just to cover the car registration, since we didn't have any other way to manage it.

I get how this sounds, but I honestly CANNOT help myself—I am so sick and tired of this endless hunt for this little girl! For God's sake, we've got the police, the National Guard, SWAT teams, hundreds of people out there! It’s like nobody else has ever gone missing before... They practically stumbled upon some other poor kid by accident, yet this is turned into this never-ending circus. While the media types are busy practicing their soundbite skills, I even saw that the mother, looking totally battered, gave an interview to Gloria. 🙄 🤦

Anthony Watson35, you're just as much in the line of fire as you are 🙂, so I'll say it: I agree.

Honestly, I’m fed up with that girl and her whole family. It infuriates me that they’ll probably try to hunt down a hundred different scapegoats instead of anyone actually taking personal responsibility. You’ve got this overprotective mother going one way, and the daughter heading in the complete opposite direction. A perfect example of a disaster.
Besides, I just can't wrap my head around this part; a seventeen-year-old girl just hops into the cab of a truck driver she doesn't even know... 🤔
Is it just me, or am I losing my mind here?

If that's the case, then there's a hell of a lot of us losing our minds, because everyone I talk to feels the same way. Though, looking at the comments online, it seems like that's not the majority view.
Look, I get it—a crash like that was basically inevitable; and sure, maybe she was forced into the truck against her will (maybe, whatever)... But it kills me when I think about how families like Kristina Šušnjar's or Angel Bešlić's must feel... man, the search for those girls was practically treated like a "well, better luck next time" situation—but now we have this unprecedented circus... where's the justice or equality in any of this?🤷

Yeah. And her sister’s comments about expecting a meeting between the President and the Prime Minister are pretty wild 🤷

We're asking for trouble here 🤣 If we don't end up facing a ban 😁

Honestly—that sister is clearly dead set against any jail time. Just seeing her makes me sick to my stomach.

I’m with you on this...
My skin crawled when I saw a tabloid running an "exclusive" feature: Antonia Kalako's private diary... all this talk about poverty and hope and whatever else. You just know those parents probably GIFTED them that diary to the paper, didn't they? (Maybe then they won't be so broke anymore. Honestly, you really have to specify in your will that if anything happens to you, your journals should be burned, not sold to the press.)

*Mental note: dig through the old boxes, find my high school diaries, and torch them. Nobody cares about them now, but better safe than sorry...

I’m trying my best to keep it together here—really, I am—because I’ve never seen anything quite like this. I’m attempting to just take it easy and let things roll, you know?
But seriously, damn, maybe we’re all just losing our minds? My family was already struggling to stay afloat after my grandma passed away—and we're talking about a woman who lived to be 86 years old, had a full, long life, was surrounded by family and love, and died peacefully of old age. And then this happens: a 17-year-old kid left completely alone overnight in some horrific way... and what’s the response? They jump straight into giving interviews to every bottom-shelf tabloid out there?!
Kill me now if I'm missing something... because nothing about this makes sense to me.

I’ve been reading through your posts, and I suppose I’d be wrong if I said I didn't agree with you at all.
It seems a bit strange, doesn't it? I mean, after everything we went through following Grandma's passing,
this just feels like too much.
Giving an interview to a newspaper—for what purpose? Is it supposed to help her find a daughter?
They really crossed a line here.
I guess I'm just worried about what might actually be going on behind the scenes.

And you think that’s actually popular😳... people get a feature for having a new kitchen, or "My Exotic Journey," or even "First Haircut for My Poodle." It’s a slippery slope, right? One minute it’s trivial fluff, and the next—I’m sure we’ll be seeing "The Agony of Losing My Dearest ________," "My Chemotherapy Journey," and soon enough, "My Hemorrhoids"—complete with full photo spreads...
I honestly can't wrap my head around it. No one could convince me that people who parade their tragedies through the tabloids during their darkest moments are actually sane.

Everything is getting on my nerves today—especially my husband.
And honestly, even though it’s a relief that those idiots from ESPN finally cleared out of the headlines (about damn time!!!!), they just left a massive vacuum for Novak Djokovic to fill. Look, I get it, it's not even the same thing, but seriously? No matter what I click on, it's just him, over and over. I've had enough. And now I have to deal with Rade Šerbedžija being all over the news too. Just great. 😳

The local news outlets are driving my blood pressure through the roof with these horror stories about childbirth... Honestly, if things were already bad, there’s no need to terrorize pregnant women who are already terrified enough as it is...
And don't even get me started on the tabloids and news sites... 😠 They're just peddling these mindless stories that are basically nothing more than pre-election propaganda. It's the government playing the "look how much we care about our citizens" card. They're hoping the majority is distracted by all this performative concern long enough to ignore how much taxpayer money they've flushed down the drain...

Ugh, I absolutely love this topic...😍

There are two specific threads that are driving me up the wall lately...
The first one—how much labor hurts...
Look, if anyone disagrees with me, feel free to roast me, but what kind of topic is that even supposed to be!!??🤷

How on earth can anyone claim to know "how much" labor hurts? It makes zero sense!!??
Everyone has their own unique pain threshold and their own personal experience; there is no way you can objectively classify someone else's pain..

The other thing that gets under my skin is when women post about their experiences at specific hospitals—whether it’s Mayo Clinic, VG, or Mount Sinai...
Over the last few days, it seems like everyone is just posting negative things, especially regarding Mayo Clinic..

Honestly, give me a break...
I mean, there will always, always be both positive and negative stories somewhere, so what's the point of dwelling on it!!??

At this rate, I have no idea where I’d even want to give birth. Nowhere seems okay anymore... thanks a lot, ladies, you're making it impossible to choose, and now instead of feeling prepared, we're just going to arrive at the hospital on the big day feeling totally anxious.. yeah, I'll probably just end up at some random hospital on the edge of town instead..

And no matter how hard I try to avoid reading those kinds of posts, I just can't help myself..
When I go to a thread like that, I want to find useful information, actual experiences, tips on what to expect, warnings... things in that vein..

And don't even get me started on that other thread—what to wear when leaving the hospital!!

Just when I think I've figured it out, I read a comment saying that for a baby born in the summer, a long-sleeved outfit is fine—of course, they mean a thin onesie.. as if someone is actually giving helpful advice... nope, they say short sleeves!!!

For heaven's sake... is it long sleeves or short sleeves!!!????🙂

And then there's the "don't listen to us, just decide for yourself!!" crowd. That drives me absolutely insane..
And please, don't tell me, "well, you'll just see what the weather is like." It could get chilly!
That also sets me off..

So yeah, that's what's bugging me..🤔

Alright, go ahead and crucify me if you want to..☕

🤣
hollowhound32, I’m basically just signing your name here 😁
When I see titles like "how much to hurt," I’m mostly just cringing at the sheer stupidity of them... I skim through the stuff about maternity wards—it’s always just "a hundred women, two hundred boobs" (plus three hundred different opinions 🤣)—but this whole thing about what to wear? It's giving me a literal nervous breakdown. And as if the forum wasn't already a mess of conflicting advice about sleeves—I’ve heard half-baked theories from actual doctors and nurses too! Can we all just get on the same page for once?

I was honestly a bit stunned by that. Look, I get it—they’re asking for help finding their missing daughter. They’re being a little more intense about it, and I guess that’s why they’ve stirred up way more public outcry than other parents dealing with missing kids, which seems fair to me. But then the scene cuts away, and suddenly we’re looking at Antonia Maša's mother complaining about unpaid bills. Now she’s asking for financial aid to cover her expenses and fix her roof, claiming she's living in total poverty. It's a strange pivot. 🤷

That was a bit tacky of you. 😲

So, a little bit about me...

I ended up heading to the bathroom three times tonight. 😠 The last time it hit at 5:15 AM, and of course, I didn't stand a chance at getting back to sleep. Now I’m just lying here, unable to drift off because my back starts absolutely killing me the second I hit the mattress. 😠Finally, I managed to catch a little sleep around 6:00 AM, only to be jolted awake minutes later by my "beloved" dog in the living room. He’s acting like an absolute idiot, repeatedly lunging at the window. He doesn't even know how to jump properly—he just charges from the far side of the room, slips on the hardwood, and sends his claws screeching against the floor. Then he stares out for maybe three seconds before jumping back up, then down, then up again, just stuck in this mindless loop. The reason he’s losing his mind at the glass is because that little menace managed to knock the blinds out of position, and I couldn't get them pulled back up. 🙂I told him ten different times to pull them in so I could finally close the blinds. I don't need this idiot staring right through the window while we're trying to sleep! 😠

I dragged myself out of bed at 7:00 AM—after spending a solid hour just sitting there, fuming and spiraling. I stumbled into the living room and pushed myself through whatever workout I had planned with everything I had left in the tank. Honestly, I think I was just too pissed off to fail. That sheer irritation actually got me through it. 🙄 I pull them shut, slide them down, and he just looks at me and goes, "Alright, we're moving. Now pull the blinds up so he can see through the window!" I’m standing there fuming, telling him absolutely not, and he just hits back with, "Fine, then I will!"

I told him straight up—I haven't slept a wink. I’ve been wide awake since 5:15 this morning. And honestly, I feel like I've already told you ten different times to just pull the blinds shut!

Then he hits me with that: "You're lying, you haven't told me a single thing!!" 😠

Ugh, seriously? I couldn't even catch a nap on Saturday afternoon because of this. He just headed downstairs to "tidy up" the car for a bit, but instead of taking the dog with him, he left the little brat at home to sit there and stare at me through the window!
Sunday morning!
Yesterday afternoon and then again this morning! And now he’s actually having the nerve to claim I didn't say anything to him. I distinctly remember telling him everything—I even told him I tried to pull the blinds back down but they were stuck.

I had to storm off to the bathroom just to clear my head because I was so livid I practically forgot my own name. And all I could hear through the door was him whining and complaining. It wasn’t even just that—I told him a thousand times to just leave me alone. I told him straight up: I’m not talking, I’m not looking at you, and there is zero communication happening right now. Plus, it’s early in the morning! Who wants to deal with this crap first thing? But no, he wouldn't stop until I finally snapped and slammed my sandwich into the chair. Honestly, I was just so on edge, I hit my breaking point. 😢

I’m rolling my way toward work, just cruising along, when he hits me with that grin—you know the one, stretching from ear to ear. And then the constant teasing starts... "Come on, just give me a smile! I know you want to! I know you're holding it back!" Honestly, I hate it. It’s some new little tactic he’s trying out, and frankly, it’s driving me up the wall.

🙂

Right this second:
The phone rings—good afternoon, this is so-and-so from [redacted] Corp, we’re calling to let you know you've won a free gift bundle featuring a magnetic bracelet that helps with... ughhhhhh... (wasn't really listening) and some "French women's perfume" (absolute riiiiiiiip 🤣 🤣 🤣); everything is totally free, delivered right to your door, all you gotta do is cover the shipping fee of $31.
🤦
Alright, starting a contest here—anyone want to guess how I responded? ☕
Seriously though, are there actually people out there where this kind of scam works?! 🤷

Oh, it definitely happens! 😁

A few years back, I was doing something pretty similar. We were cold-calling people and baiting them into these big presentations—you know, selling mattresses, pillows, and all that junk. We used every trick in the book... 😂 The whole point was to lure them in with the promise of some "free gift," only to subject them to three hours of pure brainwashing!

And let me tell you, we met all kinds of people... 🤣

But honestly? For us girls working in the studio, it was actually a blast! 🙂

They called me several times in a row once.
I first cut them off just so I wouldn't have to deal with perfumes.
I already told them twice that I'm not interested. Do they even realize I mean it? $33 I'll just grab it at CVS. Right. Fragrance on sale?
I asked them for the third time if they realized they’ve already called me twice today. The woman just hung up on me without even saying goodbye. Typical.
I let it ring for the fourth time. I just didn't have the energy to deal with annoying people today.
I’m not trying to be rude to those teleprompter operators—a friend of mine actually worked one of those gigs while she was in college, so I know they deal with plenty of nonsense. But calling four times in two days? That’s just crossing a line.

It drives me crazy when people can't bother to read a thread title. If the topic is: "What were your first pregnancy symptoms?" (real experiences), then no, it is NOT okay to just list ten symptoms and ask: "Wait, am I pregnant?"
Or listing symptoms only to conclude: "Maybe I'm pregnant, but I haven't taken a test yet."
Argh... 😠

I’m honestly a little worried that my presence here might rub some people the wrong way, especially since I’m practically crashing a party meant for expectant mothers!
So, my husband and I recently found out we're expecting, and for the time being, we've kept it just between the two of us. We've been married for nearly two years now, and if I'm being completely honest, the constant pressure from everyone around us to "start a family" has been incredibly draining. We didn't want kids right at the start of our marriage, which gave us about six months of blissful peace before the dreaded "any news?" questions and those pointed comments about "when are we seeing a baby?" started flying whenever we said nothing was happening.
It seems like almost all of our friends and acquaintances fell pregnant literally a week after their weddings, so naturally, they’ve become the loudest voices in our lives. We were at a backyard BBQ recently that was absolutely crawling with tiny babies, and everyone was hovering over them. I wasn't exactly jumping at the chance to grab a baby—partly because I feel bad when everyone swarms them, and partly because I don't exactly feel like an expert at holding infants—so I was immediately labeled as cold and uninterested in children. Then came the lecture about how none of them liked other people's kids either, claiming it would all change once I had my own... I really don't understand why people think I need to be nudged when I actually do want children; I just happen to be someone who doesn't go running to fawn over every toddler I see, even if they are adorable!
A little while ago, both my husband and I decided we were ready to take the plunge, things finally lined up for us, and we started trying. Thankfully, it happened quite quickly! Since we didn't feel any desperate need to broadcast our business to the world, the "campaign" to get us pregnant is still going strong among our social circle. I truly don't understand why there's such a huge outcry when someone doesn't want to jump into parenthood immediately. In a perfect world, these comments wouldn't matter to me, but since we're always surrounded by young parents who seemingly live to talk about their kids, I am constantly subjected to these endless stories.
Interestingly enough, neither my parents nor my husband's parents have ever pressured us, even though I know they are dying to meet their grandkids, and I am so incredibly grateful for that.

I really hope I haven't stirred up any trouble with this post! (If necessary, I'll happily accept being the "odd hen" who read the thread title but decided she just had to vent her frustrations here instead).
