I just don't have the guts to dye it until I'm through this first trimester.....

Wait, why? Is that actually an issue?😕 I had no idea—I've been coloring mine the whole time. I get highlights done every two months without fail. My stylist did mention I should probably hold off while breastfeeding, so I guess I'll be reaching for the headbands then, too. 😉

Look, I'm pregnant via IVF, and sometimes I just overthink things too much. 😢Getting pregnant hasn't been easy for me, especially since my first pregnancy didn't end well. I’ve even found myself smoking in the cold just to cope. I'm doing everything I can to minimize any harmful influences now, mostly just to save myself from the guilt.
On the other hand, I'm dealing with some pretty intense nausea, and certain smells are absolutely killing me right now. I honestly can't picture sitting through a hair coloring session at a salon with my hair being this long. 😂.

It’s not like I’m skipping the hair dye altogether, I’m just waiting until I get through this first trimester... so yeah, I'm walking around with some serious root regrowth, but whatever. Next week I’m finally heading in for some highlights. They told me they’re pretty safe since they don't actually touch the scalp.
I seriously can't wait 🙂

Look, highlights aren't exactly "safe," but they’re definitely better than a full head of color because you aren't dumping chemicals directly onto your scalp. Honestly, I had my highlights done when I was two months along—I didn't even realize I was pregnant yet. It’s funny, because during my first pregnancy, my OB-GYN specifically told me to hold off on any hair coloring until after the third month.

I actually held off on coloring my hair until I was about four months along...

After that, I switched exclusively to ammonia-free dyes—I’ve used them twice now—🙄but the downside is they fade way too fast... though, honestly, it doesn't matter that much since I just stick to subtle shifts in shade a few levels up or down from my natural color...

People keep telling me that getting highlights is fine, mostly because they don't make direct contact with the scalp...

Now, please, just take one single minute to scroll back through the last two pages before you post again.

And I am over and out!

You aren't going to be a good, "real" mother😬 unless you understand the whole sacrifice factor and how to manage that crushing guilt—something every true (future) mother understands... 😁 (Let’s be honest, I definitely fall into your category too)

I'm frustrated right now, but my hormones are also running the show (which is a pretty decent excuse for anyone God gave them) 😬

edit: I get my hair colored regularly every four weeks because I refuse to let my child feel embarrassed by an old-looking mom🙂

The highlights don't actually touch my scalp—though they do apply some kind of glaze afterward—but it doesn't last very long, and I assume it isn't too intense or harsh...
I wasn't exactly one for changing my look back in the fall either, but I'm heading in next week... honestly, even my usual hair ties aren't helping anymore 😬

You can actually find some natural hair color options at places like CVS. I switched to those last month and they cost about $23. They have plenty of shades too. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out and I’ll probably keep using them after the baby comes, since my hair looks fantastic.

Ugh, those comments... even a friend asked me the other day where I let my stomach go 🙂 because they "couldn't see anything" 🙂.

I keep getting told I’m too thin—as if people are actually looking for my stomach—even though I’ve put on 15 pounds! 🙂

Seriously, stop complaining about the belly!
I’m actually like 9 pounds lighter than when I first found out I was pregnant, but honestly? I can't even squeeze into a single pair of jeans because this bump is just massive. Plus, I’m heading to Victoria's Secret this Monday because, I don't know, everything is basically overflowing right now! 🙂 🙂 🙂

When it comes to how big my bump actually looked, I remember during my first pregnancy, I went into my doctor's office for a checkup about six weeks before my due date. The OB-GYN looked at me, then looked back at her charts, and asked who the appointment was actually for. When I told her it was for me, she just stared and said, "No way, where is your stomach?" 🙂
Because of that, I never really got any special treatment or priority in lines based on how pregnant I looked. Unless I specifically spoke up and explained what was going on, people just assumed I wasn't expecting anything. 🙂

Maybe don't overdo the watering if you haven't got a gut
It feels like we've reached a point where a guy can't even get a shave 🙂 🙂

and honestly, I never used to get how someone could be that incapable... but now I totally do. 😁 😁

but anyway, back to the whole belly thing... if it’s too big, it’s bad; if it’s too small, it’s bad... people just can't ever win, can they? 🙂

I actually love my little bump 😍 but I have to laugh at myself when I try to peek over it to see what I'm doing. I'm just lucky I don't slip in the tub! 😂 😂 😂
I guess there's always a way to make it work. 🤣

At 36 weeks, I walked into my first checkup at Mount Sinai and the nurse literally asked if I was pregnant.
And don't even get me started on my neighbor, who joked that I was going to give birth to a kitten instead of a baby! 🙂
My little girl ended up being 8.4 lbs and 22 inches long. 🙂

Oh man, I totally get it now... the other day I'm standing in the bathroom trying to "get ready" and oops... I try to suck in my stomach just a little bit to see what I'm working with... but it's just not happening 😂 😂 ...basically... lately it's just been a series of ridiculous mirror acrobatics 🤣

(When I mentioned the belly, I was thinking about how everyone else seems to have an opinion on it, whereas we pregnant women 😉)

😂😂😂
Gosh, you immediately remind me of my mother-in-law and her constant comments: "Oh my goodness, you're going to be so huge!" or "The baby is going to be 10 pounds!" or "How are you even going to deliver that?..." 🙂
Man, part of me really wants to tell her off, but I usually just bite my tongue and say: "Well, you guys did it, so I guess I can too." 🤣
Me and my big mouth. 🤣

It was honestly hilarious watching everyone try to predict exactly when my bump would show up and how fast I’d start "expanding"... 😂
First, it was always like... oh, just wait until the 12-week mark and you'll see... except, nope. Then it shifted to... okay, well, hang on until the end of the fourth month and then we'll really see it... and again, nothing 😂😂... My stomach didn't even start showing until after 18 or 20 weeks—and even then, most people didn't notice, just the ones who actually know me well enough to tell
.
Then they got incredibly annoying once things finally became visible, with all these comments like, "Oh, there it is!" or "Wow, look at that belly!"... seriously? Like, thanks for stating the obvious while I'm sitting here in my sixth month of pregnancy 🤣 😂
.
I really don't get why people feel the need to make such a big deal out of it... 🤷
