Ugh, I seriously cannot deal with people constantly asking if the baby "came back to life" anymore 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Like, how can anyone be this clueless?
If I don't feel any movement, it means there's no baby (God forbid), period.

So far, my maid of honor and two or three girlfriends have already hit me with this question. 🙂
Honestly, if a guy were asking, maybe they'd actually get it. 🙄

And then my maid of honor acts like it's totally normal, as if she’s listening to some crazy advice from her sister-in-law claiming a baby magically revives at four months old—and this woman has two kids herself! 🙄

I was there maybe two weeks ago. I expected a huge crowd, but it was just me and one other woman. I didn't even have time to find parking at Target before I was already done.

It’s summer, so maybe they aren't scheduling many surgeries right now... but when I went, about two months back, the place was packed. There was zero system in place, and there were at least ten of us just sitting in the waiting room.
Okay, it actually moved pretty fast... those people are clearly pros at what they do. There were maybe five pregnant women total; everyone else was older, in for different procedures...
Look, I don't think I was trying to cut the line or anything. I wasn't even that far along, but there were two others who were much further along than me and they didn't get any special treatment either. 🙄

Carol Ramirez23 said:Well obviously, why would you care who was scheduled when? You aren't crazy enough to sit there in a waiting room surrounded by people with colds and various illnesses... personally, if I truly can't wait and I'm not certain if I have priority, I'll just go up and mention that I'm pregnant and ask if that gives me any preference. But honestly, the older gentlemen at Walmart are the best; okay, they don't necessarily have to let me cut the line, but they certainly won't push past me when a new register opens up! It's quite a sprint! They probably realize that you're young, while for them, every single day could be their last.😂

Probably 🤣
I don't get their shoving matches either 🤷

The younger crowd asks because they see the baby moving, which is fine. It's just that one cousin who really got under my skin with "the question." Honestly, it was infuriating. In my opinion, asking it that way is just plain rude and tactless.

The whole "brought to life" thing doesn't bother me—I just see it as a way for people to ask if I can actually feel the baby yet. Everyone knows the heart starts beating way before that anyway..

Don't take it so personally. It’s like when someone asks if you slept like a log—you don't go thinking they’re actually implying you were murdered. 😁

Solid analogy. 😉

I'll try to keep that in mind once I actually hit that stage where they start grilling me about it.
It drove me absolutely nuts during my first pregnancy. It’s like talking to a brick wall—you explain to people that the baby is alive and kicking, and then they turn around and ask the exact same thing five minutes later. Total waste of breath. 😁

Man, whenever my dad calls me up, he pretty much follows the exact same script every single time—it’s always the same three questions about how I am, what's new, and if the baby is kicking yet. And honestly, I haven't even given birth yet! It’s been going on for months now, just this endless loop of the same conversation, and I think he’s just run out of things to actually talk about. Sometimes I can't help but mess with him a little bit, so I'll tell him that nothing 🙄 for days now, and he just sits there looking totally bewildered.

So, I actually had a pretty sweet surprise today while waiting in line at the store.
I was at a small Walmart and it was packed... I only had a couple of things in my basket, and since I don't even feel pregnant yet and my bump is still tiny, I wasn't exactly trying to draw any attention to myself. I was wearing this super tight shirt, just standing there in line, when this young guy—probably like 18—turns around and goes, "Oh, sorry, I didn't see you, please go ahead of me." I told him, "No, really, it's fine, I only have two things," but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Then he asks me which month I'm in, adding that he doesn't want to be intrusive if that's too personal. Honestly, he wasn't pushy at all, he just totally made my day. 😍

Seriously, those rude old geezers really need to 🙂

But honestly, it’s true. When I was pregnant, my belly was so huge everyone thought I was having twins—I definitely didn't go unnoticed. I hopped on the subway for just two stops, and I wasn't even planning on sitting down because getting up and down felt harder than just standing there for five minutes.
Suddenly, this young guy comes up to me and leads me by the hand to an empty seat, only for some obnoxious old man to cut right in front of my nose to grab it. Zero shame. 🙂

The kid ripped into him so hard I actually felt embarrassed for them. The rude old man just acted like he couldn't hear anything and stared out the window.

I had another one of those moments today at Walmart where some lady basically steamrolled right over me just because an extra register finally opened up. And then, once she realized I was trailing behind her with my cart, she started clutching her neck and groaning like she was in total agony, acting as if being pregnant with a toothache or something made her life an absolute struggle!😂

Then, while I was over at Dionysus, I overheard a sales clerk getting into a heated argument with this elderly gentleman, snapping at him for not moving aside for a pregnant woman. The old guy, who clearly saw me standing there, didn't even have the guts to look me in the eye; he just insisted he couldn't see anyone at all and practically bolted out of the store!😲

It’s honestly a bit embarrassing how greedy people can be, always scrambling to be first in line, but I suppose you can't help it when you've spent decades stuck in that sort of retirement mindset 🙂

So, some old guy just shoved his way right in front of me in line. The cashier absolutely laid into him—honestly, good for her—asking how he could be so shameless cutting ahead of a pregnant woman. And his response? He actually claimed *he* was pregnant too. Are you kidding me? Idiots! I don't think anyone has ever dared to cut in front of me in any shop I've been in, to this point. Maybe they all just assume I'm overweight instead of pregnant since I don't exactly go out of my way to show off a massive baby bump or anything.

Carol Ramirez23 said:I honestly find it so draining when people constantly try to scare me with their horror stories—you know, those endless warnings about how I won’t be able to handle a baby and a dog at the same time. And then there’s the talk about childbirth, where they act like every bone in your body is going to shift out of place from the sheer agony of it all, or the way they describe my upcoming C-section like I’m heading toward some kind of grim execution. They go on and on about how incredibly long and grueling the recovery period is going to be, and I just don't quite get it... I really don't understand why people feel such a strong need to weigh in with these opinions when they haven't actually gone through the experience themselves.

Exactly 👍 besides, if it helps at all, lately I've mostly been hearing that C-sections are becoming way more common for moms 😁

slystag4 said:I always went under the impression that once I actually got pregnant, those agonizing period cramps would finally be a thing of the past, but apparently, I was dead wrong.😁

Ever since I found out I was pregnant, my stomach hasn't stopped aching. It fluctuates—some days it’s a dull throb and other days it feels significantly more intense—but the discomfort is just a constant, daily presence. And honestly, I can't even bring myself to swallow a single Tylenol to try and take the edge off right now.

To top it all off, the sudden, massive outbreaks of cellulite on my legs are just... unprecedented. It's truly something else.😲

At least regarding your mental state, you know it's just because the little one is settling in and everything is okay
😍 I won't even go there with the cellulite
but once the baby arrives, it'll all pass 😢 😁

Henry Cooper4 said:Back in Chicago, if you're at a blood bank waiting to test your type... you wait. No shortcuts, no VIP treatment, nothing. Just pure waiting in line.
But then there was this one day during a checkup... I'm sitting there for forty minutes, listening to other women being called in way before me, and they haven't even shown up yet. I have no clue what the protocol is here—do I speak up or just sit there like an idiot until they call my name? Finally, some lady tells me to go talk to the nurse. So I walk up to the door, say "Excuse me," and the nurse just glances down at my stomach. Pregnant. Suddenly, everything is magically sorted out.🤣

Lately, my relatives have been driving me absolutely crazy. It's those people who act like they’re morally obligated to buy a mountain of baby gear. Personally, I don't expect a single thing from anyone.
Now the interrogation has started: "What do you need?" And I tell them, "Nothing. We've had everything we need bought for ages." And then comes the guilt trip: "Oh my goodness, you're so prepared! You didn't leave us anything to buy! What are we supposed to do now?!"🙂
☕Yeah, maybe I should have waited two weeks before checking in so someone would actually ask what I needed. If I had, I probably wouldn't have had any of this stuff ready to go by now.

Man, if only everyone treated pregnant women that way—life would be so much easier.😁
But hey, at least you have decent relatives—mine act like total savages because I buy things months in advance.🤷 If they only knew how much joy every single little pair of socks brings me, they'd probably be just as overwhelmed.😳div>

I’ve had this experience where—say I’m moving a bit slower and I finally reach the checkout line (that was basically at the very end, since I wasn't exactly rushing through the aisles 😁)—and I'm there pushing a cart full of groceries or carrying a basket, all while holding onto the hand of my little one who's about a year old... whenever the retirees saw me, it was like they’d all just been injected with pure adrenaline—everyone was suddenly racing past me to get ahead! It’s the honest truth!
My absolute worst experiences have been at Target and Walmart. At Target, about four days before my due date, I had to go pick up some cash, and I felt so lightheaded I almost passed out—but I couldn't even get the right to sit down on a bench. See, those "helpless" folks in their forties were already hogging all the seats 🙂. A lady waiting in line behind me actually held a spot for me, though... but man, what a disaster!
And then there's CVS.
Over at CVS, a woman actually opened up a new register specifically because the three of us pregnant ladies were stuck waiting in a line that seemed miles long.
Then, this young dad 😲 just shoved his way right into the front of the line with milk and baby food. He didn't even have a baby with him. It was just me. 🤷

What used to drive me crazy was all the comments from friends and family who know how much I’m hoping for a girl (though a boy would be amazing too) acting like they just *know* it's going to be a boy. Like, excuse me? How do you actually know? If anyone has a gut feeling here, it's me. That stuff really got to me during the phase where I was crying over every little thing like it was pouring rain outside. I finally realized people just have this weird instinct to wish for the opposite of what you want...
Now, my mother-in-law is getting on my nerves. She’s usually great, but lately she’s started meddling in things that have zero to do with her. She won't say anything to my face, either—she just pulls her son aside to whisper about why we aren't married yet or why we’re buying those black strollers... man, I'd love to just snap at her for being so indirect!
I also get annoyed at myself sometimes because I feel like some of my girlfriends are mad at me because I'm not my usual self. Sorry if I've been a bit much lately—pregnancy is tough to deal with!!!
The sleep situation is a nightmare. I mean, I technically sleep through the night, but I wake up in the morning feeling like I ran a marathon62 miles. And the hunger is constant. Fruit doesn't even touch it; I'll eat five apricots and then thirty minutes later I'm halfway through two chocolate croissants. Plus, the whole "can't take a bath" thing is annoying, and don't even get me started on shaving. I have to pull these ridiculous, painful poses just to reach my legs.
People don't exactly rush to let me go ahead of them in line at the grocery store, but honestly, I don't shop in person that much anyway, so it's fine. I can handle standing around for a bit.

On the bright side, my nails are looking amazing and strong, and my hair—which is usually pretty thin—is actually full of volume right now. I haven't even had many breakouts, maybe one or two here and there. It's also great that my feet haven't swollen up yet, which is wild since I'm 24 weeks along and I know some women are dealing with that already.
But honestly, the best part is just the sheer amount of love I feel for this baby. It's completely limitless... 🙂 just incredible
I love it when the baby kicks, especially seeing them flutter around in there. When I talk to them and they kick back... yeah, that makes everything else worth it.

Oh man, I remember this struggle... getting ready for a gynecologist appointment..
I could barely sit on the edge of the tub without losing my balance, and just as I finally get into the groove of shaving, I realize the mirror has fogged up so much I can't see a thing. So I'm just sitting there waiting for it to clear, only to realize my butt has gone completely numb and I can't even stay seated. By then, I've already rinsed off and stepped out of the tub, and honestly, I just don't have the energy to go back in... 😁

So, what did you end up wearing? Did it go okay? 😍

It’s just instinct! 🙂 So you can't trust those gut feelings right out of the gate. Between the hormones and all those ridiculous "miracle" supplements people push...

Walmart is clearly a den of evil😂😂, because I constantly get run over in the aisles there! I really have to give credit to Kroger, though, because today, for the first time and just three days before giving birth, the cashier actually called me up to the front!😍 And the guy standing in front of me immediately stepped aside to let me through, too. Well, I was feeling pretty good today, so I was generous enough to let him go ahead of me instead😁. I guess now that I look like I might actually explode at any second, the benefits are finally starting to kick in... though it feels a little late!🙂
