What kind of message should I even send...🤣🤣

The ideas these women come up with are truly appalling.🙂

Jacob Long said:Then recently, my mother-in-law actually tells me I won't even need sugar once I have a baby—which is hilarious considering I'm Type 1 diabetic. Like, hello? And then she follows it up with that classic line about how doctors recommend getting pregnant when a woman is having health issues. Just great.

What am I even supposed to say to that? 🙂🙂🙂

Just an old, ignorant woman. 🙂

Dana Martin87 said:Are we getting married?! When are we actually doing this?! What are we even waiting for?!!!!

Friends ask me once a week. Acquaintances who find out I’m pregnant ask before they even say congrats. My boss asks me three times a week...

I can't take it anymore. This pregnancy caught us totally off guard. We poured every cent of our savings into renovating a house so we could finally stop renting and have a place of our own. Every single day, from sunrise to sunset, we're working on that house. On top of that, I'm building the furniture myself just to make sure it's high quality without breaking the bank. Right now, a wedding is the absolute last thing on our minds. But suddenly, it's become an issue because of all this pressure. Honestly, we might just head to the courthouse for a quick civil ceremony just so people will leave me alone. I'm about two seconds away from losing it and telling everyone where they can shove their opinions.

I told one friend that I’d rather wait until the baby is a year old to have a wedding, and she tried to convince me the kid would carry trauma and complexes for their entire life??????????????! 😲

This drove me absolutely insane during my first pregnancy too. I ended up pregnant before we were married, and we finally did the paperwork when I was seven months along. Personally, I wasn't in any rush to "hide the bump," but I really wanted to wait until spring so the weather would be nicer for the party I had in mind. And honestly, I wasn't exactly itching to move in with my husband's parents either, though we didn't have any other choice back then. I just wanted to stay home and enjoy the pregnancy as stress-free as possible until we sorted out "our space."
My goodness, my neighbors literally drove me to the brink of madness back then with questions like, "Oh, haven't you tied the knot yet?" accompanied by those nosy stares at my belly and these pitying looks. 🙄
I was actually terrified of taking the elevator or walking into the apartment building just so I wouldn't run into one of those three or four busybodies who always feel entitled to know everything.
If I were a more blunt person by nature, I would have told them I didn't even know who the father was; I thought of all sorts of things just to get them off my back. For me, marriage isn't even that big of a deal in life—if I happened to be infertile, God knows if we'd even bother getting married since I hate weddings, ceremonies, and all the stress that comes with them. We just legalized things for the sake of the kids, that's all.
It is truly incredible how people allow themselves to harass others with questions that invade such deep privacy; to me, it’s just incomprehensible...

nuklea500 said:What I find particularly fascinating is how the pressure isn't even coming from our parents, but rather from girlfriends, acquaintances, the boss...

Our parents asked us exactly once, we gave them some vague answer, and they never brought it up again. But everyone else? Man, the pressure is relentless.

Marriage doesn't actually mean much to us; we decided a long time ago that if we ever do marry, it’ll be strictly for the sake of the child. Though, honestly, I think the kid won't care whether we make it official while they're still in the womb or once they're already in a crib. We've lived together since day one of our relationship, so as far as we're concerned, we're already married.

Look, I'm the first person to hate unsolicited advice, but in my experience, if this is just a formality for you and you aren't planning a massive traditional wedding or ceremony, just go ahead and do the courthouse thing now and get it over with. It's purely for practical reasons—once the baby arrives, you'll have even less energy. Babies demand everything from you, and trying to organize anything becomes way more complicated than when it's just the two of you.
We handled ours at the city clerk's office without any of the extra circus. Neither he nor I are church-goers anyway, so we just had a nice dinner for the parents and a party for about 20 close friends, and that was that...
Good luck, whatever you decide to do!

But that part about the baby having "trauma"...😂 there are just all kinds of people in this world...🙄

The closer I get to my due date, the more kids just drive me absolutely insane. 🙄 You’d think it would work the other way around, right? Like the whole maternal instinct kicking in and making everything fine...
But instead, it's that screaming, running-around crowd—the 3 to 7-year-old demographic. It's the kids throwing rocks at you on the beach, splashing everyone in the pool, shoving people on the sidewalk, or demanding you give up your seat on the subway. And don't even get me started on bedtime, when they just sprint around the house shrieking instead of sleeping.... 🙂 To top it all off, whenever I say something about it, it feels like I'm the only one noticing. Everyone else acts like it's totally normal :nemajka:

I find myself facing the exact same issue, and I must admit, that particular habit of Anja's is equally vexing to me as well. 🙄

It’s not even the little kids themselves that get under my skin—it's the sheer terror they induce. Honestly? There are moments where I'm just like: I am NOT going to be able to handle this mentally or physically

"Put a nightstand right next to the crib, trust me—you’re gonna be way too wiped out to be trekking across the room!" 😳 (maybe just 😬 inches
away)
"Honestly, you should just move in with me for the first two months. You won't have the energy for anything once you deliver." 😲

"Nobody’s gonna be real with you about how terrifying and painful childbirth actually is. I wish someone would've told me..." 🙄

"When are you having the third one?" 😕🙄

I can't even begin to tell you how many people have cornered me with that exact question... honestly, it’s getting exhausting...

Good grief, some people really have no filter... So, I was at the local farmer's market yesterday picking up some salad, and as I was paying the cashier, she just looks me straight in the eye and says, "Good luck! May you have a healthy baby boy!"
First of all, I already have a son... Secondly, even if I didn't, this is the first time anyone has ever said something like that to me, as if having a son is some kind of universal wish everyone should be chasing. And honestly? If I were to pick, I’d actually love a little girl... Of course, my biggest priority is just for everything to be okay and healthy, but you know what I mean.

It was actually kind of cute at first, but now it’s just getting on my nerves because everyone thinks they already KNOW the gender of my baby... My future mother-in-law is convinced it's a girl—mostly because she’s spent her whole life surrounded by guys and is dying for a granddaughter—and my family is certain it's a girl too, just because I'm supposedly "calm and gentle," which is such a load of crap. Then my friends are all swearing it's a boy, though God knows what they're basing that on. And the kicker? I'm barely even twelve weeks along. 🤣 Everyone keeps asking how I am, if the baby is showing yet, or trying to poke at my stomach 🙄 like it's some kind of public attraction just because they heard the news! I guess my hormones are just all over the place lately, so everything is just really grating on me right now. 🙂

It’s funny how different people are. To me, all that guessing feels way too sweet. I actually enjoy when people try to guess the gender; it’s always a blast to see who gets it right.

A coworker at the office told me it's a girl because my face hasn't changed at all 😁

Mom thinks it's a boy because my bump is sticking straight out instead of being carried "low" or "centered," as she puts it. Then she looked at some 12-week ultrasound photos and changed her mind, saying it's definitely a girl because the fetus looks like me 😂

The highlight was at the hair salon. My husband and I go to the same stylist, and he cut my hair first. He stared at my reflection in the mirror and told me, just like my coworker, that it’s definitely a girl since my facial features haven't shifted.
While he started cutting my husband's hair, he told him, "Sorry man, but you're definitely having a girl." When my husband mentioned he was hoping for a boy, the stylist just shrugged and said, "Oh, then it'll definitely be a boy; it's never the gender the dad wants." 😂

Nobody tries to grab my stomach, but honestly, I’m the one offering it to my friends. Since I live in a different city and we don't see each other constantly, as soon as I visit, I ask them to check me out and give their expert opinion on how much I've grown since the last time they saw me. 😁

Dana Martin87, it's funny how differently grandmas tell these stories...
They told me I was a boy too, just because my face didn't look "distorted." They were actually 😬
The only thing I don't get is what kind of ridiculous logic implies that being "distorted" is even a thing...

At least you got a polite version about your face changing. I was told it was definitely a boy because I hadn't gained weight.😲😲

I also heard that thing about breasts—that if they grow a lot, it's definitely a girl because of hormones, but if they stay small, it's a boy... What do you guys think? 😬

Well, mine aren't exactly huge—maybe I’ve just gone up one cup size—and my boyfriend is 😁

I don’t really have an issue with people on the street since my baby bump isn't showing much yet, but I am definitely struggling with questions from my own family. It’s just constant. Like, when my aunt starts getting on my nerves—which is happening quite a bit lately, considering I’m only in my ninth week—I’ll tell her how exhausting it is, and mention that I’ve already thrown up twice this morning. And then she tries to "comfort" me by saying, "Oh, well, that means it'll stop soon!" As if. Yeah, right... I just looked at her and said, "Well, we still have three weeks to go before 🙂

"Wait, how do you ALREADY know the baby's gender?" 🙂

I am definitely my own worst enemy during this pregnancy. These mood swings are absolutely killing me; I’ll be laughing one second and sobbing the next. I’ve turned into such a sensitive, clingy mess, which is honestly embarrassing because that is usually the last person I want to be.😱 What has your experience been like? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel, or will this actually stop?
