Morning, everyone... I’ve had it rough lately, losing two pregnancies—one a few years back and another last year at about ten weeks. Now, we’re trying again for baby number three, crossing our fingers for some good luck. My last period started on July 15th, and we were intimate between the 25th and the 28th. Based on my cycle, I should be getting my period right about now. I actually took a test a couple of days ago, but it came back negative. Of course, I couldn't just sit tight and wait like a normal person... total idiot move, I know. My breasts are super sore, which isn't really my usual deal before a period starts. Plus, I've been feeling this dull, nagging ache in my abdomen for a few days now, pretty much like the pre-period cramps I usually get. But then again, normally the pain hits for just one day right before my period shows up, accompanied by a bit of brownish discharge for a day or two. This time, though, I've been hitting the bathroom constantly to pee, though it's slowed down a bit today. There hasn't been any stinging or anything that screams UTI, but the discharge is kind of creamy, and when it dries, it looks slightly yellowish. Honestly, I want this little one so badly that I'm starting to second-guess everything—wondering if I'm just reading too much into these symptoms or if it's all in my head. Just wanted to vent a little and share the struggle with you guys... how long should I hold off before testing again? God, I am terrified of seeing another negative. Sending love to you all...

^It’s probably a bit too early to be looking for an M-result today. I’d say give it another two or three days before you even think about testing for Ardit. Just wait a couple more days first.
As for symptoms... honestly, they hit every woman differently. There's no rulebook for that. ☕

Whatever happens, happens. Just try to take a breath. Everything that's meant to happen will find its way to you eventually. 😉

Andrew Reed5 said:It looks like a ghost town in here, but I’ll say it anyway: I’m staying hopeful. I’m picking up a test tomorrow. I plan on testing early Sunday morning. I really need my period to arrive this Sunday. Nothing hits me harder than right before my cycle starts, but I did notice some light red spotting about five days ago. Hmm...

Where's everybody at? Anything new happening?

Morning, everyone... I’m reaching out because I’ve been through the ringer—I lost two pregnancies back in the day, one a few years ago and another last year around the ten-week mark. Now, we’re stepping up to try for number three, hoping for some better luck this time. My last period started on July 15th, and we were intimate between the 25th and the 28th. Based on my cycle, I should be due for my period today. I actually took a test a couple of days ago, but it came back negative. Of course, I couldn't just sit tight and wait like a rational human being... total idiot move, I know. But my breasts are so sore, and that’s honestly not normal for me right before my period starts. Plus, I’ve had this dull, nagging ache in my abdomen for a few days now, similar to pre-period cramps, though I have to point out that usually, the pain hits just one day before everything arrives, followed by a bit of brownish discharge. This time, though, I’ve also been hitting the bathroom constantly, though it's slowed down a bit recently. There hasn't been any stinging or anything that screams UTI, but the discharge is a little creamy and turns slightly yellowish once it dries. I want this little baby so incredibly badly that I’m starting to question my own sanity—is it all just in my head? I just needed to vent a little and share this struggle with you guys... how long should I hold off before testing again? Honestly, the fear of seeing another negative is paralyzing. Sending love to you all...

I have one question weighing on me: how much time needs to pass after ovulation before a pregnancy test actually shows a positive result?
I am on birth control, and we had sex on July 27th. I missed my pill on July 29th, realized it the next day, took two to make up for it, and didn't have any more sex after that... but since August 6th, I've been dealing with nausea, a weird metallic taste in my mouth, and breast tenderness (which isn't normal for me). It feels almost identical to when I was pregnant the first time. Yesterday, I had some bleeding—not quite a full period, just lighter and weaker—so I took a test (on August 10th), and it came back negative! Even though the symptoms and nausea are definitely there...
Edit: I realize you aren't supposed to ovulate while on the pill, but my best friend missed just one pill during her cycle and ended up pregnant!

I’m truly sorry you’re going through this—it’s exhausting—but I’m crossing my fingers that you see that positive sign very soon. If I were in your shoes, I’d probably hold off for another two days and then try again, ideally using that first morning sample. Those symptoms can be incredibly deceptive—they might mean something, or they might mean absolutely nothing at all, much like what rapidrider3 was pointing out earlier... 🤔 Just hang in there for a bit longer, and please, let us know how it goes. 😘

I suppose I might just be getting paranoid, but lately, everything feels a bit "off"
My usual pre-period symptoms involve tender breasts for about a week leading up to it, some bloating a couple of days prior, fluctuations in appetite, and lower abdominal cramping on the first day—though sometimes it starts a day early.
I’m expecting my cycle in roughly a week, yet I’ve been feeling these faint, intermittent twinges and pains in my abdomen for three days now; they aren't nearly as intense as my actual period, though yesterday I even felt some slight cramping in my groin area.
It’s somewhat disorienting because this isn't how it usually goes for me, and I don't think I'm imagining things, as these sensations tend to catch me completely off guard while I'm busy with work.
It is still far too early to take a pregnancy test, but since I am naturally feeling quite impatient, I suppose I am bothering you all here on the forum, so please forgive me.

I knew a woman once who was on birth control, missed one dose, kept going as usual... and now she’s got her third kid, an eleven or twelve-year-old boy...
So yeah, you can get pregnant if you miss a pill, but then again, maybe you won't... everything happens for a reason, I guess. Every baby shows up when they're meant to, when it's their time... if it's meant to happen now, then forgetting that pill wasn't exactly an accident...😉

Keep bugging us...

Look, from my experience, if I ever felt anything—cramps, stomach issues, nausea, etc.—before my period (aside from my breasts), it was a sign there was NO pregnancy.

The month I actually got pregnant, I felt nothing at all. No cramps, no nothing. Just felt light, calm, totally quiet. That was the giveaway.

But hey, every woman is different...
If I were you, I wouldn't count on a positive this month.
And remember, the seasons are changing, and we've still got a full moon passing through, which messes with everyone's mood anyway...

I wouldn't say I'm making any definitive claims just yet—it’s probably best not to count our chickens before they hatch, after all. I'm simply observing some shifts in the current cycle, and while the possibility remains, if things don't pan out as expected, we'll just get back to business and move on to next month 😁

rapidrider3, thanks. Honestly, it doesn't matter if I am pregnant... even if it wasn't part of the master plan (and I live for a good plan), it is definitely what I wanted... it just happened early!
I am curious, though—what is the earliest someone can detect a pregnancy on a test? Is it from the day of ovulation, or after fertilization? Does anyone here actually know?
Last night, while listening to U2, I was tempted to grab a beer, but I didn't want to take any chances... now that I have some parties coming up this weekend, I need to decide whether I should be acting like an expectant mother or just a teenager, haha.

You can drink beer during pregnancy, just don't overdo it. I'm pregnant myself and I have a beer every once in a while. My doctor said it's fine and that some pregnant women actually crave it.

Earliest? Well, let's say the day you're actually supposed to get your period. Test then. Use that first bit of urine in the morning... and maybe skip the beer, unless you want your test to smell like a brewery. 🤣 😁

Hey everyone... still nothing to report today. No heavy flow, and even the spotting isn't darkening up much. I think I’m going to hold off for just a few more days until the 15th, since that’ll mark the full 30 days since my last period started, so I can finally run a test... man, I don't know if I can make it to Friday. It's actually my wedding anniversary that day, too. If this turns out positive, what a way to kick off our first year together... haha... just one little plus sign, and everything changes. Ugh... fingers crossed

Hi there! I'm pretty new here, though I feel like I’ve been lurking in this thread forever. Just curious if anyone knows if needing to pee all the time is a common thing right at the start of pregnancy? Like, specifically during those first week or two?

It can be. But honestly, from what I've seen, it usually doesn't kick in until a few days after you're expecting your period—once you've actually confirmed the positive. Then yeah, the frequent bathroom trips are very common.

And it usually sticks around through the whole first trimester.

Anyway, glad to have you here...

HEY LADIES, THE TEST CAME BACK POSITIVE.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So, my boss basically sent me packing and told me to head home early today because I was feeling absolutely trashed. Honestly, I totally lost my cool for a second, thinking maybe my blood pressure was just spiking or something, but then I realized I had to know. I bolted straight to the CVS down the street to grab one of those instant tests you can do right there, and—lo and behold—it’s a big fat plus. Oh my god, girls, I am just over the moon right now...

hey there... look, it doesn't have to be a "must," but honestly, my experience was basically just living in the bathroom... like, every single time I turned around, I was running to the toilet... plus my breasts were super tender around the nipples... and now I'm looking at a positive test today... those were pretty much my only tells right at the start... maybe a little bloating too... anyway, good luck...
