And nothing else... once I finally move into my new apartment... just a little forum treat from my side of the world...

🙂 You can certainly expect the same level of hospitality from me once I finally get settled into my new place in NYC 😬. I think I’ll just order the miniature version of that wedding cake 😁.

I mean, it's 37 miles interstate travel 😕 we're talking about. Plus, I have no clue if you can mix up the shapes of the tiers, or if they all need to match so the supports can actually hold everything up.

My friends had this cake delivered to their place in a small town in the Midwest, just outside a small town in the Midwest:

She looked stunning. Truly elegant. 😍

Daniel Smith8 And who on earth was responsible for making this cake?

That cake and those little suitcases I posted earlier? They’re from... Sweet secret..

I didn't get around to answering this yet—that cake Dana Wright4 was asking about, the one they drove out to that small town in the Midwest? It actually had three different layers of flavor. Like the others already mentioned, you need the bottom layer to be a bit more compact (this one was a walnut-chocolate blend), then you just stack the top ones however you like. I remember my aunt used to make them exactly like that for every summer cookout.

I thought I’d jump back in here to provide a little update on this thread—I’ve actually gone through and read through EVERY single post (it took me two full days, believe it or not!)

I have a few questions, and I would truly appreciate some honest feedback from you all:
1. The prices being discussed here aren't nearly as outrageous as I feared—I was bracing myself for Vincent to charge upwards of $2,000, but instead, I found a mention of a price point for 160 guests at $500. Has anyone actually placed an order there within the last month or two at that specific rate?
2. I am leaning toward Ticino—does anyone know which local bakeries they use? Specifically, I'm wondering about Vincent, Meli, or M&M?
3. Has anyone here ever ordered a wedding cake from Adonia? If you have, please feel free to send me a private message with your experiences. I really want to avoid any "forum riddles" or guessing games... I see she was offering her services, but it looks like she hasn't been active on the boards for a while.

Thank you all so much in advance.

p.s. I stumbled upon this particular thread and it honestly feels like a dream come true, though based on your comments, it seems our local pastry chefs might be a bit... lacking in intuition. It looks like my perfect dessert might remain just a dream...

I mean, I don't think this cake should be an issue—it's really just about using a different shade of frosting and spreading it all over the cake. Honestly, almost every pastry chef out there works with this stuff, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about

Well, if you say so... I guess we'll just have to see if those words actually land in the pastry chef's ears...🙂

Hey, does anyone have the contact info for the Little Cookie House? I’ve been scouring the web and can't find a single number!

Perhaps someone could suggest a decent bakery or pastry shop over in San Jose? It’s right on my way, so I might as well make it worth the trip!
I just really hope their selection isn't as lackluster as the wedding dress inventory you find in the suburbs...

Anthony Chavez6, if you're hanging out in San Jose, you absolutely have to check out Dolac Market! It's right there in that bright red building across from the university, or near where Cotton used to be. Their pastries and cakes are incredible—from what I can tell, they’re actually pretty creative too! 👍

I've actually been thinking about them myself lately—honestly, everything I've tried there has been fantastic, even their pizza... Thanks!

A bit of an off-topic tangent here (😳 )—are you originally from the San Jose area? We really ought to finally coordinate that local coffee meetup we’ve been discussing... perhaps we could grab a drink after catching up at Time

Let me bother you all here for a second—hopefully I'm not too late🙂>

I am on the hunt for some cake toppers. Where can I actually find these in San Jose, besides checking out Vincek’s over on Zvonimirova? Online ordering is absolutely out of the question because the wedding is set for October 6th...

Does anyone happen to have one I could borrow or rent?🙂

Please send any leads via DM. I've lost track of everywhere I've already asked and I don't want anything to slip through the cracks.🙂>

Anthony Mendoza512, I thought you might find this useful, so here is the link to the page for Little Puppy Cookies .😉 It shows the phone number right there, along with some lovely photos of their treats http://www.malakucakolaca.com/.

Hey, I know you all have already shared how many treats you ended up going through per person. But, true to form, I’ve got a few more questions 😬 Were those numbers just for the reception area, or were they meant for party favors too? We actually decided against doing favor boxes this time (finally made a decision, haha), so I'm trying to figure out how much dessert we should grab for a hall with about 100 guests. It's easy enough to handle at home, but planning for a venue like this is stressing me out... so please, if anyone has any advice, let me know 🙂

The caterers told me to plan for 1.25 lbs per ten people since our tables seat ten. I was thinking one pound per table would suffice, but apparently, that won't cut it. Since I'm no expert on this, I guess I'll just take their word for it...🙂
