How good are you at "fuca"? :D in Soccer ·
I knew he’d dazzle people. It wasn't even about his technical skill—it was just pure speed, stamina, and those killer long balls. 😁 That’s why I prefer playing on bigger soccer fields. I usually play center or defense; if I get stuck onto someone, their efficiency just tanks. They can dribble all they want, they can sprint, but one slip-up? Boom. The ball is gone from under them. Clean, too, no fouls. 😁 I’m pretty solid in goal, too.

Back when I used to dribble, I’d try that Ronald Reagan move where you hop over the ball, but honestly, I lost possession more often than I actually beat anyone. But man, when a move actually worked? Pure magic.

Yeah, exactly. I need to really lean into it for it to actually land. If I just play it in the background while doing other stuff, it's just annoying. I was listening to them quite a bit for a while, but lately... they feel way too upbeat 😁 I can't deal with them right now. Maybe I just need to wait a bit longer.

Daniel Lopez said:I’ve dragged this book home from the library seven times now. Seriously, I don't need this. Every single time I just take it back without even getting past the first page. I have no idea what it is about this book, but I swear, watching the movie yesterday made me decide: I am returning this to the library. I'm NOT reading it and I'm NOT bringing it home again! 🙄

Then I feel better 😁 🙏 Though I don't know why 😕

Go read a book 🙂

Now I feel the same as before 🙂

I was totally into the first third, but man, that second half just didn't hit the mark for me. I was expecting a total masterpiece! Now I really need to read a book now that's been sitting on my shelf. Hopefully it isn't too heavy 🙄 😁

Honestly, I just hope you don't hold my previous nonsense against me. 😳 😁

I can enjoy certain movies even when I spot a dozen flaws that drive me crazy. Some people love rom-coms, some love action flicks, others go for dramas. They know the movie is mediocre, but they'll watch it anyway. I respect that.

But this movie wasn't like that. There are some films that just sweep you away so completely that you don't even notice the flaws. You don't see the dragging shots, the awkward angles, or the terrible lighting. You just surrender and believe in the story. It’s like you aren't watching the movie—the movie is consuming you. I don't know how to put it. It’s like being a baby. You don't care about anything else; you just take it all in.

That feeling requires more than just fixing a bunch of small, sloppy production errors.

I know I'm being sentimental now. You can't really argue against a description that mushy. 😁 But whatever. Let a sentimental guy watch a sentimental movie. 😁

Man.

🙂

Hey! You live in Vienna! You can just buy the tickets yourself!

😁

I’d grab that ticket in a heartbeat! If the deadline hadn't already passed, I’d be there. Rock is way more important than any deadline, right? Eeehehee.. I would totally go, man 🙂

You were basically trying to say nobody cares what I think and that the movie sucks. Well, now I know! Even my nitpicking couldn't have predicted this outcome.

Look, David, buddy, listen. This movie is good. How do I know? Just look at it. Who are you? This movie slipped through hundreds of legal loopholes. It’s like when an inspector shows up and says, "this safety net has too many holes!" Every kind of fish is going to get caught in those holes. But some fish still managed to slip through. And I'm just a small fish.

So, THAT proves the movie is good. 😁 THAT is it! As they say... 😍
I'll give a more sensible response to this provocation tomorrow.

Haha 😁 I love those one-sentence condescending remarks 😁 And adding italics for emphasis too, Jose Miller17? You can't do that...

I honestly think the split in opinion on this movie isn't about whether people actually know how to watch cinema or not. It’s just down to their character. I've seen plenty of users in this thread whose opinions I really respect, even though they hated the film. To me, the movie is great. How else am I supposed to explain it? I'm not going to sit here and claim someone just doesn't know how to WATCH a movie.

Nah, they should've come back. It was just one bad week. Maybe two. But the truth is he was just acting "busy and indifferent" instead of actually being "in love and decent." Total loser. I'm done spamming this thread.

I figured her messy breakup with Ribissi was just a metaphor for those rough patches in a marriage that shouldn't really be that bad. But yeah, it happened. He let his work obsession get in the way, she felt lonely, and BAM! here comes Murray 😁 Honestly, I even caught myself trying to figure out what she saw in him, but then I just decided to let it go—like they were living in some different time and place where he actually treated her right. Whatever. You just have to take the L sometimes.

I didn't even realize she was wearing a thong the whole time. It all looked pretty natural to me. But that opening shot where her ass is staring you in the face for like two minutes? We could definitely debate that one. 😁 maybe Sofia didn't know how to pull off a more interesting opening shot?

Go ahead and be patronizing. Tell them: "You mainlanders just don't get the dynamics between our people. It’s baked into our very souls—I honestly teared up every single time I watched this movie. The bond between Americans, Canadians, and Mexicans is this messy mix of hatred and love built over decades of being forced to live side-by-side. When someone mentions Mexico to me, an American, it triggers this massive wave of conflicting emotions that just overwhelms me."

While you're saying all that, picture every old guy in the room wiping away an imaginary tear. Just tear them apart. 👍

Witnesses in Movies ·
Look, there’s another side to this movie.

The novel "Gypsum Sheep," which the film is based on, was written shortly after the Rabbit family case. I think the author, Steven Spielberg, even said that specific case was his inspiration.
It ended up being pretty immoral. He basically took the Rabbit family's story and sugarcoated it just so we Americans wouldn't feel too bad about ourselves. In the book, the criminals didn't know anyone would be home, and Joe showed up at the door armed—but in the actual crime, it was a cold-blooded execution of the entire family. Just imagine if you actually knew the Rabbit family and then had to read this sweet little fairy tale with a happy ending.
Then in the movie, they added that Joe was a smuggler, and they even threw in a character for the murdered father to help justify the crime.

There you go. That’s what David Radic wrote in his review for The Village Voice. Now it's obvious why people are saying the film has nothing to do with their actual story.

This is gold 😁 I can't stop laughing... Is he talking about the movie Witness or witnesses in general? 😁
Richard Hernandez13 said:People usually assume the screenplay category is reserved for the "smarter," higher-quality films compared to the main categories.

Interesting point from Richard Hernandez13! I totally missed that nuance. It’s like, "Great script, but they totally dropped the ball on the special effects and the packaging." 😁

It shows how he discovers those little joys, like casual sex. It’s portrayed a bit caricatured, but that actually makes it more interesting. To him, the whole idea of hooking up looks so stupid, funny, and twisted that it doesn't even cross his mind. He needs something else. What? What is it? Then comes >. With her, he doesn't need sex, or a kiss, or some deep >. Her look while she's at karaoke is enough. More than enough. Oh, man, it’s so good to feel that again.

Look, sure, it might seem a bit superficial if you just look at it this way, but when I watch this movie, I see way more than just a masterclass in kissing 🙂 Damn it, I’m not writing any more about this film, I'll just end up spoiling it 🙂
