Tanning beds in Health ·
Hannah Scott69 said:It’s fine if you’re dealing with atopic dermatitis or psoriasis. But if you don't have those, just be careful. There isn't really a need...
zar ne?

I actually have psoriasis and tanning beds really help, so I agree!☕

But honestly, even if I were perfectly healthy, I'd still go every once in a while. It just feels so much better to have a little tan when this heat hits...😁

That is such a great idea, I'm totally on board! 🙏 🙏 🙏

Obviously, it would be easiest if everyone just met up in Washington, D.C., but if anyone is interested, I'd love to host in my neck of the woods—Indianapolis! 😉

I'm not sure how everyone else feels... there are plenty of us young people here... how do relationships and psoriasis work together for you? Or maybe a better question... what about your sex life???

I was in a long-term relationship before and it didn't bother him at all, it just wasn't working out overall, so I ended things because of much more serious issues😳

Now, things are moving forward a bit. I have someone who loves me regardless of my condition, though unfortunately, marriage isn't on the table☕

Most guys I meet don't have the guts to tell me if their reason for breaking things off—usually after just short flings—is actually my skin or something else entirely, so I'm totally in the dark🤷
I mean, I'm sweet, cute, funny, and smart... so I just have to figure out the reason myself if everything else between us is perfect...🙄

Betty Allen15 said:The most important thing is to respect and love yourself exactly as you are. Once you try to just live your life, you'll notice those weird looks from people way less often. I honestly don't know what depression feels like because I've never let anyone—not even an illness—control my life. So please, don't let depression or a bad headspace take over. I'll just pop in a CD and dance all morning, wearing skirts and short sleeves regardless of how things look, and when people stare, I just smile back. I've made it to 54 without ever hitting a depressive slump, and I still feel the same way... I don't talk about my psoriasis much anymore. I have a family of seven (my husband, two daughters, a grandson, and a son-in-law) that I look after, so I really don't have time to sit around wondering "what if" or worrying about what people think. You're young, and there are so many beautiful years ahead of you. Just enjoy them! Leave the depression to someone else. Keep your head up, tomorrow is a brand new day...🙂

Thank you, you are such a wonderful person! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Betty Allen15 said:HI THERE! I only shower using Johnson's baby chamomile shampoo—it's super gentle and doesn't irritate my skin at all. After bathing, I mix together some products from Aveeno (almond milk, aloe vera lotion, and chamomile & green tea milk) to create my own blend for moisturizing. It's packed with vitamins and keeps my skin feeling elastic, though obviously, it's not a cure! You can even stir in your regular moisturizer if you want... It works wonders for me, and honestly, Nivea just doesn't sit right on my skin. For my face, I use Eucerin Omega cream because my skin got pretty damaged from the cortisone, especially with those broken capillaries appearing.

I'll give that a shot, thanks so much everyone! 🙏

I have to admit, you guys really pulled me out of my funk. I've been in such a bad headspace since the start of summer... the patches on my body have spread quite a bit, and on top of that, it's driving me crazy seeing it on my legs, so I can't even wear dresses! 😢 I never used to deal with this on my legs... 😢

I know it sounds bizarre compared to the much tougher situations you're dealing with, but you know how it is... I just turned 31, and barely 5 percent of the people I know actually understand what's going on with my skin 😵 most people just stare and don't say a word, and then occasionally someone will ask, so I answer them... 🙄
It's honestly terrible how uninformed people are. It makes me so frustrated that there aren't more shows on TV about this, and that psoriasis is still treated like some big taboo 😠 I haven't even seen anyone with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis on those silly medical dramas 🤷

Huge props to Ms. Rose! 🙏 🙏 🙏
I really hope things start looking up for you from here on out... 🙂

I’ve been dealing with this since I was 19, and honestly, my patience is wearing thin lately. It feels like everything is getting worse, and suddenly every single shower gel seems to irritate me. I used to rely on Palmolive ultra-moisturizing with olive oil, but ever since I briefly swapped it for Nivea, my skin has been itching like crazy right where the psoriasis flares up. I never had symptoms this intense before, no matter how much area was affected. Why is this happening, and what should I be using in the shower instead??? 😢 😢 😢

Adam Wells43 said:I only treat the affected areas with natural stuff, like different oils after my shower, beeswax, and most importantly, taking a specific blend of natural teas to detox my liver and my whole body.

Lately, I’ve been thinking the smartest move would be to soothe my liver, because this whole situation is starting to drive me crazy... I heard dandelion tea is the best for a liver detox, have you ever tried it? 🤷

Robin Robinson8 said:It would probably be best if your doctor recommended it, since we don't really know your specific diagnosis here. You should at least go in for a checkup just to be safe...

I won't drag this out, but I've been dealing with psoriasis vulgaris for 12 years now. I've been using Elocom, but lately, it feels like it’s actually making things worse 👎
so I'm really looking to try something different! 😁

Can someone just save me the hassle and tell me how much Psorcutan runs? Also, do I really need to get all those tests done before I start using it? 🙏 🙏

Modern medicine doesn't really classify psoriasis as a hereditary condition.
So, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to passing it down to kids.😛 😛 😛

Exactly! ☕

That's actually why I was so surprised... 😳

Can someone please explain this to me! 🤷

If anyone's interested, hit me up! Just some silly fun, nothing serious, and of course, it's unpaid! 🙂

Is there going to be any nudity justified by the script, or is it just nudity for the sake of nudity? ☕

Sophia Campbell73 said:Like I mentioned before, I've been dealing with psoriasis for about 15 years now. For a long time, it was just the classic spots on my elbows, knees, and shins, plus maybe a few random patches here and there. Back then, my scalp wasn't hit too hard.
But lately, it’s spread to my stomach, my back, and my face. Since my scalp isn't the main issue anymore, it mostly shows up along my hairline, my full head, and my neck.
The only time it almost completely cleared up was during my first pregnancy, about 9 years ago. I barely used any creams at all, and my skin was totally clear (except for my head). Just to be clear, that pregnancy was super high-risk and stressful from start to finish.

Hmm, this sounds exactly like what I'm going through...🤔

At least it was like that until I got pregnant... since I don't have kids yet... so, maybe it'll clear up for me when I conceive too? 🙏 🙏

I'm heading to the coast soon, so I'll try to get some sun and see if that helps! 😁 😛

Chris Morgan67 said:Where do you head every single day for your tanning sessions?...

That feels a little too frequent for me. I used to go every single month and things were actually fine, but now I’m honestly getting worried about skin cancer... especially since I have quite a few moles, and those tanning beds are just so risky when it comes to that...👎

Oh man, not every single day... 😵 I make sure to do this twice a week right before swimming season kicks off. Since I have it all over my body, I need to get things cleared up in time so I can actually enjoy the sun... without having random strangers pulling their kids away from me at the beach! 🤣

copperviper102, don't you worry about a thing! I've been successfully managing my psoriasis with sun therapy for years now, and honestly, I haven't had any issues at all... ☕
Of course, I make sure not to stay out for more than 10 minutes a day 😬

I've been dealing with psoriasis for 11 years now, and honestly, nothing seems to work except for steroid creams and getting some sun ☕

Back in my first year, I actually had a long period of remission. I really thought I was done with it for good... but of course, I was wrong. It came back even worse than before and just wouldn't budge 😲 😕 Now, I just try to manage it during the summer months so I can at least look somewhat "healthy" once winter hits 😎

It’s been so wonderful reading all the success stories on this forum! So many people have finally understood their skin and managed to keep things under control using simple oils and ointments—everything from olive oil to classic Vaseline. To me, that feels way smarter than constantly testing out those messy pharmaceutical sludges that don't even work anyway ☕
