Sean Smith5 said:Here’s my reasoning for voting this way... Terry Carter2 has been doing a solid job leading the championship so far, providing results both quickly and accurately. As for the rules, I feel they've successfully navigated plenty of crises 😁 and we've spent far too much effort refining them to just toss them aside now. Plus, I really don't feel like memorizing a whole new set of 😬..

That is precisely why I included this option—to ensure we don't end up acting as if everything prior was a failure and that changes are absolutely mandatory.

It looks like the regulars around here have zero interest in voting. Honestly, you've only got three real choices left: open this up to everyone who actually cares, scrap the Survey and just run the championship yourself, or just call the whole thing off. Those are pretty much your only options at this point, unfortunately.🤷

The Survey has been live for two weeks now and basically only Sep is participating. This whole thing is becoming pointless..

As long as I’m leading the count, everything is working exactly as intended!

Just a reminder!

As previously established, voting rights are extended to all participants from any competition listed in this PDF over the last four seasons, though we’re also opening the floor to new candidates who are equally entitled to vote. Just a reminder: attempting to game the system with clone accounts is strictly prohibited.

A winning proposal requires a simple majority. If we don't reach that threshold, we will launch a runoff election featuring the top-voted candidates.

We plan to close the poll once we feel a sufficient majority of interested parties have participated.

That covers everything.
😁

I am just stepping in to remind all participants of the rules mentioned above, as I have noticed some individuals casting votes who clearly do not qualify under these guidelines.
Any such votes will be disregarded.

Alex Gomez4, there's a thread at the top regarding the championship. This Friday, before the race starts, put together a ranked list of drivers based on how you think the race will end (for anyone you think won't finish, just write DNF instead of their rank), and also call out who you think takes pole position and who gets fastest lap.
By doing that, you're effectively entering the competition, and then on Sunday after the checkered flag, you can see how accurate your predictions were. 👍

update:
I am suggesting to the chosen moderator that they adopt the simpler scoring system from my proposal. 😁

👍
Of course—how on earth did I miss that!
😁
I am calling on the selected moderator to absolutely allow a discussion regarding the refinement of our rules, ensuring they become as robust and fair as possible.

In that case, Option 2 sounds like it was tailor-made for you.

They can join the fray, sure, but they aren't touching the poll voting!
Your only option is to sign up at the start of next season following whatever rules we decide to implement!

The core structure of this competition remains virtually unchanged from what we currently have in place—everything from the roster of participants and registration process to the team dynamics, transfers, free agents, and the prediction format stays the same.
Predictions must be submitted no later than 10 minutes before the race starts.
We aren't factoring in the pole position or starting grid placement.
The scoring system has been tweaked specifically to ensure that no extra points are handed out for DNFs, DNSs, or False Starts.
The method for determining rankings is staying pretty much as it always has been.
The trophy for exact finishing positions isn't an official part of this specific competition, though we can display it if necessary.
The number of jokers has been increased to 5.
Users who are under a ban will still be able to participate passively during their suspension period.
The Moderator holds full authority as long as they remain in that role, though they can be replaced via a majority vote.
😁
I am asking everyone to please cast your votes now, so we actually have enough time left to define the things that remain undefined!
😁
I’m leading this by a landslide; honestly, it might be time to just wrap up the poll already!

William Bennett53 said:Is it possible to start a brand new thread with its own poll, migrate all the posts from this one over there, and then just delete this thread entirely?

That’s exactly what’s going to happen if I don't get this current mess sorted out immediately!
😁
Since TBF is heading out, my plans have been thrown into total chaos because he was the one holding the editing permissions for the poll.
We’ll kick things off with the selection process once I get the poll sorted and regain control over the settings.
Until then, you still have time to submit any changes or nominate new candidates.

William Bennett53 said:No hard feelings—I wasn't actually putting my own name forward for candidacy; I was simply proposing a set of rules. I still maintain they’re solid, but what's done is done.
In my view, establishing sound regulations is far more critical than selecting a moderator. As we all know, leaders come and go, but once a season kicks off, we are stuck with the rulebook. (Sure, you can tweak the minor details, but the core framework remains set.)

Personally, I’ll definitely be casting my vote either for you or perhaps for Matthew Young35. However, if I may be so bold, I believe my proposed rules offer the ideal compromise between yours—which are too similar to the current ones—and his, which are far too radical (in my opinion, focusing solely on the top five is overkill). 😁

That’s exactly why we need to wrap up this election soon, so we still have time to refine the winning rules. Regarding your specific proposal, I’d love to write myself in as the director alongside them, but let's face it, that would look absolutely pathetic.
I just hope that regardless of which proposal wins, we all work together to finalize the rules.

By the way, have you considered teaming up with darkmarlin16 to merge your candidacies?
😁
Unfortunately, we’re going to have to pull the suggestions from darkmarlin16 and Dorian out of the poll since they aren't fully fleshed out.
😢
redheron12 said:One of my teammates just quit on me—so now I'm really questioning if I’ll be playing next season at all. Still, am I allowed to cast my vote?

Of course you can. Honestly, without your vote, this whole poll would basically be invalid!
😁
Alright, it's almost time to cast our votes!
We’re setting up the voting process so that everyone who participated in any of the competitions listed in this PDF over the last four seasons gets an equal say (following Edward Howard2's suggestion). New candidates are also entitled to vote. Just to be clear: trying to rig the system by voting multiple times with clone accounts is strictly forbidden.
For a proposal to pass, it needs to secure an absolute majority. If we don't reach that threshold, we will launch a runoff election featuring only the top-performing proposals.
Edward Howard2 said:I’m actually against doing two rounds of voting because it just plays right into the hands of anyone running multiple candidacies.

Anyway, I’ve noticed nobody has actually clarified who gets to cast a vote in these elections...
Is it just anyone, regardless of whether they plan to compete next year?
Or is it strictly the active competitors from the current championship?
Maybe all competitors in the current championship, even if they aren't playing next year?
What about everyone competing in any event this season?
Or—and this sounds crazy—every single competitor from every single season we've ever had, obviously excluding clones since we have no clue who's showing up next year?
And what about competitors who can't even access the subforum right now (you know, the banned guys or those dealing with partial restrictions), since they’re technically still competitors too?

We really need to nail this down before the voting officially kicks off.

So, what exactly are you proposing?
