mistybear4 said:Look, this isn't actually about the multi-level marketing aspect of things. I’m simply sharing information about stuff that can genuinely help people; whether you decide to pick it up at a local health food store or buy it from some distributor is, quite frankly, the least important part of this entire conversation. What really matters—the absolute crux of the matter—is recognizing that natural, plant-based products often leave a far more positive impact on your overall health than conventional pharmaceuticals ever could. 🙂

I have no idea what kind of scientific definition someone would use to claim that anything emerging from a laboratory is "natural," but I'll leave that particular debate for another time.

When it comes to preventing disease, medications are a complete non-starter; conversely, when you're actually trying to treat an illness, dietary supplements aren't exactly sufficient either. I mean, they might be, but you probably won't see particularly high survival rates—not that anyone would call a patient who doesn't survive "unserious."
I can't track down the actual original paperwork at the moment—it’s been far too many years since this all went down—but I do recall that back in 1984, when they first started manufacturing Omega-3, the pharmaceutical industry actually took Herbalife to a US court. They sued over alleged "slander," "falsehoods," and the spreading of "misinformation" regarding Omega-3 and its supposed benefits for human health. Ultimately, the court ruled against them, slapping Herbalife with a $750,000 fine. They paid up, of course, and simply moved on with their business; at that stage, they were just too small to go toe-to-toe in a fair fight with the big players.

A classic semantic dodge: they’re just shifting the goalposts to avoid the actual issue.

Even with all that taken into account, I still fail to see how they could possibly be "just like me." Or, more accurately, I have no idea what on earth makes me "just like them."

On the contrary, there might actually be some legitimate science backing those Herbalife products... though I'm certainly not looking to start a debate about it.
One thing is absolutely certain: their distribution model is both incompetent—just look at my own experience—and outright predatory, given that it's a classic multi-level marketing scheme.
Buying products from someone who clearly doesn't know what they're talking about is a massive sticking point for a lot of people—especially those with egos far larger than their actual knowledge. They’d much rather walk straight into a local pharmacy and let some "expert" sell them absolute poison instead. 😁

Hmm...

Let’s get together for some cookies sometime... I just need to swing by the pharmacy first.

You know, you actually have some pretty brilliant ideas every once in a while... 😁
My take on this whole business is that I actually possess a modicum of understanding regarding how all of this works.

🤣

It’s quite clear just how much you actually know...
Honestly, everything I know right now would be far too much for someone like you to wrap their head around.

Yeah. I'll admit it.

I honestly can't stand it; it’s just far too much. It is quite simply too moronic, too illiterate, and too utterly illogical—all while being suffocated by an absurdly excessive amount of marketing.
Honestly, you don't even need a basic grasp of chemistry to pull this job off.

They clearly lack even a basic grasp of nutrition science, let alone biology or any fundamental understanding of how the human body actually functions—though, I suppose those fall under the same umbrella of ignorance mentioned previously.
It seems like I’m out here trying to convince people of something, but honestly, I’m really just defending myself against these mindless, baseless attacks from individuals who possess plenty of theoretical knowledge yet lack even the slightest ability to actually apply it in the real world.

And what exactly makes you think my critiques lack substance?

And how exactly am I supposed to defend myself against those kinds of attacks if I don't possess the very knowledge you claim isn't even necessary?

You aren't actually making any arguments to support your claims.
Don't mention it.

It’s honestly quite fascinating how you manage to live under the unshakable delusion that we’re all just complete idiots wandering around without a clue, while you alone sit there as the sole arbiter of intellect.
What kind of logic is that, really? It’s the sort of circular reasoning where someone assumes a place must be legitimate simply because it carries the name of the man who started the whole thing—in this case, the "Mark Hughes Cellular & Molecular Nutrition Lab."

That’s just lovely.

So, what, you think I actually work at that Molecular Nutrition lab?

My dear friend, you clearly lack the basic ability to even read research findings, let alone attempt to interpret them.

Even if you claim it’s the greatest laboratory in the entire universe, what does that actually matter if you’re still out here perceiving the whole thing as nothing more than magic?
Look, let’s be clear: Dr. David Heber is a scientist, plain and simple. He isn't some peddler out there trying to move product on street corners; his presence at Herbalife is purely strategic. He's there because Herbalife is the undisputed leader in the field, providing him with the ultimate global platform to expand his nutritional research on a massive scale. That mission—to push the boundaries of nutritional science worldwide—is exactly what Louis Ignarro and the rest of the top-tier experts (we're talking a group of 160 to 170 world-class specialists) are actually striving to achieve.

Hmm...

I would have asked you for your email address, but I can’t fathom why any top-tier scientist would bother providing a detailed response to an inbox cluttered with nothing but your nonsensical translations...

I’d honestly love to compile every single one of your dietary claims, chronologically, just to toss them right in their faces—but let’s be real: I’d probably never get a response anyway.
Or perhaps I should say, "it says right here in my book, which you can snag for the bargain price of $299.99."
Look, Herbalife isn't some miracle drug—it's just food. Once you finally grasp that distinction, you might actually be able to start thinking about this whole thing in a somewhat constructive manner.

Look, I’m not even suggesting that Herbalife is some kind of medical miracle or a legitimate pharmaceutical.
That was actually your own statement; you claimed you could step in and help people battling cancer, diabetes, and all that other stuff.

I’m merely offering a commentary on your assertions.
Despite the overwhelming influence held by Big Pharma, Herbalife makes a concerted effort to explain that through proper nutrition, people can actually take their health into their own hands—rather than just sitting around waiting on the mercy of a doctor or languishing on a six-month waiting list for a single appointment.

So, I suppose we should all just sit back and relax, because apparently, Herbalife is going to step in and fix the entire American healthcare system next.
The body is this perfect little machine, and if you feed it properly, it’ll run like a dream,

it’ll just start churning out antibodies against every possible ailment, becoming essentially immune to cancer like a Great White shark—because, obviously, we all know sharks survive solely on Herbalife shakes instead of actual prey, and then everything will be wonderful, a total utopia, and life will be so incredibly fantastic that I might actually pee myself from pure joy.
but even if that isn't the case, it’s not all lost, because the organism is constantly regenerating, and if you finally realize that and start giving it exactly what it craves, you can restore and heal it (rather than just "curing" it)...

So, basically, "if you use Herbalife, everything is perfect because you're using Herbalife, and if you don't, you've still got time to catch up!"
8 - don't act like a fool or you might end up staying one... oops, sorry, looks like I'm a bit late with that warning...

Wow, look how brilliant you are...
mistybear4 said:You’ve certainly demonstrated the full extent of your intellect, and frankly, I have no desire to dwell on it any longer; besides, being called stupid doesn't exactly rattle my nerves when I consider exactly who is doing the insulting.

😁

Mucek, if you actually believe this is enough to offend me... you’re seriously underestimating my intelligence. 😁
Besides, what on earth does any of that have to do with your carefully curated persona and your penchant for dishonesty?

Honestly, I could probably transcribe this statement word for word and claim it as my own; there’s something quite refreshing about seeing opponents actually show one another a modicum of respect for once.
Whether I’m being a bit much for certain people is a whole different conversation entirely...

Perhaps.

🤣
Does it actually matter to WHOM I am being this exhausting?

To everyone who isn't stuck in the endless grind of multi-level marketing.
Back in 1984, people treated the idea that omega-3s were actually good for you as if it were the most absurd, nonsensical claim ever uttered—which is hilarious, considering we now have decades of solid evidence proving it’s absolutely true. 😁

What a pathetic attempt at a disqualification—one built on absolutely zero facts and even fewer actual arguments, serving as nothing more than a desperate little performance to showcase how brilliant they think they are.
A total failure on every conceivable level.
So, we’re left staring down the barrel of the next five to ten years, aren't we? It really makes you wonder what kind of reality we’re actually going to wake up to when that time finally rolls around. 😁

Look, even if I were to somehow stumble upon the hidden benefits of multi-level marketing one day—an event about as likely as it raining axes from the sky—I still wouldn't dream of buying anything from someone who can't write a coherent sentence.

You’ve certainly made your level of literacy quite clear, so I think I’ll spare us both any further discussion on the matter.
And what exactly is all this foaming at the mouth about?
Of course, all of this happens within the controlled confines of a laboratory, but we really ought to be asking where the raw materials are actually coming from—whether they are being sourced directly from nature or pulled out of some mysterious "magic box."

You’ve clearly mastered the chemistry side of things, so I think we can officially retire that topic; I’ve evidently forgotten more about chemical structures than you'll ever manage to learn.
Don't go pinning me down over a passing comment I made in stride.

Well, welcome to the Internet.
But I'm quite certain that UCLA houses one of the most cutting-edge and prestigious labs of its kind in the entire world, so you don't necessarily have to agree with me—that’s entirely your own issue.

And what kind of argument is that, exactly?
To all the esteemed American nutrition experts out there, if you find my claims hard to swallow, feel free to use the email address for Dr. David Heber provided in this link and ask him whatever it is you won't take my word for...

And who might this illustrious doctor be?

I really have no desire to send an email to someone involved in Multi-level marketing... it would be a bit like asking a wolf if sheep are actually healthy, wouldn't it?
Is it not also true that diet can influence cancer rates??..

That isn't what I said.

What I actually said was that your precious Herbalife is undoubtedly a cure for cancer.

And AIDS, too.

Do try to pay closer attention to how I phrase things.
Perhaps you could educate yourselves a little by attending lectures hosted by my mentors:

So, your mentors are just various websites?

Just as I suspected...

Honestly, I am mesmerized by his sheer audacity.

You can have ten different people on this forum explaining exactly how exhausting and misguided he is, yet he just keeps charging ahead, completely unbothered...

Even when we catch him in a blatant lie or prove he hasn't the slightest clue what he's talking about, he just doubles down and carries on as if nothing happened...

It’s pure brass and a total Teflon personality...
mistybear4 said:just because I happen to know a thing or two about nutrition and wellness, it doesn't mean I'm right—though honestly, only a fool would actually buy into this idea that carrying "a few extra pounds is healthier than being at your ideal weight." 😉

So, let me get this straight... you actually believe that? 😁

There is a certain internal logic to the argument, I suppose...

Much like there is a certain logic to the claim that an average 5'3" person will outlive an average 6'0" person.

Only a complete idiot would dismiss an article without even bothering to read it... and it looks to me like that’s exactly what you’ve done. 😁
mistybear4 said:you're a regular genius 🙏 (though maybe only within certain niche circles) 😁

In case it hasn't clicked yet, I'm making a joke here because this entire study is nothing more than absolute nonsense that defies all common sense... and if you need proof, just look at how the link has already vanished from the internet... who knows what happened there, but we don't even know who authored this mess—it was probably some corporate fast-food chain looking for clicks—so please, don't waste your breath on such stupidity.. 😁

Do you follow me now? 🙂

The link didn't "vanish"; it's just that the OP can't find the article anymore because it was replaced by newer news updates.

If your strategy for mocking someone is to pretend you're the idiot, I have to admit, you're performing phenomenally well... though I'm genuinely curious how you can claim a study is garbage when you haven't even laid eyes on it.
How exactly does one conclude, "I haven't seen it, I don't know anything about it, therefore, it's total crap"?

Do you get it now?
mistybear4 said:Yeah, they’re claiming that according to some study, obesity causes 112,000 deaths in the US annually, while staying just slightly above an ideal weight prevents 86,000 deaths per year...

112,000 - 86,000 = 26,000
So, by that logic, we're left with 26,000 deaths of people who weren't actually obese, but just had a "few extra pounds" to spare??? 😕

👋

No.

Out of the total number of deaths x, 112,000 were caused specifically by obesity.
Obesity isn't just being a little soft; it’s a significant deviation from an ideal weight—one should probably check the medical definition, but I believe we're talking about being roughly 30% to 50% over the limit.

Carrying a few extra pounds does not qualify as obesity.

Furthermore, your math is fundamentally flawed, and frankly, it’s impossible for it to work that way; if obesity causes 112,000 deaths every year, then those people are dead, plain and simple.
The individuals who survived precisely because they carried a few extra pounds cannot be factored into that specific death toll; first off, carrying a few extra pounds isn't obesity, and second, you can't exactly resurrect the deceased just because they happened to be a couple of pounds heavier when they passed. Those people aren't included in the x representing the total death count simply because they haven't died yet..

Using Trimex along with Digestive Enzyme worked wonders for me as well!!!!!!!!

I spent my entire life wrestling with excess weight, trying every single fad diet and gimmick under the sun, only to face nothing but failure. That was until I finally decided to try your products. By pairing Trimex with Digestive Enzyme, the results were actually visible. TODAY, I AM A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON. I still maintain that this specific duo is the absolute right way to go. For anyone out there currently struggling with their weight, I can’t recommend these enough.
For more details, check out the link below👋

In much the same vein, I used to have absolute hell with my keyboard; I spent my whole life fighting an Enter key that constantly jammed, and nothing seemed to fix it. Then, I gave IBM's mechanical keyboard a shot. I paired that IBM keyboard with the gtypist software, and the difference was night and day. TODAY, I BARELY EVEN TOUCH THE CAPS LOCK KEY, except for the most extreme circumstances, and I always remember to put a space after my punctuation. I truly believe that combining these two tools is the winning strategy, especially when you're trying to polish up your spelling and grammar. To anyone having issues with their typing setup, I’d highly recommend this combo.

but regarding sugar—no matter how bitter the cocoa claims to be, they always sweeten it, because otherwise, it would be absolutely unpalatable.

A textbook example of this is that 99% dark chocolate... I couldn't bring myself to swallow even a single square, whereas my wife insists the stuff smells like dirty gym socks.😁

Utterly revolting...

And while we’re on the subject of sugar content in our food supply... a buddy of mine who works in bottling—specifically filling things like Coca-Cola—told me just how much sugar they dump into those bottles: it reaches about a quarter of the way up the container.
All those little numbers on the nutrition facts labels never really registered for me; seeing him show me the actual volume of sugar going into the bottle made everything crystal clear.

It's chilling.

Finally, I'll wrap this up by dissecting mistybear4. Please, don't come for me over any dietary inaccuracies, given that this thread isn't even about nutrition to begin with.😉

Marijuana legalization in Health ·
To be perfectly honest, I’ve always had a certain curiosity regarding marijuana legalization and whether I might actually enjoy the experience.

However.

The reality is that I have absolutely no idea how to inhale smoke, and frankly, the whole business of smoking just irritates me.

If it were an option, I think I’d much prefer edibles.
Or perhaps just the seeds.

Regardless of whatever psychoactive effects they might have, who knows—maybe I’d find the seeds themselves quite tasty, sort of like snacking on some pumpkin seeds.

I haven't actually tried anything, of course, mainly because it isn't legal to acquire it here.

As for everyone else, they can smoke whatever they want, provided I don't have to breathe in their clouds; essentially, they should just stick to doing it in their own homes.

Personally, I would advocate for a total ban on public smoking—whether you're at a local pub, on a college campus like MIT, or just standing on a street corner... everywhere except for one's own house.
Marijuana legalization in Health ·
I neglected to mention that I’d be handing out the drugs free of charge.

What an absolute train wreck of a situation; honestly, I’m almost impressed by how spectacularly they managed to mess this up.

Here you go—go ahead and kill yourself.

Just to be clear, the substances I’ve listed here aren't ranked by their legal status—because let's face it, the law doesn't care about science—but rather by how much of a physiological nightmare they are to actually quit.
While I certainly appreciate the elegance of a meticulous, point-for-point analysis, I’d much prefer you just skip the whole exercise if you haven't quite grasped the nuances of what's being discussed.

Let’s be clear: being a petty offender doesn't automatically make someone a criminal.
There is a massive, fundamental difference between committing a minor infraction and actually committing a crime.
Marijuana legalization in Health ·
Look, being an addict doesn't automatically make someone a criminal.
Furthermore, I’d argue that people aren't always the sole architects of their own addiction.

In my view, any drug intended for personal use should be decriminalized; we ought to stop wasting resources prosecuting users and instead focus our judicial might on the dealers.
Addicts need medical treatment, not a jail cell.

On a related note, smoking should probably be illegal—it’s a substance that poisons not just the user, but everyone standing nearby—and the same could be said for alcohol.
Then again, I have no idea how one would even go about illegalizing alcohol given how deeply it's woven into the fabric of American culture, but at the very least, being drunk shouldn't serve as a convenient excuse in a courtroom. People, seriously, that is a highly questionable mitigating circumstance; if drinking ruins you, then simply don't drink.

By the way, does anyone actually know the hierarchy of how difficult it is to kick these various substances?
1. Alcohol—an alcoholic is never truly "former," only "in recovery."
2. Nicotine—roughly 5 to 10 years.
3. Heroin—about 2 to 5 years.
4. Cocaine.
5. Caffeine.

It is worth noting that out of the five most addictive substances listed here, three are perfectly legal. Especially those first two.

Now, marijuana causes dependency; that is an objective fact. However, I fail to see any logical reason why we shouldn't allow people the freedom to destroy themselves however they see fit. Drugs are essentially instruments of slow-motion suicide; perhaps a bit delayed, certainly, but undeniably effective. Ultimately, it will just leave more breathing room on this planet for the rest of us.

I’ve gone and posted a review way too early... what is this, page 28 of the script?

Alright then.

No critique coming.

The movie rules.

I walked out of the theater with my jaw hitting the floor, and honestly, it took me a good two hours just to manage to close it back up.

It’s just that good.

And Lucy Liu... man, she was absolutely incredible...

Yeah.

The music is so damn good that I actually recorded the fourth track on my phone—you know, that whistling part at the beginning when she’s walking and walking and walking with the eye patch—and set it as my ringtone.

Any more questions?

How can you even know, then? I’ve noticed plenty of people on this forum claiming things like "we are garbage" or "we are this" or "we are that," when they really ought to be asking themselves if they possess any actual, indisputable benchmark to justify such sweeping assertions.

Wait.
So now you require a reference.

If you are going to insist on dismissing every single civilization except for Western/Anglo-American ones—which is, frankly, incredibly foolish—then perhaps you should look toward the very foundations of our own society, such as the Bill of Rights or similar documents that establish our core civilized norms.

Then, take our so-called civilization, which clearly fails to follow the very rules it set for itself.

And after all that, please, do tell me: what's your point?

how would we know good from evil—if there were only one of the two?

How could anyone know darkness is dark if light existed?

And who says there is only one?
Who says there is even one thing at all?
But in this specific instance, a reference does exist; the fact that you are far too blind to perceive it is entirely your own shortcoming.

[1] Yes, blind. I suppose that explains why you're wearing that ridiculous signature.
