Good grief, you guys! Can't you all just be as forgetful as I am? :2up: From tomorrow night through Sunday, I’m going to be out of town. On Monday, I can't take my dog anywhere, so I'm stuck, and then I'm heading out again on Tuesday. It’s either that, or I shouldn't be online at all, though honestly, under those conditions, I think being able to log on makes everything a bit easier to handle... 😁😁😁 Ladies, don't worry about it. You can see that even Kenneth Hernandez67 didn't end up killing anyone, even after she gave it a shot. 😁
I know. 😢 And you're right about that. But I'm actually out of town for the long weekend, and I am not about to let this ruin my trip. If I have to crash and burn—whatever. 😁 But next week, I’m going to try to force myself to go. Like, I’ll literally have to make myself do it... Usually, I don't even bother seeing a doctor unless someone practically drags me to the clinic by my arm... I'm scared, honestly. And besides that, I'm pretty convinced that the more often you deal with them, the more they just mess with your head. I hope the doctors here can forgive me for thinking that. 😁 I feel like I was just talking nonsense earlier, and now I'm just sitting here at home waiting for something bad to happen. Ugh, what an idiot.
Next week. Honestly, nothing short of death could ruin my weekend at this point. 😁 My feet are more or less fine now, but everything else has started acting up. It’s just like owning an old clunker. Once things start breaking down like this, you can try to patch it up, but it's usually better to just cut your losses and buy a new one.
(If any of this gets back to my husband, I am going to absolutely lose it on him. Kenneth Hernandez67 told me how to handle it. 😁)
But since I’m terrified of doctors, I’ll probably end up being a total Soraja, and nobody will believe me when it happens. 😁
Hehe, I’m just picturing them burying me in a T-shirt with the IMF logo on it... 😁😁😁 Kenneth Hernandez67, wearing Junior's sneakers, kicks some dirt onto the grave and yells, "Go to hell! You're better off dead than paying for coffee!" allegra: "And I told her to go to the doctor! I specifically told her!" Tija tosses a wreath shaped like a breast into the grave: "Catch ya later, babe!" Andrew Anderson66: "Damn, my blood pressure is hitting 80/60 just like hers was! 😱" mellowwalker22 pours apple cider over the grave... Solaris performs CPR on some little doll three graves away... Thomas Mendoza5, hands in his pockets: "Who cares about Pesica? Anyone got a joint?"
I haven't made it there yet. 😁 Things have quieted down quite a bit lately, which usually tells me I’ve got some breathing room, but it hasn't gone completely silent just yet... so maybe that's my sign that I really need to go... :2up:
I should know for sure sometime next week. Hopefully.
Man, I actually just called them and was about to place an order. *drools* Last time, they gave me a specific appointment, and then I ended up sitting around for half an hour just waiting for them to get their act together. Now, apparently, they’ve scrapped that whole system. The lady on the phone told me they aren't doing appointments anymore—she basically said I should just show up whenever and grab whatever I can. Pretty clever move on her part, right? If that's how it works, then I'll probably be pulling up to her door around 7 on Tuesday (don't quote me on that though, I'm still trying to work up the nerve... 😁) hopefully I won't be twenty minutes late... 😁
And what about the edema? Does it go down if you keep your feet elevated?
No. That day I made my first post, I woke up with bumps all over.
How long has this been going on, and can you link it to anything specific?
The last few days, just like I said. It’s never happened before and I can't connect it to anything, which is why I'm here asking what it could be, since everything else seems fine otherwise.
If it were a heart issue (like insufficiency), there would be other symptoms too, fatigue, shortness of breath during exertion,......
Oh, when I push myself, I get winded, but that's been the case for 20 years, and considering how much I smoke, I'm doing alright for now. 😁
maybe some metabolic disorder?
Slightly.
or just idiopathic static edema? you mentioned you don't move around much, maybe that's it.
Jeep, I'm an idiot and that's why I'm suffering, it is what it is. 😁 I move around normally for someone who isn't an athlete, but it's been that way for years. Why would my feet suddenly decide to react now? Though, I guess it has to happen for the first time eventually... 😁
whatever the case may be, go to the doctor, they won't bite 😁 , just a few simple tests to start with 😉
I am afraid. 😲 But I will go. I can kick you guys out with one click of a mouse 😁, but it's a bit harder with my husband, and he's pushing me to go right now too... 😢 Should I get a dummy for him too? 😁
🆙 It’s just not right. Where does Milton Breuer live? I feel like heading over there and knocking on his door myself. 😁 I would honestly love to watch that movie again. It's such a shame that here in America, you can find every bit of low-quality garbage imaginable, yet all the good stuff we produce gets completely ignored...
Not at all. And I mean that literally. 😁 I inherited my feet from my mother, though thankfully not her size 9s. 😁 They’re just all bone... there isn't a single ounce of cushion on them. You can see every bone and every little vein popping out in relief. It's gross, honestly. Just not a good look. Anyway, when everything suddenly looks smooth and plump, it really stands out. (And it actually looks way better than usual. 😁)
I actually overslept this morning. I just woke up and I'm sitting here having my coffee. Part of me wants to call the doctor just to express my shock that I didn't sleep straight through until noon. Right now, the left one looks normal. On the right, there's still a tiny bit of swelling around the ankle, but you'd only notice if you were really looking closely and comparing the two. Whatever happened, it seems like it's passing for now. I'm still going to go see the doctor, though maybe not today. Once I finish this coffee, I'll give them a call. Maybe they can squeeze me in for a few minutes tomorrow.
So, thanks so much everyone, and once I get my test results back, I'll let you know what was going on. 🙂
As for an insect bite, I can't even imagine. Usually, you feel it when something bites you or you see a mark, and I'm not even that sensitive. To be fair, the last time something bit me was ages ago, but I've never had issues like this before. The spot just got swollen or itchy or whatever, but that was it. It cleared up in a day or two without any extra drama.
Any thoughts on where I could track this down? Please don't tell me I have to hunt through some local video rental shop... since I'm not in the US right now, and even if I were, I really want a copy for my own collection at home. 🙂
Taylor Doyle9 said:By the way, how’s everything going?
I'm still feeling totally wiped out. 😁 If they end up letting me go, I'll be walking on eggshells at home... 😁
I couldn't even bring myself to tell my husband what I was asking you guys or what you all said. Now he's actually insisting I go see a doctor. 😲 Instead of just pitching me another life insurance policy and waiting things out... 😁 Honestly, the man has zero business sense. I spent all last month trying to talk him into making that big move to China for work. 😁
Adam Rogers2 said:If you press down on that swelling, does it leave an indentation or does it snap back right away?
It snaps right back. Is that actually a good thing or a bad sign? 😁 My husband definitely isn't going to be typing anything useful anytime soon, so don't worry about him... even if I am truly on my last legs here... He doesn't even know where this forum is located. 😁
Thanks 😘, but where would you even look for it? 😁 I’d probably have to order it from overseas. Then again, who knows if this is just a fluke or an actual pattern... I'm not sure if oats can even make that much of a difference...
I was at the grocery store a little while ago and my toes just cramped up on me. It wasn't even because we were talking about it today—I forgot to mention that it's been happening more often lately—but it passes after a few minutes, and every single time I just tell myself, "dammit, it's just getting old." 😁 It never really crossed my mind that age might not be the culprit here.
granitebadger25, that leg stretch recipe of yours isn't doing much, but when I'm sitting down with my legs tucked and I lift my toes, I feel something in one specific spot on my leg. It’s not exactly intense pain, but there's definitely a dull ache there. Is it worth trying anything else? 😁 Just asking while I've got you... looks like my doctor isn't exactly a fountain of wisdom... 😢 😲
Honestly, none of that... I haven't had any of those in quite a while. Just the regular sugar in my coffee and some iced tea that I've been sipping on for a bit now. *cough* I actually picked up a different brand the other day because the shop I went to didn't have my usual one, but I’d had that one before too, so there wasn't really any reaction.
I'm heading to the doctor tomorrow, so I'll let you guys know how it goes—assuming they actually find anything...
Ree, they’ve been rated now, so things are getting a little more intense... It’s such a shame you aren’t right here with me. I’d love to give you a proper little taste, starting with my left one since it's the smaller of the two—just enough to tease you before I follow up with the right... I'll make sure you get exactly what you're craving! *spit* 🙂
Jack Harris3 said:Come on now, it’s okay if you have something to be afraid of... 😁 but you aren't even worried about the vet, right?
It isn't fear—it's just total panic! 😁 Doctors and actual illnesses are pretty much the only things that make me lose my cool... really nothing else does. Actually, wait... even bugs get to me... 😁
P.S. Someone just told me that if it's thrombosis, the clot could actually travel up... I'll probably be sleeping standing up tonight just to make things easier for him.
allegra said:Jack Harris3, quit messing around and just go see a doctor... seriously, don't worry, we'll make sure you get a custom suit tailored just for you on Fifth Avenue 😉
I'm heading in next week if things don't improve. I promise. And hey, if they end up locking me up somewhere, I'm bringing my laptop along. 😁
Jack Harris3 said:This could potentially be something else 😢 (ugh, I really hope not...) and please correct me if I'm wrong, medical folks: when you have heart failure on one side—I think it’s the left side, but I can't be totally sure—it can cause symmetrical swelling in the ankles... I also think people tend to notice they're getting up to pee more often at night.
Frequent urination is pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary, and the swelling isn't actually symmetrical. It's both legs, sure, but the right one is clearly more swollen than the left. And honestly, just a little while ago, I was thinking it would almost make sense for only the affected side to swell if it were thrombosis. Ugh, I just hate dealing with illnesses and all this stuff... I've never really been someone who cared much about medical topics or anything like that. 😢
Andrew Anderson6 said:It could be... Have you ever dealt with leg cramps (or even foot cramps) especially during the night???
My legs. It’s happened twice before, maybe five years apart. The last time was just a few months ago, but someone told me it was probably just a magnesium deficiency, so I didn't really think much of it. 😁
Oh man, don't tell me to go see a doctor! I am terrified of doctors. 😲
I'm not questioning the core issue or anything since I don't have any other symptoms or complaints (though clearly something isn't quite right), but I figured I'd ask you guys because you all know way more than I do... and honestly, blood clots seem like the most logical explanation for what's happening.
I just tried that thing with stretching my legs out. No pain at all, just that feeling of my calf and thigh muscles tightening up... which makes sense since I'm just a lazy pig who never gets any exercise.
I just thought about this P.S. part a second ago. 😁 Forget this forum and bad luck, if there really is something wrong with me, I'm just gonna log off! 🙄😁
Nothing really hurts, and everything else seems totally fine. My face isn't puffy or anything, nothing is swollen elsewhere, I can't feel any lumps, and my blood pressure stays low. I don't have varicose veins, at least nothing visible on my legs, thighs, or wherever they usually show up. 😁 No other weird signs anywhere... just swollen feet throughout the day and thicker calves. They looked perfectly normal when I woke up this morning.
A blood clot might actually make sense in my case... I smoke like a Turk, and I've always been pretty bad about drinking enough water, though I've tried to drink more lately... Maybe something thickened up or some little vessel got blocked. Does anyone know what other symptoms I should be looking out for?
granitebadger25, give me whatever you've got. It could be a doctor, a vet, or even some old-school folk healer, I honestly don't care. 😁
P.S. I'm not on any pills. I smoke way too much to ever consider something that might make my breasts grow... 😁
Leon, from what I can tell, doesn't really make bad movies. 😁 I think I've only seen maybe two or three that weren't my thing, but everything else? Totally great. I actually wanted to pick up Yojimbo the other day as part of a set with Hidden Fortress, but the seller was being a bit much with the price. *spits* Oh well, I'll snag it eventually... They never seem to air his stuff on TV here, either. It's such a shame. They just don't get it.
