Spirituality and money in Spirituality ·
wearyowl29 said:Why is there this idea that if you're actually chasing spirituality, you have to be broke?

They really don't.
Money itself isn't the issue here... it's more about how you look at it and where it sits on your list of priorities. 🙂
redowl90 said:To be honest, I still find that movie pretty boring even today...

It surprises me, though, since you don't usually strike me as someone who goes for "shallow" movies. Blade Runner is such a beautifully dark, humorless experience... perfect for your taste. Plus, you can spend ages just debating whether Deckard is a replicant or not. 😁🙂
silentpilot6 said:Honestly, I think the Lord of the Rings movies are absolute garbage. They’re just watered-down versions made for the masses, directed by someone who understands the fantasy genre about as well as I understand Nikita Khrushchev's sex life. He just picked through the genius Tolkien whenever it suited him, and all the changes they made feel like something out of an elementary school classroom... totally lacking any soul or imagination.

👍 🙏
Conan the Barbarian is ten times better and actually feels "real." Plus, the soundtrack is insane. 😁

The Lord of the Rings books have plenty of flaws and plot holes (I mean, Peter Jackson's only smart move was cutting Tom Bombadil—personally, I would've cut him from the books too 😁), but they managed to build this specific atmosphere while reading that the movies just can't touch... not even close.
As much as those books are cult classics to me, the movies are just trash. 😁
I'm not even sure I would've liked them if I hadn't read the books first.
Even having really good cinematography doesn't help that much...
I ended up picking up Harry Potter 2 today and went straight back into it, then finally sat down for El Dorado right after. It was definitely about time...
I honestly think the animation is wild, and I actually loved that bonus feature showing how much Val Kilmer and Branagh (and everyone else) were just messing around during the dubbing process. 🙂

It was about time... 😁🙂

Anyway, I finally sat down and watched The Brotherhood of Wolves yesterday.
With all the hype people were giving it, I was expecting something way more impactful, but honestly... it didn't really move the needle for me. They clearly put in the work, you can tell, but the overall vibe was just totally mediocre. At least for me...

Saw this in theaters recently: dare Devil
Total trash. Such a waste of money, though the popcorn was good.

100 women, 200 guys...

Man, I totally missed the boat on this forum! My bad. 😁

ATTACHMENT to anything at all, even those so-called spiritual goals or ambitions.

I'm right there with you. 😁
Plus, setting a goal is basically just creating a limit for yourself.
And I've never been one for letting anything hold me back... 😁

Exactly.
I honestly don't see where laziness or fear of change comes into this at all...
Change is pretty much inevitable unless you've gone out of your way to cement your spirit in one spot and refuse to budge.

Ryan Wilson2 said:What exactly are you guys doing to "ascend"?

I just exist.
But since I’m not doing that on purpose, I guess you could say I’m doing nothing at all... 😁

Look, even hiddenpuma75 isn't doing anything! This whole place is just a bunch of lazy people... 😁 🙂

Don't sweat it, Matthew Doyle73. You can always speak your mind here. I mean, maybe there are just a few certain topics you might want to steer clear of... 😁😁😁

Wizard felt that witches should be able to hold their own against anyone, and he never had any interest in just wiping out some random fool or provocateur.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to extend the agreement I made with Wizard to all of you too.
I don't intend to stick my nose into your business; I'll only step in if you actually ask me to.

To be more specific: I'll be acting on requests from Solaris, since she's the one starting the new topics...

Well, there's one.
The previous one is shut down, and honestly, that "pirate edition" thing is just a joke anyway. 😁
Since there’s talk about opening up a specific sub-forum if enough people want it, the pirates will probably just be moved over then. For now, I'm just waiting to see if they actually decide to open it or not... so until then, let it stay as it is.

Slaughtering a black chicken? 😲 😁
Just so we're all clear... if I see any blood, I’m probably going to pass out right then and there.

I think... I might actually be the only one here who caught what he was trying to get at, right? 😁
Maybe if you let the stuntman explain how training wheels work—like, maybe you only truly learn to ride once those things are gone... 😁
The training wheels are the vegetables...
And look, this is a public forum, for goodness' sake, we should probably keep that in mind... 😁
