Hehe, Charles Sanchez6, that whole "his name is Potter, Harry Potter" vibe will probably carry on through the entire series... he’ll always seem to be in the right place at just the right moment. 😁 Or maybe something else pulls him into the fray... Personally, I found the second installment way more fun than the first. Beyond the visuals being absolutely wild, I actually enjoyed having two villains to root against: Snape and Malfoy senior. Some friends who've already read the book told me both of them will get much more screen time in the third part. And honestly? Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy is spot on. He totally nailed it. 😁
A few friends were raving about Dobby, calling him some kind of massive achievement for CGI... Ugh, please. If they wanted me to think he was actually impressive, he’d have to look a lot less fake. It would've been better if they just hired a little person to play him... 😁
Whoa there, slow down! You’ve got to actually write a post first... We aren't exactly taking your word for anything right out of the gate, especially since you're coming straight from the New York Times. 😁🙂
Carl Bennett78, the last movie I caught was Clerks. 😁 After that whole embarrassing moment where I mixed up Hicks with Alighieri, I really had to go back and fill in those blanks in my brain... 🙄 It was such a clever little joke, honestly, nothing more to say about it. Plus, I learned once and for all that smoking isn't actually sexy. 😁 I just wish Jay hadn't gotten on my nerves quite so much... He’s way better in Dogma, though I still need to catch the rest.
Gangs of New York. A buddy told me I’d absolutely love it, but after catching the trailer, I’m honestly not so sure if it’s my vibe (*spits* @redowl90)... plus, it’s four hours long? We'll see...
Wait, didn't Charlton Heston have a watch on his wrist? Or did I just mix that up with something else... 20. Frank Sinatra 40. The Who 49. George Lazenby is from Australia
How on earth can you be so sure that LeBron is moderating for free? Honestly, who really knows what they’re paying him... He might even be pulling in a monthly salary while I’m out here struggling just to get by... 😢😁
Semiflexible said:.. there’s got to be some kind of payoff for them in all of this .. maybe I’ve just been jaded by my surroundings 😁 , but I can't wrap my head around the idea that people would do this purely out of passion .. sure, the benefit might not be huge or immediate, but it has to be there somewhere ..
Yeah, I used to think the same way, especially living abroad where this whole forum is basically kept afloat by just two main sponsors. It’s nothing like how things work back in the States. 😢
Back in the day, it would have been just like what Sandra said: we'd just say thanks to Anderlon. 😁
Just because they serve you doesn't mean they like you.
Hmm... I guess 😁Clerks😁 must be some movie about moderators. 😁 I really need to finally sit down and watch it. It’s embarrassing... feels like everyone else has seen it already except me. 🙄
I’ve always been a bit of a social butterfly. 😁😁😁 To put it simply... I can navigate just about any crowd or social circle without ever losing who I actually am at my core. 🙂 For me, character is everything. When I'm looking for close friends, that's pretty much my number one rule. Swimming against the tide? Yeah, I can do that. I live by my own conscience and what I believe in, so if I have to stand my ground against everyone and everything to defend it, then that’s just what I’ll do. I’m certainly not going to jump on some bandwagon just to look "cool" or act different from the crowd for the sake of it. Sometimes I go along with the pack, and sometimes I don't... It doesn't really exhaust me, though... 🙂
Personally, I think Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets beats the first one any day... 🙂 I actually prefer Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade over the original, too, but I have zero interest in ever sitting through the second one again. 😁 For me, The Godfather remains the absolute king, even if pretty much everyone else I know thinks the sequel is better.
FDTD is such a killer movie... right up until the vampires show up. Then it just turns into absolute garbage. Even having Salma on screen can't save it from that mess. 😢 If only the beginning wasn't so damn good, I could have just walked away, but instead, it just leaves me feeling pissed off. Honestly, if I ever ran into Rodriguez or Tarantino in person, I’d probably want to deck them both... 😠
Then you watch TLOTR and those orc brothers look exactly like the vampires from FDTD. There's just no way I can call that movie any good, regardless of how much I liked the rest of it. 😁
(No content provided to rewrite) Back in the day, nothing really beat a good old DVD... or maybe DivX was actually the king... I don't get out to the movie theater all that often, unfortunately... I just can't stand watching movies with dubbed audio. It totally ruins the experience for me... There are really only two theaters in New York City that actually nail that "original" vibe...
Not a single one at my place either... damn them! 😠 So, I’m still a DVD and DivX guy myself, though I’ll admit I occasionally catch something on the TV... very rarely, mind you... or maybe I'll pop one of those old home-recorded tapes I synced up myself into a player... 🙄
