driftingeagle27 said:It’s funny... people are always bringing up these supposed "insults" of mine, but there isn't a single shred of evidence. Seriously, can someone just point out where I actually insulted anyone on this forum?
Well, I don't have the specific quote right in front of me; it's just a memory of some old posts from the previous forum. 😁 It doesn't really matter though, and besides, that was just a private comment. 😁
That’s not the same thing as ruggedjackal46 claiming I'm a BAD PERSON. I mean, seriously, what kind of way is that to behave!???
It would be perfect if instead of acting like a prima donna, you just asked things like, "How do you know that?" or "What makes you say that?" or something like that... 😛
It's not unrelated at all—I swear—because within seconds of seeing an emoji post, he came running to express his total enthusiasm for ruggedjackal46's INSULT (without the quotes)! Right here on THIS thread!
I saw both the emoji and the short text post. But instead of addressing that, you went straight for a full-on critique of his character and actions on this forum. 😁😛 Pretty relevant, honestly. But let's not nitpick... you're clearly too smart to misunderstand what the guy is saying, so let's leave the childishness to those who can't see any further than that. 😁
Fortunately, I'm very well informed about what's being said behind my back on this forum, and I know FOR A FACT that they WERE looking for this. Don't lie.
Well, looks like your informant gave you slightly wrong info. You'll have to ask them why... They weren't looking for it.
This is fascinatingly weird. From what I can tell, there are a few characters who want me "kicked out," and these people are clearly among those who apparently make sure to read every single one of my posts on the forum as soon as they drop! What's most interesting is that they don't seem to realize the glaring "paradox" here. You know, beginner-level hypocrisy. Disgusting.
LOL Bunny, it's always like that with you. Once you've offended someone, suddenly you're reading them word for word. 😁 Who wouldn't want to see you gone? I don't know... but you're probably right that not many people would be crying your tears. Man, you are charming. 😁
driftingeagle27 said:telling me I'm an IRREDEEMABLE BAD PERSON even though we've never actually met or even spoken. (Seriously, try to come up with a harder insult than that. It just doesn't work, right?)
Oh, please, stop playing the innocent victim. If only your insults—whenever you actually manage to offend someone—stayed within reason, that would be great. 🙂 I don't know you Personal either, but from what I can tell through this forum, you're just a chronic provocateur and a troublemaker. So? If you don't like your description, maybe ask yourself why it fits so well... 😛
4) My reaction is one of pure shock and outrage, which is totally logical, while also bringing up some undeniable facts about Teen Spirit.
Your "outrage" definitely deserves an Oscar. 😛 Do those facts about Teen Spirit have anything to do with the movie or ruggedjackal46's "insult"? Of course not, but it gave you the perfect excuse to dump everything you had on them...
5) And now I hear that ruggedjackal46 and Teen Spirit are going behind my back, trying to get ME banned from the forum!
You heard wrong. They never asked for that. Now, if they were celebrating the idea of someone getting kicked out, that would be a different story... 😁
Rabbit, the movie is basically a Bob Dylan flick, so we really shouldn't be surprised if it's not your cup of tea. 😁 But plenty of people actually dig it... so why does it have to bother you so much? Why are you always picking on someone? Just let people enjoy their little guilty pleasures if that's what they want... it doesn't hurt anyone. 🙄 You've got a point there. We aren't in kindergarten, so there's really no need to act like our preschool teacher.
And as for everyone else, if the movie is a dud to Rabbit, why on earth are you taking it personally? He’s allowed to hate it... so what?

Personally, Belmondo was never really my thing, but Leon is easily one of my all-time favorites. No matter how many times I watch it, those same beats get me every single time. 😁 Anyone else familiar with it?
Man, I haven't seen that movie in forever! But I do remember it being absolutely wild. It actually came out on DVD, though I totally blanked on picking it up... thanks for the reminder, honestly. 😁
Oprah would...
I'm not even going to try. You might have a shot at it, but I know when I'm out of luck... 😁
I really wish I didn't have to go out and buy 😁 Rollerball. 😢Night of the Hunter and Paths of Glory are both on my list—I've somehow managed to miss them both until now... Mutiny on the Bounty (that old one with Laurence Olivier) ... and Ran (haven't seen that one either) . Then there's the whole run of Chaplin's films, which I just can't seem to get through... Star Wars: Episodes IV through VI . Well, there's plenty more where that came from... 😁
[ graniteangler10 said:"]I didn't really get that vibe... it's not like you can just sit down and say, "Alright, I'm gonna make a masterpiece right now!" 😁
Honestly, those classic French films? They’re all little masterpieces. 😁 (Generalizing here, obviously...) Newer stuff isn't quite there—though there are exceptions. The thing is, those filmmakers really have an eye for what makes a movie work. Even when they're working in Hollywood. J. Annaudov's La Rose is actually one of my favorites... 😁 Or Truffaut's Fahrenheit 451... (Look, PBE, I know you think Jules & Jim is better. 😛) I can't really think of any others off the top of my head, but there's definitely some great stuff in French cinema.
You’re missing one small detail here... from what I gather, the author isn't trying to tear down Native American beliefs just to push Christianity. He just wanted to show us how other cultures experience faith. It might seem hard to believe, but there are people out there who find this stuff genuinely fascinating, without immediately labeling it as satanic or acting all self-righteous because something different exists. I mean, none of us are going to go out and dig a hole in a hillside to hide in for four days, but why shouldn't we be allowed to understand how the Native Americans viewed the spiritual realm? Plus, there are actually quite a few parallels with our own faith. If you really want my take, I think they were actually closer to nature and to God than we are... and they only started heading down a dark path once they encountered white settlers and picked up some of their worst traits. 😁
Look, you already said you aren't interested, that this is all a waste of time, whatever. We get it, we heard you, we don't care... so you can just stop now. Goodbye. 🙂 Nobody is forcing you to read any of this, and if you think you're going to leave snarky comments like that under every single post, just know how I'm going to react... so save your breath. 🙂
And I’m fully prepared to be the villain here: I actually don't like beer. It’s just not my thing. Is there any chance I could get some of that Grasevin grape juice instead? 😁
The only way I’m staying in bed all day is if some knight comes along to whisk me away... 😁
Seriously, why are you guys piling on poor Howard like that? It’s your own fault for posting such mindless garbage. 😁 And Ryan Wilson2, you really have no room to talk. Some people post all day long, and Howard just ruthlessly sweeps them right to the bottom of the pile. You walk into a local pub, order a beer, and you're already at level three. Just imagine where you'd be if you actually bothered to write a post... 😁 As for me, I don't know what my standing is—not even poor Howard knows that—but if life ever forces me into a bus with hiddenpuma75, I know my level will be way lower than his. 😁😁 😁 Cheers to you, Howard. 😁
Come on, come on... she basically went out of her way to tell you you're crazy. There’s something almost polite about it when someone puts that much effort into insulting you. It’s a lot easier to just bark things directly at people like I do. 😁
But as far as my take on you goes, I definitely don't see you the way PBE does.
I guess we could say that what's considered "normal" or "healthy" really just boils down to how an individual perceives it... 😁
Haha, I’m definitely team white grapes. 😁 Based on the few posts you've made that weren't strictly about the current state of global economics, I think I actually agree with hiddenpuma75 on this one... It’s a shame you aren't more of a firebrand, though, if I'm being honest. On one hand, it's a missed opportunity, but then again, I can't say I'm surprised... 🙂
hiddenpuma75 said:(I’m honestly curious if they’ll even track us down on this thread... wondering what kind of lecture or punishment awaits the two sinners here...) 😎 😉 👍
(The way he puts it, though... it's not a sin, because it's just "natural" 🙂 as opposed to being unnatural...) (And honestly, it feels like quite an achievement that we actually managed to read his book.)
I think you're being a little unfair to him. His whole point is that we belong to this world, so it’s no surprise we act the way we do... and since he's such a humble guy, he’d probably just suggest the best reading material out there: the Bible. Maybe if he's feeling generous, he might even point us toward a specific part... like Song of Solomon... 😁
If that was the case, why did you leave Washington, D.C.? I ended up moving there just a few days later... 😢 Couldn't find you, and couldn't find Lukicev's book either. I went looking for it... 😁
I haven't actually read the book (obviously 🙄), and I didn't even know where that quote came from, but I can absolutely get behind the sentiment... That said, a motto doesn't really tell you much about a person, especially if they just lifted it from somewhere else. One of my favorite mottos actually belongs to a good friend of mine: "Never argue with idiots. They will pull you down to their level and then beat you with experience." No clue who originally said it, but I love it. Thankfully, it isn't my own personal motto... otherwise, I'd have to live by it all the time. 😁
