So, what’s really the big difference between a burger and a pie? 🤔

Hey everyone, what do you guys call this thing?🍿

A grasshopper!

Wouldn't you agree that it’s much better to live a full, hundred-year life surrounded by luxury than to just spend five days struggling through poverty?

Man, isn't that just absolutely brutal? 🤣

Anthony Nguyen81 said:Why on earth would you ever stress yourself out by tackling today's chores when you could just push them off until the day after tomorrow and enjoy a little extra peace and quiet right now? 😬

Oh, we can totally throw in some fun little idioms like that too, don't you think?!

Is there anything more frustrating than being way too early for the bus only to realize you've just spent extra time standing on a lonely corner waiting? Isn't it funny how the early bird sometimes ends up waiting much longer than everyone else!

I mean, isn't the funniest kind of joke the one where you actually need a manual just to figure out why it's supposed to be funny? ☕

😁

It's so cringey, yet somehow that's the whole point, right? ☕

So yeah, I wasn't sure if people would even remember that old commercial or if they'd catch the vibe at all! 😁

Alright, I'll admit it, my attempt at being clever totally flopped.

But you have to hand it to them, that ad was incredibly persistent, wasn't it?

Well, if you ask me, I actually think that's a great idea because things change way too fast in those single sentences, don't you think? It’s like someone adds something new every half second, making it impossible for a real story to flow naturally when you're jumping from broken teeth to a trip to India and then straight to some dive bars all in just two lines! It ends up being nothing more than a giant list of everything Grandma did, like "this happened, then that happened," without any real substance.

Maybe it would be better to set a rule where everyone has to write a paragraph of at least 100 words, so there might actually be a cohesive thread to follow...

Oh my gosh, I just remembered one!
It’s not even that hilarious, it’s just kind of cute:

When people are just grabbing a bite to eat, they aren't thinking about crime at all.

So, there was this deli meat brand—let's call it Slim Jim—and they made this commercial where they linked the meat to the police, featuring officers eating sandwiches with it (so, you know, definitely not thinking about anything criminal)!

But seriously, is it even funny anymore when I have to explain it like this, almost like the punchline just evaporated into thin air?

haha, he actually already gave an example (this whole delanje thing), but it was so vague that nobody could make heads or tails of it!

🤣

I'm totally lost 😢
maybe we really do need more examples so we can wrap our heads around just how massive the scope of these ridiculous signs and stuff is, right?
don't you think it would help to know what they can actually refer to?

Now all I can think about is that Jollibee commercial because of what lujzin mentioned!

Honestly, I really think the whole issue boils down to this: if a certain group just doesn't vibe with you, they figure it's way easier to just cut you loose than to try and overhaul an entire department or project team, don't you think? It's less about whether you actually offended anyone and more about them choosing the path of least resistance! It’s such a tricky spot to be in when you have your own unique way of communicating and you simply don't care whether you're everyone's cup of tea—you're just being yourself—but people have already made up their minds about you.

Paul Scott4 said:Are you feeling powerless? Does reopening this whole topic suddenly make you feel like you've become Superman, Trump, or some male version of Merkel?

What would this "debate" between people who haven't actually accomplished anything on some obscure internet forum even mean for the "greater good of the community" anyway?!

What, are you going to suggest we slaughter all the cows again, or talk about sorting recycling and other nonsense, as if we haven't heard that exact same thing a billion times from a billion different sources? Nobody has moved a single muscle so far, but now suddenly everyone cares just because some velvetbear372 from a Reddit thread bolded it? 🤦

Man, if you really want someone to notice you, why on earth are you rambling away on a forum? It’s so easy to go viral these days!

Just grab a sign, a megaphone, stand in the middle of a busy town square, and start shouting everything you're blathering about here. As someone working in journalism, I guarantee you'll end up on every news site out there, and probably even on some major commercial TV news stations too!

Exactly. Stepping away from the forums is always a productive move 🙂

And as for the forums themselves, why don't you just start a new thread wherever you actually want to talk and maybe drop a link to this locked one, instead of all this drama and begging?

Here was the breakdown of the arguments:
- Women who already have kids don't feel that biological clock ticking quite as loudly, so they aren't frantically chasing the last train out, and men find that relaxed energy really attractive.
- Married women tend to have fewer heavy expectations regarding commitment right off the bat, making it way easier for guys to jump into something compared to being with someone single—though sometimes they actually fall in love!
- There’s this thing about married women being "off-limits," which is a huge turn-on for some men, but once they get divorced, the interest level just drops.
- Being married makes women act more laid-back and open when they're hanging out in mixed groups, whereas single girls often carry this protective shield or guard up.
- Most guys in their 30s are already married, so they feel much more comfortable with a woman who is also married because she knows how to manage a household and they can trust her to keep things low-key without any drama.
I'm sure there were more points made, but I can't recall them all right now!

So, you went ahead and deleted everything, even though it was such a fantastic discussion with some really solid points on a pretty wild theory—that a married mom might actually have an easier time finding a new partner than a single girl would (not to mention there were great counterarguments too!).

The whole topic was about dating in your 30s, and the OP was asking for people's real-life experiences during that decade, covering everything from single versus taken women to the struggle of finding someone new while in your 30s. Any talk about cheating was just a side note to help illustrate the main point, so I honestly don't get why it was flagged as off-topic or excessive.
Oh well.

Dating in your thirties: the struggle is real!

The OP shared her own story and opened the floor to see what everyone else thought about their own experiences, right? One of the big debates that popped up was whether it’s actually easier for women who are already married with kids to find a serious partner compared to those who are flying solo—isn't that an interesting twist? There were some really compelling arguments on both sides of the fence, too! But it looks like the moderator took issue with one particular viewpoint and ended up wiping out all the posts that even touched upon that specific debate 🤷

So now, all that deep discussion is gone, leaving behind nothing but those unsolicited "tips" like: "You're 30, you're basically ancient for dating," or "All the good guys want someone younger," or even the classic, "Just stick to casual hookups while you still have a shot!"

(I don't mean those kinds of comments should be deleted, because hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm just pointing them out as examples!)

I honestly feel like everyone here realizes that Rachel Richardson isn't trying to be malicious at all!

The real issue is just that whenever she runs into a familiar face in a thread, she gets so excited to say hello that she ends up focusing entirely on that person instead of sticking to the actual topic at hand, don't you think?

I really don't believe it's fair to penalize someone just because of how their brain is wired, and shouldn't we be embracing these little personality quirks rather than judging them?
