Google is my friend, man! 😎

This dates back to when I used Mr. T as my avatar (specifically that exact image Adam Harris7 posted above). I intended to just share a few Mr. T links, started poking around on Google, and well... history was made.

quietdriver3 said:Weren't the plot and narrative pacing actually the worst parts of SHa?

That really makes you wonder just how bad the storytelling is in the works of the Grimm Bros, doesn't it?😬

As you pointed out, the film is bound to be a stylistic indulgence—plenty of flair, but remarkably little substance. At this point, whether I actually enjoy movies like this depends entirely on whether I find the specific aesthetic they're pushing appealing; if I'm looking for deep plots or complex characters, I might as well forget it. I enjoy Sky Captain and Sleepy Hollow not because the writing is anything special, but simply because they lean into visual styles that happen to resonate with me.

I suppose we'll see what the consensus is here once the reviews roll in. For now, my primary motivation for checking this out is basically just this:link na veliku sliku . 🙂

Just answer these two questions for me:
Do you personally consider admiring a physique like Schwarzenegger's to be gay—or if you want to be blunt, homosexual? Are you expressing disgust at that photo simply because you think being interested in it makes you one?
And second: in your own opinion, what was the biggest driver of his success: the muscles, his sense of humor, or something else entirely?

Personally, I find homosexuals repulsive 🙂 , which is why I use certain terms, and it bothers me when they are lumped in with bodybuilders.

I honestly don't even know how to respond since you've spent the entire day obsessing over the connection between gay people and bodybuilders. Honestly, it's pretty uncalled for because it has nothing to do with the actual topic of this thread.

It's honestly terrible that you hold these stereotypes about bodybuilders and men who post their photos online, acting like they're all immediately gay. Now I'm actually worried you'll start accusing everyone of being a bodybuilder next. At this rate, it'll be like the Red Scare in America, but targeting bodybuilders instead of communists.

SHAME ON YOU, EDE! BODYBUILDERS ARE PEOPLE TOO!!!! 🙂
Elizabeth Price2 said:What is there for me to even debate with someone who thinks bodybuilders are just a bunch of gays, or anyone else who follows or even just casually participates in the sport?

Yet, despite your defense of them, you don't hesitate to use the slur "gays" instead of "homosexuals." Tsk, tsk, tsk. Besides, what exactly did I say against homosexuals?
I suppose you've watched a certain type of movie. 🙄 Buddy, you are just full of prejudices and stereotypes. 👋
Stick to your Latin. 👍

What is wrong with my Latin?
Elizabeth Price2 said:Good grief, Conan is absolutely packed with his witty anecdotes, and Terminator is the same way.

Quos eros demostrandum! If you can clearly see the truth in my argument, why refuse to acknowledge it?
Sure, they deserve credit for his success too, but they only show up in the later films; by then, he had already achieved a certain level of fame.

And listen, he owes them just as much. As Schwarzenegger mentioned in an interview with Leslie Eldridge and his secretary Sumiko, his idea was that iconic scene where Conan shoots a camel. He also came up with the classic line "I'll be back!" in Terminator, without which the character simply wouldn't be what he is today.
I won't even comment on that first part.

I suspect the reason is quite simple: you don't actually read anyone else's posts; you just want to troll people.
I'll just note that there's a full Madison Square Garden behind him, presumably filled with guys admiring his oiled physique, bronze tan, and dark hair.

I wouldn't be surprised. I remember that movie "a song and play far away." It’s that mid-90s drama depicting the early AIDS epidemic in the USA during the 1980s; they showed how those bodybuilding conventions were regular meeting spots where gay men could meet with total anonymity and discretion.
And yeah, great comparison between Van Damme the ballet dancer and Schwarzenegger, the three-time Mr. Universe and seven-time Mr. Olympia.👍

Thanks, thanks. 👋

Error, "the news"? 😕
Elizabeth Price2 said:What an absolute jerk you are.🙄Having a physique like that is truly a work of art.

I’d bet money on it. Honestly, I've been considering buying one of those massive posters featuring a shredded Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’d probably pin it to the inside of my bedroom door just so my mother wouldn't catch a glimpse when she walks in and mistakenly assume her son has some homosexual inclinations. Then, I could just sit there and appreciate that oiled-up, bronze physique and that dark hair in peace.
And don't you dare start throwing around any comments about gay people or whatever else.

So, I suppose it’s perfectly acceptable to hold prejudices against certain so-called "idiots," yet calling other forum members names is where we draw the line? Interesting logic. How time flies.
Don't tell me you actually believe he made it big solely because of his sense of humor or those one-liners.

Of course he did. I was reading "Hollywood 1997," that interview series by Leslie Eldridge where he sits down with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He makes a point of claiming that he and Bruce Willis are the only action stars actually bothered to write their own lines. It seems if it were just about having the muscles, someone like Jean-Claude Van Damme would be a massive Hollywood icon instead of being relegated to B-movies.

😬

Now I’m stuck manually programming the VCR to start recording about thirty minutes before the show airs, all while praying I have enough tape left to capture an hour AFTER the broadcast ends. Apparently, PBS and timers just don't play nice together.

G.O.R.A.? Google, I saw the trailer for that movie on Spider-Man last year. It looked pretty mindless, but the special effects—as Beaver mentioned—were surprisingly decent considering the film came out of Turkey.

Chloe Morris12 said:Or there are quite a few that exist solely because of the screenwriter.
That's what you call a writer, right? 🙂

It's called the Tooth Fairy. Here's the concept: whenever you lose a baby tooth, you shove it under your pillow at night, and by morning, you find a finished screenplay waiting there. That's how Lars von Trier came up with the idea for "kingdom".
Chloe Morris12 said:Fine, thanks. But has a book ever been written based on a movie?

Oh, absolutely. For instance, there is a mountain of Star Wars and Star Trek book series out there that were adapted from the films. All top-tier quality, obviously. Then you have books based on movies that were themselves based on video games, like Tomb Raider. Truly peak intellect. And then we have the absolute champions of adaptation: books based on movies that came from comics that came from other books, such as "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". In that case, the movie is just... well, the comic is actually a great ride.
Ethan Perez97 said:If we were settling scores by seeing who wins a fistfight, whose mother is tougher, who delivers the sharper one-liners, or who’s more intimidating during an interrogation... basically, who reigns supreme

It seems to me that Schwarzenegger takes the lead quite convincingly. Who wouldn't be drawn to his sheer intensity and those iconic one-liners? Compared to him, Stallone is practically mute. And when you factor in Arnold's charming accent, you have the perfect formula for greatness.

In *Predator*, Arnold pins a guy with a knife and mutters, "Z - htick ahaund!"

Then in *Running Man*, he saws a guy in half. When the lady asks what happened to him later, he just goes, "He haed to zphlit!"

But *Commando* is the absolute gold standard: Arnold holds some sleazy little mobster by one leg, dangling him over a cliff. The guy begs him to tell everything if he just lets him go. Arnold listens to the whole thing and then simply lets him drop. When the girl asks what he did with the guy, Arnold replies, "I leth him goooo!"

Pure class. Absolute classics. I fail to see how Stallone could even attempt to compete with that.

crimsonmoose3 said:And then there's John Woo? Think about his track record: Hard Boiled, The Killer, Face/Off, Broken Arrow...
Now he’s hit a new low with "Payback" and that announcement about directing an X-Men movie. I was obsessed with those cartoons as a kid, but I suppose nobody cares about that sort of thing anymore. 😕 😲

It would be quite a surprise...

I am of the opinion that John Woo produced far superior work during his Hong Kong era, and frankly, even his peak Hollywood efforts pale in comparison. Though, one can never be entirely certain; despite having much of his catalog on DVD in my personal collection, those specific titles seem to be missing, leaving me unable to make a definitive judgment. 😢
