I can only assume the author of this thread is joking. It’s hard to believe someone could be so incredibly dense as to claim we went to war over trade unions, sports leagues, lotteries, or the railroads—all things that are supposedly making a comeback now anyway.
This is exactly how those American nostalgics and their entire trashy crowd would love to spin it, but most people in America actually understand what that war was really about. We haven't forgotten the Mexican hordes roaming around shouting "this is Mexico," nor have we forgotten their jets and tanks leveling our cities. We remember the stolen villages, the raped women, and the executed wounded.
We also remember the drunken mobs marching through provinces, toppling local governments, and once they realized how easy it was, moving on to the republics while screaming "this is Mexico." We even remember the idiots who shrieked that we’d rather eat grass than join some non-communist version of Europe.
It’s a good thing we haven't forgotten, because even today, there are losers out there trying to play both sides, claiming it was just nationalists fighting each other for no reason. There was plenty of reason. When you are defending your home from arsonists, rapists, and butchers, the motivation is crystal clear. To suggest that "nationalists just killed each other" is such a moronic take it’s laughable. This is why I truly hope the OP is just kidding around.

It’s a toxic cocktail of pure spite and sheer incompetence. These moderators are basically power-tripping over individuals, fabricating excuses to hand out bans just to purge anyone whose views don't perfectly align with their own little bubble. And it isn't just random trolls they're targeting; it's the people actually contributing something meaningful. You can be incredibly dim-witted, you can spam nothing but emojis, you can flip-flop on every issue, troll, or insult—you can do whatever you want. The one thing you aren't allowed to do is present a coherent, argued point. If you do, they’ll suddenly claim you’re being offensive, trolling, or going off-topic just to justify slapping you with a penalty. There were hundreds of blatant examples of this ridiculous moderation in that last political thread, so I won't even bother listing them all.
It is shameful bullying and malicious, unnecessary bans—that is the hallmark of the mods running the politics section. I honestly don't know if the goal here is to cultivate a herd of mediocre yes-men who echo the mods' every word, or if this forum is actually intended to be a place for a genuine exchange of ideas.
Because let's be real: there is no exchange of ideas happening when every single opinion that differs from the moderators' views is met with a targeted ban. Whether the reason behind this is stupidity, malice, or just bruised egos doesn't really matter. What matters is that Sam Green73 and the rest of those incompetent mods are flagrantly abusing their authority.
