This is an aging legacy platform, and honestly, it’s probably for the best that it stays exactly as it is; the search function shuts down during peak traffic specifically to prevent the entire server from flatlining. Try what we’ve been discussing lately—just subscribe to the threads you actually participate in. You’ll still have to scan through the new posts since your last visit, but clicking into a subscribed thread to see recent activity is a hell of a lot easier than digging through everything manually.

If you took a moment to browse through the other threads and actually wander through this massive, sprawling forum of ours, you’d probably realize by now why your search function isn't working—it's not a statistics issue, sweetie; statistics are a completely different beast altogether.
As for your signature? I never said I was the one who revoked it. I would never dream of doing that to you, and besides, I don't even have the administrative authority to pull that stunt. A signature is a right everyone enjoys, provided they don't lose it through certain 🙂 behaviors.

The search function was barely functional when I was replying to the OP, so I made a joke about how his frustration with waiting on slow results could be "solved" by just getting rid of the search bar entirely. The moderators have zero control over technical glitches; when the system breaks, it’s broken for us just as much as it is for you.
Look, there are two practical ways you can handle this issue: 1) Use a Google search query like "term site:reddit.com" 2) Just subscribe to the specific threads you care about or actually participate in.

You haven't been particularly active on the forum lately, and I suspect your current handle is actually your real name, which is likely why you're looking for a change. We can certainly opt for a complete overhaul of your username, but please, try to be a bit more creative. As for "m20," that won't fly with the admins because they've already made the call that all new handles must be strictly alphanumeric without numbers. To be blunt, V. g. is a pretty lackluster choice, and I honestly doubt it would even pass an appeal with higher management. Give it another shot. 😉
