Why aren't you banning severe insults? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
If everyone is ignoring you, it’s because they all think you're just being dramatic for no reason.
Reporting a post doesn't mean an automatic penalty for the person being reported.
Resolved 🙂
barbro, I hear you loud and clear—consider it handled.
A stranger in Germany, though I hope things have settled down by now.

cosmicbadger69, if you’re working on a PC, the easiest way is just to save the image to your hard drive and then upload it to https://postimages.org/
.

Just upload the file directly from your computer right here.

Once that's done, grab this specific link inside the circle

image

and paste it straight into the image field here.

I used this exact method to get those screenshots uploaded above.

Here’s the post above; I went straight to the page at https://www.latti.ru/img/teplox/tepl88.jpg and pasted the link into the window that pops up when you click the image.
The issue is that Chrome isn't showing https://www in your URL bar—it's just displaying what follows.

This is how the address appears in Chrome:

image

And this is what happens when I c/p that address into the image window. I'm not changing a single thing; I'm just pasting it as is.

I stripped everything down to just what follows the http and https, then slapped a little sticker on the img tag. Let's see if this actually works.

Trial failed.
I used to be able to upload images without any issues. I just paste the link into that little yellow mountain icon and hit confirm. I’m not sure if I’m missing a step somewhere, because it’s just not working. Could it be an issue with me trying this on my phone?

The weird part is that when I go into the editor to tweak the link, the image shows up perfectly fine. But once I actually submit the post, both the link and the image completely vanish from the thread. 🤷

There is clearly something wrong with how you're typing the URL. Look at this mess. You have "http" and "https" doubling up. I had to manually add spaces just to keep it from breaking, otherwise the system tries to auto-format it into a broken image.

I accidentally hit the "mark all as read" button on my quick links, and now I’m completely lost because everything is the same color and looks like I've already seen it all. Is there any way at all to undo this and get things back to how they were? 🤦

No, you can't.

steelwalker26 said:The thread I was posting in this morning just vanished into thin air, and frankly, I have no idea why—it was about those strange readings on the New York City seismograph. It wasn't some monumental discovery, but it did provide a logical explanation without needing to resort to paranormal nonsense or global conspiracies. Why the deletion, Casey Bennett?

Well, you got your answer (whether it was you or whoever started the thread in the first place). A title and an intro like that are nothing but pure bait for every conspiracy theorist out there; honestly, the topic shouldn't have even been brought up on the USGS Earthquake forum in the first place.

Is there a pilot in this cockpit?
It’s still glitching exactly like it was described in the previous posts.

And the tech support isn't getting back to me either. If they don't respond soon, I'm going to have to give them another nudge. 😢

We’ve actually implemented an anti-stalker script that kicks in the second it detects hand tremors or drool hitting the keyboard; it just blocks any search attempts from those unfortunate losers.
It's what you'd expect from a platform that actually maintains some level of self-respect 🥳
I completely forgot to mention that this has been sorted out. My apologies.

It seems fine to me now; I didn't have a chance to check in first thing this morning, so I can't say for sure if there were widespread outages earlier.

But why isn't it larger? I followed the recommended dimensions perfectly. It’s not bigger than 800p. Is this an issue with Imgur?

I’m assuming you selected Hotlinking instead of the Direct link (the second option), which means people actually have to click the image just to see its full size.

You need to copy the Direct link, select the image icon here, and then paste it. It looks like this:

The final result should look like this.

Your signature was taking up an entire line on its own, so I went ahead and shrunk the font down to size 1 and changed the color. Hopefully, you don't mind.
Both matters have been settled.
Missing posts in Forum Help! ·
A massive amount of older discussion threads from various US departments and agencies have been dumped straight into a recycle bin that we can't even access, and as soon as those posts get moved, the total post counts for everyone who participated in them start dropping.
That’s the information I’ve received, and frankly, I believe it's the truth because there's really no other logical explanation for what's happening here.
