feralbison4 said:Subcutaneous fat tends to cluster in specific spots based entirely on your genetics, but here’s the kicker: that fat isn't actually tied to any specific muscle group or body part.
So what does that actually mean?...
It means if we can just grind our overall body fat percentage down to the absolute minimum, we’re going to melt away those stubborn spots too.
Basically, whether you want to admit it or not, you still have more subcutaneous fat than you’d ideally like to have...

I actually kind of love that logic, in principle.
But why "in principle"? Because even though it sounds great, it gives me a glimmer of hope that I can eventually torch that extra baggage, yet I can't help but wonder about the fat that's actually necessary for the body to function properly—you need at least a little bit, obviously, right?! It's common knowledge that women who drop their body fat too low end up dealing with irregular or completely absent menstrual cycles, which is just one of many side effects.
The real issue for me is that my Pilates instructor told me I look a bit anorexic despite having "fat" legs, and she basically advised me to just put on a few pounds and learn to live with my build.

feralbison4, thanks for getting back to me.
I get the whole muscle definition thing, but how on earth am I supposed to burn off that stubborn, stubborn, grrrr:2up: layer of fat clinging to my muscles and ankles? It’s honestly unreal how much that junk just refuses to budge.
And that’s literally the only fat I’ve got on me, too. Even my "backside" is pretty much skinny.🙂

I already dropped this exact same question in the thread about calves, but since nobody bothered to reply—honestly, people probably just aren't reading, or maybe they're just being intentionally unhelpful😵—I'm going to go ahead and start a brand new topic for it. I’m really hoping to get some actual answers from the folks who actually know what they're doing and stay consistent with their training.
So, here’s the deal: my upper body is pretty lean, but from the hips down? It's a different story entirely. I eat healthy, I'm super active—I basically go on long treks almost every single day—but I've decided it's finally time to commit to some targeted workouts to actually get my lower half in shape.
Through diet and staying active, I managed to slim down my thighs and even cleared up most of the cellulite there. But my knees, my calves, and obviously my ankles... they're just skinny and dimpled. There is absolutely nothing I can do about them. Look, I get it, genetics are a total nightmare and it runs in my family, so I'm fully aware I'll never have those tiny, spindly little legs, but surely there's *something* I can do to improve things.
Just please, whatever you do, do not tell me to lose weight, because honestly, I'm already right on the edge of being underweight.
Thanks🙂

You absolutely can't.
You're being dense.
For crying out loud...
Kyle Nelson2 said:Black radishes are actually super healthy, but if you dig through some of the older threads on this sub, you'll see people warning about how you prep them—I think there's something about avoiding vinegar and salt, plus you shouldn't go overboard with the dosage.

Look, I absolutely love black radish, but I had to quit eating it because it would just wreck my stomach for a couple of days straight.

What exactly are we talking about when it comes to these specific combinations and dosages?

There’s one thing I just can't wrap my head around here.

I mean, obviously, if this guy isn't even remotely concerned about his own life or his health while he's out there slamming heroin, then why on earth is he losing his mind over some random lump that popped up on his hand?
It’s pretty hilarious to think his hands are actually looking great, considering how much he's shooting up. 😕
You can find everything you need online at www.mayoclinic.org, and they even have an on-call number where the doctor on duty is absolute top-tier—I actually called her once because my regular physician was MIA for a few days.

Anyway, back to the point: a good while back, I was put on a regimen of aspirin + ibuprofen, both orally and vaginally. Good grief, I felt absolutely miserable.
When is eye twitching normal? in Health ·
It dragged on for fifteen days🙂 which was incredibly irritating.

The whole banana thing is a total bust; I’ve been eating them daily and nothing. Maybe it really is magnesium—I mean, isn't a magnesium deficiency basically the textbook cause for muscle cramps?!
And honestly, doesn't the eyelid have its own little muscles too?!🙄
So, were you actually using this cream all through the winter, or did you just start slathering it on now that those spots have already started popping up?

so maybe try being a little decent for once and actually write back instead of just pointing out that she needs one, you know what I mean?

Not everyone on this board is some kind of walking encyclopedia or a high-priced expert.
Some of us actually come here to LEARN SOMETHING FROM OTHERS, rather than just sitting around acting like we're smarter than everyone else.
Chloe Morris12 said:You guys totally ruined my thread😢

well, that's exactly what I'm getting at here!

I honestly had this little hope—just a tiny glimmer, really—that I might actually stumble upon some intelligent discourse in this thread, but the second mistybear4 shows up (which is basically a guarantee whenever anyone mentions nutrition), the whole thing just devolves into this endless, circular shouting match between them and whoever hasn't yet realized that you can't prove anything to them, or more accurately, that you can't even have a coherent conversation with them.

Besides, Chloe Morris12 was the one who actually asked the question, so wouldn't it be just basic decency to actually answer her?
Honestly, folks, I don't get why MacProphet has to swoop in and muddy the waters of every single nutrition thread we start.

And frankly, I’m sitting here scratching my head wondering why you all even bother getting into these endless arguments with him in the first place.

Seriously, mistybear4, quit tormenting us with these posts of yours👎

If you actually care about having a conversation, just go start your own thread; maybe someone out there will actually want to argue with you.

Look, do us all a favor—just drop this topic and disappear.👋 👋 👋

heeeeeey there...

it looks like my thread about eating healthy has somehow morphed into this endless, circular debate about fucking Herbalife and GM soy, so if you guys seriously have nothing better to talk about, why don't you just go start your own separate thread for all that?👎

mistybear4, look, I’m sure you’re a killer trader or whatever, but man, you are absolutely suffocating everyone with that preacher vibe and those mile-long posts; honestly, have you ever even heard of the concept of freedom of choice or having an opinion that isn't yours?

So, let me make this loud and clear: I am not interested in Herbalife!
My plan is to stick to actual, fresh, real food supplemented by some vitamins and minerals, not some instant protein crap coming out of plastic pouches and various other shake products.

Thanks for all the advice, I guess👋

Alright, here’s the situation:

I managed to pack on about 22 pounds over the winter, and now it’s officially time to start shedding the weight.

And obviously, there’s no better way to drop pounds than through pure starvation—okay, maybe not literal starvation, but if I stick to just fruit, veggies, and lean protein, I’m basically going to be hungry twenty-four-seven.

I was planning on heading down to the local CVS, but honestly, those supplement aisles are so freaking overwhelming that you practically need a PhD in nutrition just to figure out what to grab, let alone how to actually mix vitamins and minerals without causing a disaster.

Send help.🙏

I mean, seriously, what’s the deal with milk? 😕

Actually, yeah!

Sometimes it’s dialed back a bit, sometimes it’s cranked up to eleven, but it’s always there, lurking in the background.

Every single day, apparently.😕
Waking up with swollen face/eyes? in Health ·
So, I’m staring at myself in the mirror this morning and honestly, I look like 😲 someone three sizes larger than my actual self, just completely swollen from head to toe.

I’m squinting through these puffy, swollen eyelids—my face looks like I went five rounds with a swarm of angry hornets, I can barely even make a fist, and I’m pretty sure I need to go out and buy shoes that are a size bigger just to function...

And the thing is, this isn't some one-time freak occurrence; it happens all the time, whether I’ve underslept or overslept, it’s just my standard morning routine at this point.
It takes me a good few hours just to feel somewhat human again.

My blood work came back fine, my kidneys are doing their job just fine too...

Is anyone else dealing with this kind of nonsense?👋
