Mind-body connection? in Health ·
restlessmarlin6 said:. Honestly, I just wonder what’s going to happen. Sometimes I hate myself for being such a sensitive weakling, a total pushover... 😢 It's hard to believe that every little bit of stress hits me this hard.

:

Don't be so hard on yourself... it has nothing to do with being weak...😢

I don't know exactly why you're feeling this way... but it definitely isn't just simple weakness or being overly sensitive, so please don't blame yourself...

Have you thought about trying therapy?
(Sorry, I haven't been reading since the beginning, so I'm just jumping in blindly)
You mentioned your friends suggested seeing someone at a clinic; I don't know how you feel about it, but there's really nothing wrong with talking things through regularly, especially with a professional...

For me, some meditation and relaxation techniques really helped...

And also living with my boyfriend—whenever I couldn't sleep or settle down, he would just hold me... physical touch really does help with stuff like this...

And what T-Mobile said is important too...

Maybe you're just afraid of the future, or stuck in a status quo where taking that next step feels impossible...
I get it, that feeling where you can't relax enough to focus on anything because you're just paralyzed by anxiety and fear of what's coming...

But the best thing you can do is stop blaming yourself and just be patient. These things take time... probably just as long as the stress that caused it all in the first place...

Again, sorry if you already covered all this and I'm just rambling... don't be mad...

I have a really hard time with Starbucks because it sends my blood pressure through the roof...

Even when it's decaf...

But I still love that La Festa stuff...
Since it clearly isn't actual coffee, I can handle it just fine...😁

Could you walk me through how that chili recipe diet actually works?

Do you eat those specific foods during the same meal as the chili, or separately?
or is there no set rule...
The pros and cons of milk in Health ·
shadowgardener12 said:You’re posting here but you didn't even read the first post. What can I say...
😉

I read that first post claiming we don't even need milk every single day... honestly... I'm with you on that one.😁

I read the other one too... the one that mentioned half a liter... I definitely consume that much through yogurt alone... and I eat cheese almost every day... especially the fresh kind...

Don't even get me started on milk... I still remember the exact moment I realized I couldn't stand the stuff. It was such a visceral, gross feeling. My grandma was there too; she thought it smelled off, but she figured if the grocery store sold it, it had to be fine... maybe... I just remember Mom coming home and them all standing there talking about it. I can still see the clock... I was only four years old...😁

shadowgardener12 said:Sure, but that’s not nearly enough. Most other dairy products only provide a fraction of the calcium a person actually needs. And let's be honest, nobody is chugging a whole gallon of milk every single day.
The key is staying consistent with milk consumption from a young age, since bone density issues like osteoporosis are built up over an entire lifetime...

shadowgardener12, I highly doubt anyone is drinking a gallon of milk daily...

That would mean a family of four would need to buy about 7 gallons a week😁

or roughly 30 gallons a month...🙄

Look, it's fine if people here want to look out for one another's health, but let's not get carried away with these exaggerations...😉

I can't stand milk. Haven't touched it since I was four years old, after they made me drink some cow's milk from a mother that had just had a calf...

It grossed me out back then, and honestly, I still haven't been able to stomach it...

I don't like cocoa, and while I enjoy a white coffee, I don't really drink regular coffee either. Basically, zero milk consumption for me...

I love all kinds of yogurt—acidophilus, specifically. Cheeses of all varieties, sour cream... I'm all about those...

There are theories out there suggesting that no other mammal besides humans continues to drink milk after weaning... that what we do with cow's milk is completely unnecessary...

I suppose that’s why she’s so proud of her...

It's fine... but I can't bring myself to feel pride in something where no effort was actually put in...😁

Sometimes it feels like my gut is just getting bigger from all the water I drink. 🙄

Staying hydrated is good, sure, but if you overdo it, you're just stretching out your stomach... and nobody wants that...

The best way is to just have one glass every hour...

And maybe a couple of green teas throughout the day...

don't blame me😛

if you didn't know about the chicken noodle soup recipe😁
you could have stayed clueless forever...

it doesn't just help with weight loss, it boosts men's stamina, saves you money on groceries, sharpens your brain, helps the ozone layer, protects against shingles...
🙂 😁

So why do people claim showering isn't actually good for you then?
Chicken noodle soup recipe in Health ·
Good grief, there are people out there who regularly fast for certain periods every year on nothing but juice, rice water, or whatever else...

And they’re perfectly healthy...

An occasional detox can actually be beneficial...

I didn't just make this up; there are real living, breathing examples of humans who prove it works...😁

Besides, when someone is down with the flu, they barely eat anything more than some chicken noodle soup... and even then, it's never much... you can at least eat as much of this soup as you want...😉

Of course, I wouldn't recommend this soup all year round, nor would anyone ever suggest that...

But I don't see the issue if someone eats plenty of this soup for a week, paired with small, high-quality snacks...
😕

I mean, seriously...🙄

And if you're drinking plenty of fluids, there's no risk of dehydration, so that danger is gone too...

From what I remember from school, a person can go quite a while without food, but not without water...🙂

As for consulting experts, that's worth discussing too... some even suggest the Atkins diet...🙄

My only thought is that it isn't wise to do heavy physical activity if you're on this soup or any other diet... light activity is fine, sure, and sitting in front of the TV isn't good either, but nothing like the gym or similar things... and it's important to ensure you get regular, sufficient sleep...

A diet meal would just be something low-calorie... veggies, fruit, dairy, whole grains, chicken...

There’s really no reason to overthink it...😛

It probably isn't a formal technical term, but everyone knows what it means... we aren't at some medical symposium, after all...🙂

As for that chicken noodle soup recipe, I'll start making it tomorrow... my throat is killing me today, so I don't have the energy to go out and grab the ingredients I'm missing...

I just made some instant stuff from a packet instead... it's fine, honestly, as long as it's mostly water... and this isn't much more than water and some seasoning anyway...😁

I just don't get how big of a pot you're using to make enough to last an entire week...😕

Whenever I make soup, even in my biggest pot, I end up finishing it within a day or two..😁

And I don't mean this specific soup, just soups in general...

Maybe I should try that diet too... I absolutely love soup, but I can't stand onions.

Healthcare corruption: What's your take? in Health ·
Betty Bennett10 said:Honestly, I’m pretty skeptical when it comes to these stories about doctors I hear second or third-hand. It feels like people just love to gossip about bribing physicians. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but the idea that doctors are out there demanding cash and refusing care if they don't get it... I think that's way more exaggerated than it actually is.

Yeah, I agree. It usually plays out more like what you described... just haggling over things... and too often, medical procedures that are vital for a child's health end up getting pushed back because of it...

I don't buy into the rumors either, but all it takes is one bad experience with my own family for me to stay wary...

And from what I've heard, those "gifts" and "tokens of appreciation"—you know, things other than straight cash—can be even worse than just bribery. It's honestly disgusting...👎

Yeah, they’re even trying to charge extra for C-sections, even when it's a medical necessity rather than a choice... honestly, it's just gross👎
Corruption in Medicare in Health ·
I haven't had any bad experiences personally, but I’ve heard that at certain hospitals, they practically demand extra fees just to handle a delivery... I can't say for sure about all of them...

but I suspect that bribing for surgeries is actually pretty common...

especially when I see how some doctors in my area live and what kind of neighbors they turn out to be... honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if someone ended up losing their head just so it could be sold for a good profit🙄

lust4lif3 said:Kyle White2, it’s honestly embarrassing that you’re out here rambling about thick legs (everyone scratches where it itches).
What can I even say? I wish you weren't such an idiot and actually had thin legs—maybe then you wouldn't be so obsessed with it—but you don't, sorry.

I’m clearly not that stupid if someone as "brilliant" as you is giving me this much attention.😉

Just so you know, this will all pass soon enough...

and you just proved you aren't exactly stable... so you picked the right forum, health... go find some help and try to channel that rage into something constructive... I see you mentioning "idiot Jack" who isn't even participating in this thread...

you're trying to insult me in every way possible... hopefully you can come up with a better comeback next time, because the last time I dealt with this kind of thing, I was in preschool...

basically, your style and the way you argue is childish, even for a place like this...

Yeah, people who just got back from Japan say the exact same thing...

It’s clearly not authentic Japanese culture—it's just imported American influence... I hope everyone realizes that...
