Printer issues / Having trouble printing in IT Support ·
Hello everyone.
As my title suggests, I am dealing with a printing issue. For the past week, nothing I download or type will print. It doesn't matter if I'm using Word or Adobe Reader.
When I click print, the printer dialog box appears and looks like the job is starting, but the printer remains silent. The printer status notification simply shows 0 documents pending.
Interestingly, when I try to print an older document in Word or a PDF that has been sitting on my computer for a while, it works perfectly fine.
This entire mess started right after I installed Adobe Acrobat.
I have already tried uninstalling it, reinstalling the printer driver, and reinstalling the reader, but nothing has worked.
Is there anything else I can attempt before I resort to the nuclear option of reinstalling Windows?
My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, and the printer is an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545 all-in-on.

Thank you in advance.

Don't waste your breath; you can't change your nickname.

As for anything else, just check the older posts.

I honestly think our police departments are far too soft!
That’s exactly why things are falling apart in this country. They really ought to be granted much broader authority.
And criminals shouldn't be allowed to hide behind their rights. If you aren't fulfilling your obligations, you don't get to claim any privileges!
By that, I mean the fundamental obligation to act as an honest, law-abiding citizen.

It doesn't get any better than that.

Good grief, is it really that difficult for people to type eight letters correctly? 🙄

It's Irvin, not ifran.🙄

Scott Allen10 said:OK, let's be real... this guy should have gone straight to the Emergency Room first. But honestly, unless there's a rare exception, our ERs are mostly a joke when it comes to actual expertise. Most of the doctors working there are basically fresh out of med school, just making noise until they actually encounter something serious. It’s a massive paradox because, logically, an ER should be staffed by people with the experience and knowledge necessary to perform proper triage and execute the right procedures at the right time.
Maybe some kind of specialization within the Emergency Room will help, but that's a distant future dream.
As it stands, we face morbid situations where medically incompetent doctors are operating in extremely sensitive environments. It’s actually better for the patient if they just transfer them to a hospital immediately, regardless of whether the cause is something banal that could be fixed on the spot. That might not be the healthiest approach for the healthcare system, but here we are....
The situation turns even more tragic when dealing with genuine emergencies. Since I work in an institution that receives patients from five or six different Emergency Rooms, I can say with total confidence that both doctors and medical technicians could easily find themselves facing long-term prison sentences. We all get a little nervous when we get a call that a specific ER is bringing in an emergency, because you never know what kind of mess you're going to deal with.
The way some ERs operate, you might as well hire thugs to work with Smith—just grab the patient, throw them inside, and dump them at the hospital. Will anyone bother to check if they need to breathe? Will anyone try to administer aspiration? God forbid they even attempt to establish an IV. Forget it; they'll just shove them through a window, put on some dark sunglasses, and call it a day.
My apologies in advance to the Emergency Room staff who actually do their jobs professionally, but I believe that, to paraphrase a saying, there is very little wheat among all the chaff.

I have to agree with this 100%!
Though, I should mention that, at least here in Indianapolis, they have started working intensively on education and various training courses.

But yes, there are definitely hacks out there—doctors who can't tell pulmonary edema apart from ICV and who actually ask if a TIA shows up on an EKG. There certainly are.😬

Same here. It’s not an issue with the forum itself; it’s clearly on their end. 😁

If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be so quick to generalize.
It's understandable that you're feeling frustrated and bitter 😁 if you're constantly being harassed and mistreated in your workplace.

My experience has been entirely different.
I also work within a healthcare facility, though my role isn't clinical.
I am part of a medical team, but I don't have a medical degree.😁

The doctors I work with are complete opposites.
We are on equal footing; they'll make me lunch, fix me a sandwich, or brew a coffee, and just the other day, one of them even made me a hot bowl of soup. 😬They'll wash the dishes or a coffee mug just as readily as anyone else, regardless of the fact that they have six more years of school and ten more years of seniority than I do. 😁

While I agree there are certainly some high-and-mighty types out there, there are plenty who are perfectly decent. I happen to be lucky enough to work in an environment filled with the normal ones. 🙂
