mistyotter35 said:I don't really see this as sci-fi, it feels more like a disaster flick, kind of like "gravity", or maybe "Apollo 13"...

I mean, I wouldn't put Apollo 13 in that same bucket since that was actually based on real life, whereas everything else here is definitely just straight-up sci-fi

It’s an okay movie, I guess
but honestly, they completely missed the mark on the technical side of things. The whole concept of artificial gravity is pretty cool, but that’s just not how physics works in space

I mean, seriously, how do you even forget to include a technician in the rocket crew?
Fun movie😁
Fire extinguisher🙏
Old folks at the nursing home🙏:
Seriously, if I see one more guy walk by with a 7/2 "Thank you for your service" tattoo on his arm, I’m just gonna go ahead and lock myself in a fallout shelter😂
Chaos Walking (2021) in Movies ·
Honestly, it’s a pretty decent flick
The plot kind of leaves you to figure out who’s doing what and why on your own, which is fine I guess, but man, was it worth killing a few hours of my life just to piece it all together?
The CGI is actually top-tier though

Very Bad Things (1998)

Such a great movie
The Little Things (2021) in Movies ·
Finally got around to watching this flick after dodging it for way too long
I honestly don't get why everyone thinks setting a movie in the early 90s is such a "vibe" lately, like we can't just set a story in the present day because apparently serial killers don't exist anymore?
There’s like a 50/50 chance he actually caught the right guy since there isn't any solid evidence, but man, the dude really lost it when he saw those photos of the victims—especially since the one girl who escaped supposedly recognized nothing but his car? Was that even the same car he used during those kidnappings? He was basically hanging out at the crime scene like he was just there to fix a broken fridge
And that’s the whole point of this movie, isn't it? We weren't even supposed to find out if he was the real deal, but instead, we just end up with two cops pulling all sorts of shady moves, where one kills a survivor and the other beats the hell out of some guy who might not even be guilty
I've definitely seen much better movies starring Denzel, let, and Rami
Idiocracy (2006) in Movies ·
The movie might have looked a little naive at first glance, but honestly, we’re heading straight there, so I’d probably just call it a documentary at this point
Back in 2006, it’s like they already knew that by 2020, the USA would be halfway through the exact plot of that film.
The characters in the movie were pretty mild, so they basically just delayed the total insanity by a few years, but if you ask me, we're going to hit that breaking point way sooner.

Boring movie
What kind of apocalypse was that supposed to be on Earth?
Some planet or moon orbiting Jupiter that looks like actual paradise 🤣
Then there’s that part where they break protocol by calling up China, India, and Russia just to ask why nobody's answering them??? Is Trumpism still going strong in 2049??? And apparently everyone is an enemy to the USA, even though the whole world is going to hell, yet we all just keep hating each other anyway😁

Someone please give me one good reason why Interstellar isn't actually good

Lawrence Reed3 said:It’s not really like everything is on fire right now—unless, I guess, you choose to believe all those scary lies. If you go down that road, then sure, maybe the apocalypse is right around the corner.

The local Elementary School in Oakland is basically a disaster zone compared to this.😁

It’s not the end of the world, but honestly, a total global massacre might actually be nice, kind of like that movie PURGE.😉

Lawrence Reed3 said:It’s not like this really affects me that much... I mean, I’ve got some way bigger things on my plate right now, so I don't exactly feel like stepping up as some big-hearted altruist or taking on everyone else's burdens. I wasn't exactly living for others before either—but honestly, lately? Even less so.

some people just want to watch the world burn

Has anyone else caught this? She's basically lost without her Alien😁

It's honestly such a fun movie if you're into Eurovision, and personally, I'd say it's easily one of the best things Ferrell has ever done😂

They seriously need to export some of that nonsense beyond their own borders because they've been nicknamed "dumbfuckinstan" for way too long now, so let's just go ahead and push it out there a bit.
The European Union 😁 It’s honestly pretty pathetic when your entire national history is younger than most of the buildings you see across the European Union.

Grace Edwards said:If they have Hemsworth in it, I'm definitely watching.

I mean, how did he even end up taking a bullet to the neck? Surely he didn't get patched up by the healthcare system in India or something?😂
Extraction (2020) in Movies ·
So I just finished watching this, and honestly, it was a pretty decent action flick. I’ve always been a huge fan of Call of Duty, and the way the gunplay went down in this one really gave me those intense multiplayer vibes.😁

I feel like she was playing the tortoise role while everyone else was being the "rabbit," so they basically didn't give her any chance to pull off an ending like the one in her story
Underwater (2020) in Movies ·
It was a pretty solid movie honestly, though I guess since you listed all those other films in your previous post, I was kind of expecting a bit more of that specific vibe from them.
I have to say, Kirsten looks really good with short hair, it totally works for her.😁
And those suits they're wearing remind me so much of Starcraft.👍

goldenhound32 said:A few thoughts on the movie itself.

It’s entertaining enough, I suppose. It’s just a shame it's so incredibly dim-witted.

Let's go through this systematically, as my grievances come to mind:

1. What exactly is the objective of this commando blonde? I was under the impression her goal was simply to stay alive. But apparently not. She decides instead to hunt down the scum trying to kill her. And she does this entirely alone, deciding to storm the "nest" where an unknown number of armed individuals are hiding. It is profoundly stupid, even though up until that point, she displayed a level of competence you might expect from a character in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

2. Why did the individual part of that wealthy group board the train? He was supposed to be infiltrating the immigrants, right? I can't quite wrap my head around the logic there; perhaps someone can enlighten me.

3. Following the final confrontation, the wealthy woman dies almost instantly, yet our commando heroine just cauterizes her wound like Rambo in Rambo III and carries on as if nothing happened. As if those three puncture wounds—shoulder and twice in the torso—don't exist. A total failure in realism.

Of course, it isn't entirely bleak. There is some decent humor present.
The sequence involving the turtle and the rabbit is excellent; perhaps the best part of the entire film.
That elderly couple is actually quite charming.

And yeah, just like the "diplomat" or that heavy-set Don playing roles to make things interesting... who knows how those rich people actually think???

Honestly, this is an even bigger fail than those translation issues we saw earlier. They keep calling it a house or a villa, but our heroine ends up at this massive estate totally isolated in the middle of nowhere. Can anyone actually point me to a place like that in America? To me, it looks exactly like some high-end mansion out in the States.

And maybe regarding the license plates, they probably did that on purpose just to dodge any legal drama or complaints???
I mean, using a state's actual markings for a movie that might portray that same state in a bad light—and then if we try to file a formal protest, people just shrug and say "whatever, it's not even your plate, it's just similar except for the seal."
Even the military has different insignia, even though you can buy our army's patches pretty much anywhere.
But I honestly don't think they were even thinking about those kinds of details.
Same goes for the house; for your average viewer, it doesn't really matter, and since this shootout is happening somewhere in the deep, rural backcountry, it makes sense that you wouldn't find villas like that there.
Sure, they exist, but they're usually closer to urban areas, and no matter how much of a wilderness America has, it would be hard to hide a massive shootout and explosions like that, especially when you see the military hunting immigrants nearby. How do you cover that up unless you bribe the entire Senate to ignore the fact that a literal hunt for humans is going down?
Maybe somewhere in Africa, I guess.
But all in all, it's a decent enough film; I'm just curious who that woman actually is, because when they say they caught the wrong person and she tells that guy she was in Afghanistan, given how she handled herself, she'd have to be some kind of CIA operative or Delta Force type. You just don't teach skills like that to regular soldiers.
