Laura Hernandez8 said:And that bit about D.C. is a total lie. Angelenos have the best curves in the whole region, at least this younger crowd. I see these girls in their late teens and early twenties, and damn, they are built. There's no way they have tiny waists, because what would even be the point? The biggest asses in the USA are cruising down Fifth Avenue!
🤣 🤣 🤣 You zeroed in on the exact same thing I did.😂
Fine, maybe just the younger generation. High schoolers. They're skinny.
Look, man. Just grab a high-res photo of George Patton (if you can't find one online, just scan a poster or something 😬). Hit up a craft store for some heat transfer paper so you can actually print the thing and iron it onto a shirt. An A4 sheet should do the trick.
* - You can find those sheets at a shop near Times Square if you don't want to deal with the big office supply stores that force you to buy a whole pack of ten.

The disputed part is underlined and bolded. 🥳

Watched the movie last night and honestly, loved it. Probably won't stick with me after a month, but it really hit right. Maybe it’s just about the mood you’re in when you watch it? I went in with zero expectations—I barely even knew what the plot was about.
The vibe was a solid five out of ten. That sleepy, slow-motion boredom vs. the absolute madness of the city. And the dialogue? Spot on. People actually spitting words at each other. All that small talk, mindless chatter, laughing at things that aren't even funny... how is that not realistic? We all act like that subconsciously when we're trying to impress someone we're into. The soundtrack, though... wow. And that tagline "everyone wants to be found"—that killed me.
I see people calling this a romance. I wouldn't go that far. It's more like mutual attraction playing a game, especially since they only escaped their own messy lives once they got the perspective that Japan provides.
Also, the ending bugged me. Sure, it’s Hollywood sweet—them meeting in a crowd, him whispering in her ear, the kiss before parting ways—but I would’ve preferred if it just ended at that goodbye at the hotel.

And what if I told you I'm just here for the pictures? 😬 Nah... I’m not really feeling like reading stuff like that either, but hey, maybe the magazine itself isn't a bad source for info. As for the style... well, we don't always have to swing from one extreme to the other. It's just as much of a pretentious, arrogant mess as Oris's takes or some high schooler's edgy notebook. 😛

👍
boldscout72, it’s not the "political pamphlet" part that’s the issue, it's the calling it "cheap." 😛
It sucks, it sucks, it sucks, it sucks... I actually agreed with some of his points at first, but you can't write something where you just bash everything you dislike and force the reader to hunt for the actual meaning between the lines. It doesn't matter if it's criticism, commentary, reporting, a column, or an essay—it has to be well written.
You feeling any better? Honestly, those shaky hands are probably just an adrenaline crash from being freaked out, not the fall itself. Same thing happened to me when I wiped out a couple weeks ago—I was trembling for hours after.
As for the fall, just head to the ER. People go in for way less than that.
boldscout72 said:Nah, I'm not. I meant exactly what I said. If we actually had more pieces like this signed by Jurekovic or xy, nobody would be dragging me through this debate. My point is that people are just totally numb to style and any critique that isn't the usual Dragašev stuff you find in Bestseler.
Easy to talk about "different" criticism when his writing style is absolute garbage. He sounds like some kid who just graduated high school, signed up for a weekend journalism course, and now thinks he can drop coherent reviews. Please. We wouldn't even be having this argument if the thing was written properly instead of looking like a damn diary entry. If anyone here is being dense, it's Jurekovic. 😛
I’ve got some serious childhood trauma involving 😍 The Phantom of the Opera. I was obsessed with the comic book Phantom back in the day, and somehow my brain convinced me this old guy from the opera was actually that superhero with the coolest mask and gear—you know, living in that awesome cave behind the waterfall 🙄. So, naturally, I sat through two hours of pure televised boredom and whining just because I was too stubborn to admit I was wrong. I kept insisting, "No, this is exactly what I wanted to see!" and "I'm actually loving this!"
Just a total 🙄 Dummy being stubborn
Anyway, definitely not looking to make that mistake again 😁
Mocvara used to actually have a decent lineup. Now? It’s been two years since I even bothered to step foot in there. Maybe if they had something happening at KUM 😬
Basically, it’s just the same old listening rooms over and over, plus the occasional concert where the band has already played the same set twenty times. I'm just not feeling it. I could go on about it, but honestly, why bother? Since I feel the need to vent my disappointment though, tomorrow I'll 😁
I don't get it either, but honestly, it's still an upgrade from five or ten years ago. I'd much rather see Elemental and Ramirez pull off a joint show for a crowd than have Time being pushed on every street corner as this top-tier, high-quality band.
Interesting point, and you're spot on. That goes for both the audience and Mocvara. As for the crowds, I think they'll always be like that—just easily swayed by whatever the media pushes—and I guess that's just how it is. Regarding the other part, I've been thinking the same thing for a while now, but every time I bring it up, people try to tell me I'm wrong. Turns out, I was right all along. 😢
