Stupid dreams in Miscellaneous ·
Lost count of how many there were...

Like that time I was cruising from NYC to Philly using a Persian rug as a skateboard through the woods;
Or when I dreamed about gummy bears with a French manicure;
Or those creepy eye stickers you find at a local church bazaar...
Or playing Russian roulette, blowing my brains out, and then sticking two fingers in the hole in my temple just to feel my brain...

There’s plenty. ☕

Speaking of cats, a friend and I once got so high we just sat there in the middle of downtown, right by some planters with kittens, screaming our heads off in pure terror.
Is this what we've all been looking for? in Psychology ·
Man, Walter Myers4, tell me about it. There are times when everything around you just goes to hell, and no amount of "self-belief" or "confidence" is going to save you. When the world is spiraling into mass violence, fear, or pure hatred, staying sane feels impossible. I honestly wonder how much "self-confidence" helps tsunami victims in the middle of all that chaos—when they don't even know if their families are alive or dead, or when they're forced to ditch every principle they ever held just to grab a sip of water or a scrap of bread.

Confidence isn't where security comes from. It’s the other way around—you can only build actual confidence once you're actually safe.

My sister just had surgery and she’s still drinking like there's no tomorrow, especially when she catches a cold. Honestly, looks like the best cure is just a pillow to the face and an elbow to the ribs.

You sure about that? How do you square that with this: 😁
such incredibly bad overacting...

Look, I get what you're getting at, but you could take it another way too. 🙂
Nicholas Perez33 said:That's literally what I said.

Just admit you're a total trash tier fan already. 🙂
Nicholas Perez33 said:That’s why I always hunt for albums with a Pitchfork score under 3, unless it’s some certified garbage like Andrew WK or Audioslave 🙂

Total Audioslave art geek snob... 😁

Anyway, just to brag (since I'm always a few years behind), I finally listened to Audioslave the other day. Honestly? Wish I hadn't. I'd rather listen to jasekonjaboj... seriously. At least that actually makes me laugh.
Watched it last night and honestly, some stuff just isn't my vibe...

SPOILER:
Did Marc seriously screw over his student? Was it because of his daughter? 😕

Laura Long5 said:because they pick the most radio-friendly tracks for singles. I think someone should listen to at least one full album from their early era and one from later on to see the big picture. I didn't hold Radiohead in high regard either until I heard OK Computer and Kid A in their entirety...

Obviously... they drop some easy listening stuff that hits people on the first listen to reel them in. It's not like they're gonna release Myxomatosis as a single. But you still get some kind of insight, and it's good enough to figure out if you like them enough to dig deeper or if you'd rather just steer clear.

It really bugs me when people start lecturing anyone who says they don't like Radiohead, acting like they just haven't listened closely enough. Why should I force myself to listen intently to something that repels me from the very first note? How many Manic Street Preachers albums would I need to sit through to decide they aren't my vibe? I don't care if some fanatic thinks I "don't get it"... I just don't, end of story. And how many Britney Spears albums did you guys have to slog through before deciding she was trash? 😬

When I'm feeling up, I don't need some whining to kill my mood because it feels totally lame, and when I'm down, I'll do my own crying—I don't need some idiot reacting to everything with a whiny, overly sensitive voice.

Well, for me, they actually amplify whatever mood I'm in... when I'm happy, they make me even happier, and when I'm down, they lean into it in a way that actually works for me. That’s basically how it is with all the bands I love. 🙂

  • Anyone who likes Radiohead just for the depression is a loser.
  • You have to look beyond the depression to actually love Radiohead.
  • That moment where listening to Radiohead starts making me feel anxious, I just skip it at the speed of an anxiety attack.
  • That's why I get the people who skip them immediately; they feel the gloom instead of the music on the first listen. Tough!

William Castillo19 said:That’s my point. You can't get a real sense of their sound just from ten tracks on MTV, any more than I could understand Picasso's style by looking at only ten out of a million paintings.

Why? Honestly, those ten tracks give you plenty of insight... if you hate all ten, there's no point in grinding through their entire discography anyway.

So how exactly are you supposed to "get" someone's music?

Music isn't judged by how the people making it look. And that "wailing" usually makes sense.

You're getting old. Looks just underlined the fact that she doesn't like the vocals, plain and simple. I bet she wouldn't dig it even if he looked like Brad Pitt. What's the point of trying to convince someone that this "wailing" actually means something? To some it does, to others it doesn't. Personally, Mogwai gives me instant diarrhea, and there's no force on earth that can use some arbitrary "quality" criteria to make me like them. On the flip side, I'm obsessed with Thom Yorke's voice. I don't see why everyone has to be on the same page.

Basically, get lost. 😉

Walmart? 🤔 No clue... you're in vrbik, you should know that better than me. 🙂

Store-bought gnocchi, please... 🙂 just in case the stew turns out to be a disaster. 😁 😁 😁

Pretty sure I saw you there too. 🤔

He's that cute little blue thing... 🙂
Valabi (Is that even an animal?) Sure, whatever. I’m heading out to grab groceries... though you look like you're struggling carrying all those bags from Walmart back home 🙂

And obviously, you can't say that about Yes-pes, who trigger this sense of "terror" in certain parts of the crowd. But hey, better than being boring. 😁
By the way, it would be nice if you actually backed up your opinions with some real arguments, right?

And honestly... you have your good moments, but the whole thing just feels like a... messy salad with ingredients that don't belong together 😬 (Sorry for the food metaphors, but people were already talking about steak above and I'm starving)
red wave said:anyway, they cleaned out the club after 😁

That absolutely floored me. They basically walked away with an extra 10 points right then and there. 🙂 🙂 🙂

supposedly better than the first time, though I wasn't there. Honestly, they totally made my day. I didn't listen to them before, but they were exactly what I was looking for—loud, intense, nothing too smart, just good. I'm finishing up my thesis and my brain is fried from all the sketching, so they were a total vibe.

Colleague? 🤔 We can always hit up Reddit to grab some pasta later. 😬

Man, I'm dead... at least I get a laugh every time I see those jokes from n/a. 😵

Eh... doesn't really bother me since I’m usually running late anyway, even for movie nights 😬

Given where we live and how insane the ad bombardment is getting (anyone remember Paris?), and knowing it's only going to get worse, I honestly think we should just be glad the commercials are limited to right before the film starts...
