Height/Weight ratio in Health ·
160/63 😢 😢
It’s a hormonal mess. I know, sounds like a lot, but it’s impossible to shake right now. 😢
Honestly? I’m just exhausted and completely over it.
Struggling to sleep? Any tips? in Health ·
I’m struggling too. I’ve dealt with my fair share of intense psychological stress and bouts of depression lately. I'm finally starting to claw my way out of it, but things are still shaky. For the last month—maybe a little less—falling asleep has been a nightmare. I hit the sack at midnight, but I don't actually drift off until around 3:00 AM. Then, once I am under, I’m waking up constantly. My head is just buzzing with noise; I can't stay asleep. It's especially brutal when I'm at home in my own bed. Strangely enough, when I stay over at my boyfriend's place, the problem vanishes. I sleep like a log there, even if we turn in just as late.
What should I do? Honestly, I have no clue. I feel like I'm losing my mind when these pointless, racing thoughts start spinning in my head.
Don't tell me to stop?! 😲 Look, I deal with poor circulation too, and ever since I picked up smoking again, my vision’s been acting up and the headaches won't quit...
Damn, now I finally see where it's coming from... 😲
Help! Do I have mono? in Health ·
Dammit, why didn't you just go see a doctor and get some bloodwork done? 🙂 If you actually had mono and some overeager doctor slapped antibiotics on you, things could have gone south fast.
Seriously, what are you thinking, trying to hunt down a physical diagnosis on an internet forum? 🙄
Need some help dealing with depression in Psychology ·
Barack Obama, thanks for the deep dive 🙂 Thanks 🙂 Do you have any advice on how to pull yourself out of this hole alone, without needing a therapist if there's any way to avoid it? Especially if you've been stuck in this rut for two months now?
Need some help dealing with depression in Psychology ·
Can depression trigger these dark, heavy thoughts that press down on you so hard you feel like you’re actually losing your mind? And does it cause this heightened fear of getting sick—whether it's mental or physical—basically spiraling into hypochondria? Also, are people dealing with depression necessarily going to be high-strung, irritable, or prone to those massive mood swings?
Stomach issues / Digestive problems in Health ·
I’m leaning towards hemorrhoids. I deal with this myself, mostly because my lifestyle involves way too much sitting at a desk. Plus, I’ve noticed blood after wiping. 😁 It really started spiking once I became more sedentary.
Back when I was strictly vegetarian, I never had any issues. Once I started eating meat again, things got harder, and the discomfort returned. 😢

Don't panic, but this is a major Fact pointing in that direction. Just a heads-up: if you see blood actually inside the stool, get to a doctor immediately!
Has anyone else dealt with this? in Health ·
Low blood pressure... It messes with your sleep. People with low BP just can't get a decent night's rest.
Get your life together. Eat complex carbs. And let’s be clear: that greasy fast food crap isn't a complex carb, it's just garbage. Load up on vegetables, fruit, fiber, meat, and plenty of salt—but seriously, go see a doctor first to check your levels; too much sodium is its own kind of disaster. Also, get out of the house. Go for a walk in the fresh air during the day.

I deal with this too, though not nearly as bad.

And go get some blood work done. You might be running low on iron. But for real, if this keeps happening, don't hesitate to go see a doctor.
Over at the Pyramid building—it’s right near the Continental hotel downtown, though I can't recall the exact street address off the top of my head :glupa:—there's a clinic there. I go there myself. It's a community health center run by a doctor named Zatezalo.
Whatever you do, stay away from that Medical center over on the main pedestrian mall. Even though they’re private, they're sloppy. At least, that's what a friend told me after they botched her diagnosis 😲.
That’s about all I know. I don't bother with private practices, but honestly, Zatezalo is a solid gynecologist.
Can radiation patients return to work? in Health ·
I can, but it really depends on the patient profile and what they’re actually suffering from. 🙄
Could I be lactose intolerant? in Health ·
Edward Green said:Look, it’s hard to believe you just woke up one day with a sudden lactose intolerance...

You're still pretty young, right? It’s possible you've dealt with this your whole life, just in a milder form that didn't bother you much. Maybe things just flared up during puberty. Try testing it again—make sure it's actually the dairy causing the issue.

I agree, but I also remember reading 🙄 that these things can definitely kick in later in life; though I'm not entirely certain. 😕
Maybe you switched brands, even if they seem identical, or maybe the milk was spoiled. Or honestly, it could be something else entirely.
Eye issues in Health ·
Does nobody here have a clue? 😕
Probably just some computer glitch.
Eye issues in Health ·
It’s back. Again. I knew this would happen; even when I was just a kid, these things would flare up every now and then. But it’s been happening for three days straight now. It’s driving me crazy.
Basically, if I stare at anything without intense lighting, this spinning circle starts appearing—kind of like some geometric shape with yellow and olive tones. It spins, grows larger, and then just vanishes. Does anyone know what this is?
I also deal with those floaters. Plus, over the last few months, I’ve been getting these flashes in my eyes. Honestly, I think it’s just low iron and low blood pressure. Just little dots that pop in and out of view. My last eye exam was less than a year ago, and everything checked out fine back then...
I just want to know if anyone else deals with this kind of stuff. Obviously, I'll be heading back to the ophthalmologist.

I really need to drop some weight.
Spotting during ovulation: Is this normal? in Health ·
I dealt with the same thing—spotting during ovulation. I ended up seeing my OB-GYN thinking it was just stress, only to find out I have PCOS. 😢 If this happens again, go get checked out by a doctor. Look, if you’re under massive stress, it can happen. Some women even experience ovulation bleeding for no reason at all. 😲
Vegetarianism: Vitamins and Minerals in Health ·
What’s your take on this? Most of those vitamins and minerals you're talking about are just synthetic anyway. You get your nutrients from plants—so if a living organism is involved, we're talking plants.
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Steven Price10 said:Hey, I know this sounds stupid, but... how do you shave when you go to the gynecologist? Completely, or...

😁 😁 😁 Hehhehe 😁
I shave everything. I know some women don't bother at all. Honestly, it doesn't even matter to them if you are shaved or not. 😉
Soy and health: what are your thoughts? in Health ·
Ugh, looks like I just hit a wall with this... Honestly, I don't even know my current weight because I can't bring myself to step on the scale right now. Between vacation food and everything else, I definitely packed on some pounds. I used to be 121 lbs, but I’m probably sitting at 132 lbs now. I'm about 5'3".
Soy and health: what are your thoughts? in Health ·
granitegull3 said:The issue with vegetarians usually boils down to insufficient protein intake and a lack of Omega-3 fatty acids in their diet.

Since they aren't eating meat or eggs—the heavy hitters for protein—they really ought to be swapping that out for soy protein. But let's be honest: most people fall short. Without meat, you’d need to consume soy every single day, yet nobody actually pays attention to that. Most don't even have a clue how much protein they actually need daily. It's simple math based on your BMI.

Shouldn't the target be roughly 0.9 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight every day?
Soy and health: what are your thoughts? in Health ·
I’ve done my homework too, scouring all the forums, but I also came across info suggesting soy actually blocks nutrient absorption—specifically minerals and vitamins. My iron levels absolutely tanked when I was a vegetarian, even though I was being careful and eating a varied diet. From what I'm reading, that might be exactly why.
