Honestly, I feel like preseason is becoming a complete circus where the hype machine just runs wild for no reason. It's getting harder to tell what's a serious roster move and what's just marketing fluff to sell tickets. Does anyone else find the preseason hype more exhausting than the actual regular season?
Has suffering become a taboo? in Spirituality ·
masterblaster said:We’re all struggling—it's a given. But lately, it feels like there's this massive pressure to just *be* happy, or at least force it. What happens if we can't? Has suffering become something you have to be ashamed of?

There are some solid sci-fi novels out there where being sick was basically a death sentence. Maybe this hyper-hedonistic culture will come up with its own version: "if you aren't happy (or checked out), you're obsolete."???😕

Spider-Man usually keeps a pretty solid library anyway.

Nemruth Dag said:Here is what someone told me—they ended up crashing at a friend's place just because of the circumstances.

".....If I hadn't been getting home so late, M. wouldn't have suggested I stay over..but I turned it down at first, then finally agreed since I had to be in that part of town early anyway. I've known M. for over ten years; we're friends and she's a totally normal person.......I lay down, tossed around in bed for a bit...then fell asleep. And that's when it started.

A dream that was more than just a dream...this old man, looking absolutely repulsive, was attacking me and trying to rape me.....the worst part was that I was physically free—not tied down by anything—yet I felt completely paralyzed in this disgusting way.....just knowing I was in that position...it only made everything worse....the absolute worst part was the thought that he possessed me, not through the act itself, but that I was entirely under his influence. The old man just laughed without saying a word...he was enjoying all of it, while inside me, a feeling grew—not fear, but pure rage that I had allowed this to happen....but what horrified me most was that sense of helplessness, which was more than physical helplessness that stayed with me......I woke up suddenly, revolted by the dream. I spent the rest of the night drifting in and out of sleep.....barely making it to morning, terrified I'd have the same dream again....
The next morning, while having coffee with M., I told her about the dream while still shaken from the experience. M. then told me that she had been raped when she was little (I knew that, but it slipped my mind) and that there is nothing in the world she fears more than sexual assault. I had slept in the exact spot where M. usually sleeps."

So, what do you think? An astral attack.......or just fear that subconsciously concentrated in one specific space, which she picked up on and which manifested within her like that?????😉

That isn't just some random dream; it's an astral dimension thing. Energy. Things in our environment "remember" the energy of their owners. And fears are energy, just like love.

dustyscout53 said:Anyone catch that holiday flick? Billy Bob Thornton as Santa Claus, some chubby kid playing a chubby kid? Honestly, it was the first comedy that actually had me dying after Zoolander. I watched it last Sunday at like 1:30 AM when the theater was totally empty—felt kinda bad laughing my ass off by myself. There’s this one scene where they’re driving in a car and Bill tells him he must have taken too many hits to the head. The kid just goes, "Whose head?" and then they start bickering. I was literally on the floor. 😁 😁 😁

How can a movie be anything but a hit when you've got a gross Santa, a kid who's overweight and constantly sniffling, and a bunch of dwarves? My only gripe is that since it's a bit mainstream, they couldn't go even more radical with the jokes.

You talked me into it. I'll check it out!😁 👍

I actually lost it laughing when I heard that one.

This year had two pretty solid ones:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

That belongs on the cool list!😁
nimblemarlin17 said:I caught it last night—not a bad flick. Fun, though maybe a bit too confusing. Honestly, I’ll probably just rewatch it when the DVD drops, so I don't really care either way. 😁

Haven't seen it yet. But it's on my list.🙂
Chicago Blackhawks fans said:So, I finally hit up AMC Theatres today after a while, and I actually sat there counting:
The movie was scheduled for 21:10, but the actual trailers didn't even start until 21:12. By the time we hit 21:21, we’d sat through 14 commercials. That's, what, 9 minutes of my life gone?

P.S. I wasn't counting the trailers—I actually enjoy those, helps me see what else is coming out. This just refers to the endless ads for Coca-Cola and other random junk 🙄

I was at that same AMC recently too, and man, those ads are annoying. They really try to shove it down your throat!😠

Jango Fett said:Does anyone know if there’s actually any legal ground to file a complaint about AT&T and FOX ads running right before movies at AMC Theatres?

Honestly—it feels like we're just getting robbed blind at this point. $10 As for the ticket—honestly, sometimes you just pay up. $12So, I’m supposed to sit through fifteen minutes of commercials for AT&T or FOX right before the movie starts? Great. Look, I get the whole "if you don't pay, you get ads" logic—that's how FOX works—but when they start shoving ads for services I already pay a premium for onto my paid screen... that's a pretty bold way to treat customers.

I’d sue them—honestly, it’s just the height of audacity.

👍 👍 👍

I'm in! Count me in.

People claim they hate ads—yet somehow, we still let them beat us over the head with them every single day.😕 Why isn't there a law against this? I don't pay an AMC Theatres ticket just to sit through a mountain of garbage commercials.👎

The real thing is that Tinchi still needs to learn how to set boundaries with people.
Everyone. Even her own parents.

Of course, when I say she "needs" to, I’m being figurative. She doesn't *have* to—but it’d definitely be the smarter move. 🙂

Tinchi said:Why do they show up right when you finally feel powerful enough to take on the world—including yourself? Just as you actually start believing in what you can do?
Why do they pop up precisely when you're running on high octane?

What is it about people that makes them want to drain you—to basically tear you down, figuratively and literally?
Why do they try to feed off your strength just to bolster their own?

Is it really that hard to stay on an upward trajectory without a pack of hungry wolves jumping out at you?

Isn't life just one big cycle of good and bad energy? Isn't that the whole point of existing? Is there any way to empower yourself without having to suck away whatever little they managed to scrape together?

Sometimes we're all wolves... unfortunately.

And half the time, we don't even realize how hard we're hitting the person we're draining.

Are there any actual techniques to boost positive energy after being "leech-attacked" like I have been lately? Maybe meditation? I could seriously use some help because I feel myself slipping again. Thanks.

Solid question. I've been there too. Yeah—when you're on a roll, full of energy and ideas, the leeches appear. Just to throw you off course. To distract you, to mess with your head...😕

In my experience, the best move is to just retreat—find some peace and quiet. Rest, meditate, get your headspace back in order. If you can't do that, just shut down your aura and isolate.

Honestly, even though I saw the poster and *know* it's about monsters, the title sounds like some cheap adult film—"Deadly Boa vs. Golem Python: Who Will Prevail?".

The Americans will just wreck them with helicopters and tanks.😁 Standard script... he he he!👍 😁
