Cervical polyp or something else? in Women's Health ·
Karen Gonzalez69 said:It’s pretty obvious.
I never actually said I was in med school, you just assumed that, along with me being a gynecologist🙂
And as for the emojis... I enjoy using them. Didn't realize they could be bothersome. Sorry.

Sorry if I came off as aggressive. Wasn't my intention. I didn't assume you were a doctor, but I did guess the med school part... my mistake.

You aren't bothering me, just a little confusing. It's all good...🙂

I figured I was probably overthinking the polyp thing, but it never crossed my mind that it could be my hymen. It feels strange to even believe this, but if Alex White6 says so, I guess I'll trust her 😬 (better than believing anything else 😁 )...
It's just weird, because from what I've already written, I can bypass it from the back, but not from the front 😕

Anyway, I'll figure out this dilemma in the next few days 😬
If nothing else, I'll see a therapist

Look, honey, gynecologists aren't scary people. A good, caring doctor will explain everything clearly, whatever you need to ask.
My advice is to go see a gynecologist for a consultation and just tell them everything that's bothering you—from the hymen and cervical polyps to your first time.
It makes things so much easier. Once you build that kind of trust and rapport with your doctor, none of the exams will feel awkward, and you won't end up skipping regular Pap smears. That's how you stay on top of your health and prevent issues down the road.
If you don't know a good doctor, ask your mom, an older sister, or whoever... at least check out the Gynecologist Recommendations and Questions thread before picking someone.

Karen Gonzalez69 said:Why the attitude?😕 I wasn't saying you weren't right... I was just sharing the sources I found and leaving room for the possibility that I might be wrong.🙄

I'm just asking if this aligns with what you said.

Also, in that quote you shared, it says at the entrance of the vagina, not inside the vagina itself.

Maybe she just has a "gut feeling" from touching it that the "growth" is inside the vaginal canal. Looking back, I think I once had a feeling my hymen was deeper than it actually was (that was a long time ago 😁)...

So where was the aggression? I'm no doctor, so I'm just wondering how your opinion fits the medical definition of a hymen...

You say you weren't insisting I was wrong, even though you said it definitely wasn't the hymen (using those little emojis that were supposed to mean something, I guess).

The hymen is basically just a thin layer of mucosal tissue, about 1 to 3 mm thick, located right at the vaginal opening. It comes in all sorts of shapes... usually ring-shaped, but it can look like a crescent, have jagged edges, or even look like small fringes. Sometimes there’s a septum dividing it into two openings, or it might have several tiny holes or consist of a few larger folds.

and Karen Gonzalez69 how does that align with what you mentioned earlier...

Karen Gonzalez69 said:Well, maybe it turns out to be a cervical polyp in the end😬, but it definitely isn't an issue with the hymen😛 😁

That's why I mentioned that nobody can really say for sure...😉

I see. If that's what you think...☕

Karen Gonzalez69 said:If you aren't sure but you're joking about it, maybe look up what a hymen actually is first... 🙂

And honestly, that lump you felt that you think is a cervical polyp... 🤔 there really isn't anything else it could be. 🤔

Someone more professional please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is just what I remember from anatomy class... it was ages ago and I wasn't exactly an expert back then... 😁

I certainly hope you aren't a gynecologist... 🙂

A bump?! More like a mountain range... 🤣

But I still don't think that's it, since poking at it didn't really give me any satisfaction... honestly, I can barely even feel it when I touch
it, just a sensation on my finger...
Next topic, please! 😁

I really hope you're joking.🙄

Cervical Polyps
A cervical polyp typically develops from long-term inflammation. These can be endocervical (inside the cervix), ectocervical (on the outer opening), or decidual (occurring during pregnancy due to changes in the uterine lining).

It’s not a polyp, it’s just your hymen, which is an easy fix. Don't worry, once you have sex for the first time, it'll go away.
Daniel Robinson6 said:I heard Clearblue is the most reliable one out there... but honestly, if I don't see a positive on my current test soon, I'm just gonna go grab another one and try again...

Give more $30 and still doubt it?

Maybe see a doctor instead?

Generally speaking, all these tests react to pregnancy hormones, so you can't really say one is more reliable than the others...

Richard Perez3 said:First off, thanks Alex White6, that link is super helpful. 🙂

Regarding the quote... hmm, what does "it was painful" actually mean? In what sense? Like a sharp stabbing pain in the stomach—not that I know exactly what that feels like—or more like intense cramping from the volume... or what?

No problem at all.

I’ve had clear ones too, and just like Timothy Richardson10 and bluecrane16 said, they come and go without you even realizing it. For me, the rupture itself wasn't quite as painful—I could pretty much guess when it happened since I was going in for checkups a bit more often—but the twisting? That was absolute agony! I think there's something about that in the link I sent you.
It’s the kind of pain where even breathing hurts... I couldn't even get off the floor. At least for me, it didn't happen that frequently...

Peter Diaz22 said:I've been using the bathroom more often over the last 5 or 6 days, and there's this weird pressure in my lower abdomen. I think I'll wait another couple of days before taking a test. I'm praying to God it isn't Pregnancy... What do you all think the odds are?!

😕

I'm sorry, but those aren't really typical signs of Pregnancy... it sounds more like a UTI. If you were pregnant, you'd likely be at least a month along by now, so I'm wondering how something that small could already be putting enough pressure on your bladder to cause frequent trips? Pressure just doesn't seem right for this stage. Honestly, if it is Pregnancy, it's still way too early to feel anything at all... everything is just too tiny to notice...

ruggedsailor75 said:So the question is 😁

Where are you guys getting your wedding desserts, what's the damage, and what kind? 😬

Basically, we're doing dessert service at the tables at the venue, but we need separate ones for the favor boxes. Do you think the treats in the guest boxes should be the exact same ones served at the table, or can they be different?

I think his side of the family mentioned they’d bake them, but honestly, I really don't want to deal with all that hassle... they have better things to do...

Not sure. I guess they'd have to make enough for both the table displays and the boxes then.

Oh, ruggedsailor75, you're dealing with so much wedding stress already... I really don't think guests will care which sweets are in the boxes. You can just do the same ones...

Look, if his family offered to bake, let them bake if they actually have the time...

Harold Miller24, I'd personally go with pastries, since it's summer and you wouldn't want any mishaps with ice cream melting out there... 😉 pastries always hold up a bit better...

Anthony Miller13 said:I used to do the same thing, or just sit in a chair and pull my knees up to my chest... when the pain got really bad, I’d take some Advil or maybe even half a Motrin... since you don't take meds often, half a pill was usually enough... now I'm on birth control and the pain is either gone or barely there at all.

PS: Putting a cold hand on my stomach helped too, mostly cold rather than warm...

Hands around my stomach help me too, especially his. The pressure makes it easier... and honestly, sex helps relieve the pressure even more.😍

It goes smoothly at the ER; they give you an injection and an IV, and everything is fine😁

My sister has been dealing with this for almost a year now. She could tell down to the exact day when her period was coming... she wouldn't go anywhere that day. Mom would already let Dad know he’d have to leave work early to drive her to the emergency room, and that was that.

Probably just genetics. Maybe try switching up your diet to something less healthy😁 that might lead to weight gain.

I don't think their goal is actually to gain unhealthy weight or deal with extra body fat. If you have a super fast metabolism or feel too thin, maybe check in with a doctor... could be a thyroid issue...
