Symptoms of intestinal obstruction in Health ·
Thomas Mendoza5 said:What the hell even is HPV? 😕

It's Human Papillomavirus—spread through sex. It causes clusters of warts on the genitals and even anal issues. You could easily Google some photos, though honestly, you probably don't want to see that shit.🙂

Some strains are actually pretty dangerous since they can lead to cancer.

yeah—from top to bottom, basically 🤮

We can guess anything at this point—unless he actually wants to drop the Latin terms, if he isn't just messing with us.

But what if it wasn't even HPV? 🙂 🤮

Though I'm pretty sure he's just trolling. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:That’s a bit of a loose translation...

Maybe you should just write it in Latin? Unless your doctor is some local hack or a neighborhood shaman.

Unless you meant "fusion"—though if I recall correctly, that's an acute condition...

Come on, give us the Latin term...

The way you put it sounds like you've got polyps in your digestive tract—except it's probably not Crohn's, just some inflammation and scarring...
Sean Grant85 said:Okay, but are we actually sure you can just go all out every single day?

Based on my experience—look at that 1% response rate elsewhere.

Sean Grant85 said:And that’s even during the break after 21 days? You're saying it's safe to finish then too?

Yeah, they basically work full-time.

Sean Grant85 said:Then why do they talk about 99% effectiveness?
I heard that despite the high percentage, some women still end up pregnant—so what happens then?

Exactly. 100% effective contraception is abstinence. It's just that there are cases where people get pregnant while on the pill—again, in my opinion, that's usually down to missing doses or just being unlucky.

Sean Grant85 said:It’s well known doctors prescribe these to women with fertility issues, so once the pills stop working, fertility supposedly bounces back big time. So how do we interpret this 7-day break after 21 days of pills and starting a period as just a continuation of the next 21-day cycle?

Aren't you worried that your fertility might spike during that break?

No, look—there’s a chance that after you completely stop taking them (not during those 7 days, but after you're totally off), the first few cycles might be extra fertile. Apparently, there's even an increased chance of twins or triplets, but that's for when you quit entirely—the 7-day break doesn't really have anything to do with that.

Sean Grant85 said:PS. Have you thought about what you'd do if you actually got pregnant?
Also, are you 30?

Personally, I think even if ovulation and fertilization happened, the pregnancy wouldn't stick because of the pills. I'm 31. Hmmm, I’d definitely have a kid, but I'd be a bit stressed about whether the pills could affect the baby—would probably end up hovering over a doctor.😉.

P.S. I took Diane specifically for PCOS, using it as birth control on the side.

P.P.S. Go ahead and take Slavia to the doctor and double-check everything I said, even though I'm pretty sure I'm right.

I DISCLAIM ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OFFSPRING AND HEREBY CALL FOR AN AMENDMENT REGARDING THAT 1%. 😁 😉
Sean Grant85 said:If any girl actually agrees to all that, she’s gotta take the fall if we end up with a baby—just saying!

😁 😁 😁

Exactly what you said. You don't really need extra protection during those first two weeks. I was on them for like two years straight and didn't get pregnant once—didn't use anything else either. Birth control makes everything "perfect" (you can finish wherever), but hey, we both know the side effects can be a nightmare...

Not taking responsibility for any mini-mes you might drop. 😁 😁 😁

P.S. Expect things to get a little sweeter during the first month on them—migraines, morning sickness, the whole nine yards (basically feels like being pregnant)—but it passes. And yeah, maybe put on a few pounds...

Betty Hill82 said:The whole gum chewing thing is a solid tip—honestly, great advice! But it’s doing absolutely nothing for me this time, guys...😢 I've been chewing like a maniac, but the pressure in my ears is just getting worse. I'm about to lose my mind until this clears up... Tried sneezing with a stuffed nose—spoiler alert: nothing happened, except I spent fifteen minutes doubled over in pain and basically gave my boyfriend a heart attack from how much I was panicking.

Betty Hill82, if you're actually feeling PAIN in your ears—you seriously need to get a doctor to look at them. I know people who ended up with an abscess in their ear canal; it hurts like hell and usually requires some pretty heavy-duty antibiotics.

Btw, did you actually have a doctor CHECK your ears yet???

Being stuffed up is one thing when you have a cold, but if there's actual pain involved, go see a pro immediately. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious like an infection. 😉 👍

amberscout18 said:...this might sound totally weird or even a bit much, but...

just try blowing through your ears... I heard from some medical sources that it helps with congestion and that mild earache feeling. Tested it out myself and it actually works... just got over a nasty cold a couple days ago...😢 😢

🙂 yeah, this is totally fine—it’s what people do on planes, in cars, or whenever your ears pop from pressure changes and stuff... give it a shot. 👍

Betty Hill82 said:P.S.: NeilMed spray. Gotta remember that. 🙂 Just not sure if I can actually find it around here.

Yeah, you can grab it at any CVS. They’ve got different versions—some with copper, some with other stuff—the lady behind the counter will know what's up.

Betty Hill82 said:Facts—I've been dealing with sinus issues for years now. So, back to more sinus treatment... again.😢.

thanks, Andrew Anderson6!🙂

If you actually care about your hearing, you should probably get those sinuses sorted once and for all. Even without an actual ear infection, chronic sinus stuff can mess with your ears big time. I literally had my ear start bleeding out of nowhere—no infection or anything—only for doctors to find out my eardrum was under pressure because of my sinuses.

From what I know, doing sinus rinses at home plus seeing a specialist (they usually prescribe corticosteroids) helps a ton. People are split on sinus drainage procedures, but honestly, if you go down that road, you'll probably end up doing it constantly—better to stick with the inhalers/rinses if you can. Also, that NeilMed spray is a lifesaver.

Yeah, that inflammation probably messed with your middle ear pressure—and honestly, your eardrums might be feeling the tension too. Once the swelling dies down, you should be fine. Don't mess with your ears for now, but definitely focus on clearing out your nose and sinuses. If things don't start looking up soon, go see a doctor.

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:I was born backwards, so everything’s just flipped for me.😉 😁

Maybe you were too?

😁 Not backwards—just ten days late. My mom had a massive set of double doors fall right on her stomach during her seventh month. Pretty sure they would've cracked my skull open.😁 😁 😁

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:You can think what you want... honestly, my biggest issues with PCOS happened back when I was only about 100 pounds.🙄

Same here. A bit weird, though—usually people associate PCOS with being overweight.

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Unless you started them right on day one of your period—like, the actual first day.

Got it, Chloe Nguyen3: so if you didn't start them on day one of your cycle, you gotta use backup protection. Kenneth Hernandez67—are these the "take them every single day" kind or that whole "three weeks on, one week off" thing???
Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
I didn't check the specific brand, but pretty sure all birth control pills kick in from day one. Honestly, sounds like your friend might have given you some totally bogus advice—like she dropped a fly in your ear or something... If there isn't a warning label saying otherwise, they should 😉

Joshua Jones; one more thing—since you're heading to the doctor anyway, might as well get your blood sugar checked.
Night Owl in Health ·
Btw, one more thing—for anyone dealing with depression—you might actually find some relief by cutting back on sleep (basically just trimming down those REM cycles). It’s been backed up by plenty of studies 👍

So, if you're struggling with actual clinical depression—not just that monthly mood swing nonsense—try capping your sleep at maybe 5 or 6 hours over a long stretch. Honestly, it really helps...

Also—get some sunlight or hit the bright lights (swap out your bulbs for something stronger and stop sitting in a dark room all day)...

Obviously, this is just supplemental self-care stuff; for anything serious, go see a doctor.
Night Owl in Health ·
could be:

- honestly? you just don't feel like getting up to study—subconscious sleepiness is a real thing

- weather sensitivity—your body just reacts to the changing seasons

- total burnout—grab some vitamins and MINERALS (pro tip: look for Floradix syrup with Ca+ Mg+ Zn—you can find it in Austria or order it from high-end pharmacies here in the States, definitely worth it)

- low blood pressure—better go check it

- anemia—get a blood test done

- hormonal imbalance—check your levels

- last one, though not impossible—early signs of depression (how are you actually doing, anyway?)
Filtered water: Is it actually worth it? in Health ·
Anyone know what's actually inside those Britney Spears filters? I saw some report over in Germany recently saying they leach stuff into the water that shouldn't be there—not exactly great for your health. I can't seem to track down the article again; anyone got the scoop?
