Nicole Peterson5 said:the movie felt way too freaky for me... I much prefer stuff like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers, or even classics like Seven Samurai... there are plenty of better options out there, if you ask me.
Personally, I think The Promise holds its own quite well against those other films mentioned. I’ve always had a massive soft spot for the wuxia genre, so most movies in this style tend to land well with me. That first showdown between Kunlun and Snow Wolf was particularly incredible...
Also, Seven Swords is an excellent film—it's much more impressive than the brief synopsis would lead you to believe.
This term is so incredibly stupid it’s almost impressive; I’ve barely managed to sit through three episodes this season. I guess I’ll just have to wait for a rerun😢
I watched this movie quite a few times back when I was just a kid, and man, did I love it. To be honest, the last time I caught it on TV, I wasn't even paying attention to the plot—I was too busy drooling over that 1961 Chevrolet Corvette 😍 😍 😍

I’m still obsessed with that office in New York City from The Devil's Advocate—especially that shot where they step out and you see the water cascading right over the edge of the building. Even Trump couldn't pull off something that intense 😬
If you could pick any city, or even a fictional town from a movie or a TV show, to call home, where would you go? For me, I’ve always been drawn to places like Cicely from *life in the north and Punxsutawney* or Punxsutawney from the film *infinite day*.
If I had any foresight, I would’ve just watched the premiere and then headed out on the road... but instead, I stayed in town after the game to hang with the guys, and now I’m stuck wondering how I could possibly ditch the crew just to go home and watch TV. Maybe I'll try to download the episode while hanging out by the Mississippi, though I suppose NBC will probably just run reruns of the whole thing this summer anyway.😁 So, how was that Season 2 premiere? Who actually made it out alive, who's back from the dead, and who's gone for good?
It’s 11:3 PM, and honestly, we really ought to settle on this specific time slot... but then again, why does everything always have to happen on a Saturday night?😢
Season two of my absolute favorite show, Circus, kicks off this Saturday at 12:45 AM on PBS. I’m really hoping they run a rerun later in the day, because that time slot is honestly terrible...😢
To is a blockbuster in every sense of the word. It packs in everything you expect from those big productions, and honestly, it’s all woven together quite well—aside from that blatant American self-promotion we already discussed 🙂
I think this movie is fantastic. Even ten years later, those special effects still hold up surprisingly well, and the chemistry between Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum is just spot on. I’ve watched it a handful of times, but it only just clicked for me that Dr. Brackish Okun, played by Brent Spiner, is actually Data from Star Trek... The scenes featuring the arrival of the spacecraft are definitely the highlights for me. My only gripe is that typical American arrogance—the idea that they’re the only ones capable of saving the world. It’s a good thing America isn't the center of attention here; if we were facing an alien invasion, we'd probably just be left to fend for ourselves without any help...😬
I just finished watching Aeon Flux and Underworld 2. Honestly, Charlize Theron looks absolutely incredible in that movie; she’s always been a total knockout, but seeing her in those futuristic outfits... she is just stunning. The only actress I actually like who doesn't rely on a massive bust size 😬 is someone else entirely. As for the film itself, it was actually quite good—better than I anticipated. The architecture felt like something designed by Tadao Ando; the aesthetic is truly top-tier. On the other hand, Underworld was a letdown. It starts off strong, but by the end, they're just chasing each other through some backwoods forest wasteland. The best part about Kate is when she finally sheds that outfit and you get a glimpse of her cleavage 😬, because there are zero actual sexy scenes—it feels more like a glorified MTV music video 😢
