How to stay motivated to work out? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Ethan Garcia8 said:I can't stand it when people spread misinformation. You can be dim-witted, boring, or just plain unintelligent for all I care—I won't hold that against you—but don't you dare be wrong. 😕

If you're just going to troll, go ahead—but honestly, it’s just incredibly boring.

Honestly, you're absolutely right about that... alright, let's not get mixed up. 🙂 Listen, if you're looking for guidance, I’d say just take a moment to clear your head first. Sometimes the best advice is simply to step back and look at the bigger picture before making a move. 😉

Oh, I’m not trolling—honestly, I don't even know what that word means. I'm just genuinely trying to find some motivation to actually start working out. 😁
Besides, I still love messing with you; ever since you decided you hated me back when I was your dentist, it's been my favorite pastime... 😁

Oh, Ethan Garcia8 is just so brilliant; I find myself falling for guys with that kind of intellect immediately.😍

I really appreciate seeing people take such great care of their bodies. While looking good is definitely a solid motivator, my biggest driver is honestly just that incredible rush you get right after a killer workout.😁

That’s why you shouldn't force yourself through workouts that bore you; find something that actually keeps you engaged.
For me, playing badminton is a blast.
It’s not exactly my specialty, but it’s so fast-paced and unpredictable.👍

Honestly, I’m down for badminton too—I play in my backyard almost every weekend.😁
But going to a gym? That's just not my thing...
I grew up in a rural farming community, doing tons of heavy outdoor work when I was a kid, so I never really felt the need for "training." But ever since moving into an apartment in Chicago, I feel totally cooped up, God help me...
When I’m out at the coast, though, I spend all my time swimming. It feels so amazing that I could stay in the ocean all day long. Over the last few years, I’ve done three-week trips down to the beach, and I always come home feeling lean and toned, like I'm ready for a photoshoot...
Man, if only I could live by the coast permanently :sighs dreamily:

I’m honestly looking for a personal trainer who can actually keep me motivated. Is there anyone out there like that available for hire? 😁

I’ve mastered the art of stress management without any exercise or even having a dedicated outlet; honestly, I just flip a mental switch in my brain and call it a day.
The only thing actually starting to stress me out is the fact that I don't work out at all—I feel like I'm eventually going to get sick...

To be fair, I’ve never really been much of a gym person, even if I had tried.
I just can't wrap my head around the idea that people *have* to exercise. To me, the whole concept of running along a riverbank every single day just for the sake of burning calories or staying "fit" seems completely pointless. It feels like such a waste of energy when there isn't even a higher purpose behind it.
I truly don't understand the mindset of people living in big cities.
Someone please help meeeee!

Flu symptoms in Health ·
It’s the exact same story at my office; people show up working through a bad case of the flu like they're performing some grand act of corporate martyrdom. They refuse to just stay home and recover, and instead, they end up infecting the entire staff. Honestly, those types really get on my nerves.
Dealing with static electricity shocks? in Health ·
I’ve been feeling incredibly hyper and jittery lately myself; there's just a certain kind of static charge in the air these days. You might want to try touching a radiator or a metal pipe every now and then just to discharge that built-up energy
I've honestly never heard of anyone experiencing that before😁

It’s such a pain on my bike because I can't raise the handlebars, so I can't adjust the height to whatever feels right for me. 😢

Michael Moore3 said:I’ve got a question for anyone who’s been commuting by bike for a while now:
how do you freshen up or clean yourself once you actually get to the office?

There are some pretty weird people at my workplace (non-cyclists, obviously) who, for instance, use the restroom to wash their hair and stuff. They’re basically local legends at the company for all the wrong reasons, so I’m terrified that if I start showing up all sweaty from the ride, I’ll end up being known as "that guy who washes up in the stall."

Anyway, does anyone have any constructive advice?

I used to bike for a while until it finally hit me that riding through heavy traffic isn't exactly great for your lungs, so I stopped commuting that way.
(Since you're breathing harder, your lungs expand more and you take in way more air than usual, and since I have to ride right along the road without a sidewalk, I'm basically inhaling exhaust fumes directly into my throat—so I gave up.)
So... nothing for me.
But generally, when I was doing it, I’d carry an extra shirt because I can't exactly go slow, and since I have a 4.4 miles commute, I’d usually get a bit sweaty on my back. I’d just give myself a quick rinse in the restroom and change clothes.
One of my coworkers owns cycling jerseys and shorts made of special moisture-wicking material, so he sweats much less, though he still carries a change of clothes and underwear with him.
That's about it.

so, about two weeks ago, I developed this bump right on my mons pubis—specifically right where my bra strap sits—and it’s driving me crazy. I’ve been using a bandage because walking normally is basically impossible right now. Now, as it seems to be clearing up, it starts oozing stuff—probably pus, or maybe blood—then nothing happens, and then it just swells right back up again. It feels really hard and painful. What could this be? More importantly, how do I make it go away?! It’s seriously starting to ruin my life. My gynecologist can't even see me until April 25th. Could it just be an ingrown hair or something...? 🤷 oh man...

Hmm, when that happened to me—twice in my life—it didn't really ooze since it was probably too deep under the skin, and it just cleared up on its own within a month or two. In my opinion, the best thing is to leave it alone, especially don't try to squeeze it, otherwise it just swells up more, hurts worse, and you end up making a total mess.

Ovaries: Cysts and related issues [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
About two years ago, I started dealing with this persistent, stabbing pain in my left ovary. It would flare up for a week or two, settle down for a bit, and then come crawling back in cycles over several months. I went to see my OB-GYN, and she sent me for an ultrasound, but everything came back completely normal. Then they had me tested for chlamydia and mycoplasma because apparently, those can mess up your fallopian tubes or ovaries and cause all sorts of issues. But honestly, it didn't feel like any kind of infection; it was just that whenever the doctor tried to do a physical exam and poke around, the pain was absolutely excruciating, and she couldn't figure out what was actually wrong. To be blunt, I’ve lost quite a bit of faith in doctors lately.
Sometimes, I still feel a little twinge of that pain even today.
As for ovulation, that can get really sharp too—I can practically feel it happening every single time I'm in my fertile window.
X-rays and earrings: any risks? in Health ·
It really depends on how they performed your sinus scan.
If the radiation hit your temple area, then yeah, they were exposed. 😬
For instance, if you’re getting a full head or jaw scan, the exposure can reach your ears and neck; however, if they're just looking at a specific tooth, it's localized enough that you wouldn't even need to take off your jewelry.
I'd assume the technician would have told you to remove anything if there was actually a risk of exposure.

Has anyone ever experienced sharp pain in their lungs—specifically localized to just one side—where the sensation intensifies when breathing in and eases up during exhalation?
I honestly have no clue what might be causing it.
For me, it occasionally flares up and lasts for about a full day, but by the time I wake up the next morning, it’s completely gone.
My right wrist is killing me in Health ·
I was dealing with this pain for over six months straight—it got to the point where I couldn't do anything with my hand. Then, out of nowhere, the discomfort started fading, and now it's almost completely gone. Honestly, I’m not even sure what caused the turnaround. Maybe it’s because I switched to using my computer without a mouse, or perhaps it’s because I’ve been moving my arm in so many different directions lately, like when I'm gardening, pruning the backyard, hauling heavy hoses through the yard, or just going for long swims...
I spend at least eight hours a day on the computer, too.
