Amanda Robinson4 said:There aren’t 593 questions about Vitez's movies because he’s just throwing out random facts or plot twists to keep everyone talking. He builds in these layers and sudden shifts specifically so people will sit around and debate them afterward. 🙂 It’s like, one person notices a tiny detail, then someone else jumps in asking about something totally different, and suddenly you’re all caught in this endless loop of "wait, what just happened?"... (classic Lynch vibes there). Honestly, I don't think anyone besides the director himself actually understands every single reference tucked away in his films, so don't feel bad if you felt lost!
I really want to be helpful here, and I’d love to give you an answer, but it’s been way too long since I saw that movie and my memory is totally shot on 😬
I get it. I know. I just had to ask. Maybe I lost the thread. My phone addiction has gotten worse lately, so I was probably staring at a small screen when something important happened on screen.
I have a question for goldenhound32. In Matula's headquarters, toward the end of the movie, why does his assistant or whatever he is, lose his mind and charge at Matula?🤔
Absolute idiots with Skarsgård. You've got Bruno Ganz basically speaking English so the whole world can understand him, plus the Man from Mostar, Sergej Trifunović.
It looks like Moland decided to pull a Haneke and just imitate his own style, frame by frame.
This is easily the worst thing Steven Spielberg has touched since Gone with the Wind. The pacing is so broken that at one point, just to make it bearable, I started looking at the dynamic between Spider-Man and Harry Potter as if it were the relationship between Spielberg and Ritchie. 😁
Not bad. Not great either. It’s decent, but it isn’t GREAT. Putting Depp aside for a second—no, he isn't masterful here. He's fine, but just like the rest of the movie, it isn't truly GREAT. Just pure mannerism. If they were aiming for horror, they missed. On the flip side, the supporting cast is excellent. Take Rory Cochrane, for example. Good-god-damn. That’s how you do it. Saying everything without saying a word, just through his eyes. Generally speaking, why hasn't he had a bigger career? Like a few respected commenters on this thread pointed out, the issue is this: it feels derivative. And what we've already seen was much better.
