Drew Sanchez82 said:Give me a break. So you're claiming her first provocation didn't actually happen? Is that it?
God forbid she had a nervous breakdown or something while dealing with us...

She didn't provoke anyone. The fact that you're blaming her just shows how deep-seated your sexism goes. That's one thing. There's more to it. 😉
Stop bringing this up a thousand times. Just write. If you like a topic, engage; if you don't, ignore it. Period.
Olympus Has Fallen (2013) in Movies ·
Steven Seagal is such a proven legend that you actually had to establish him twice just to make it stick, right? 😁
Wild stories from the set in Movies ·
If my memory serves, Polanski disgraced that little girl about seven or eight years after his wife and a few guests were brutally slaughtered.

Trouble on set?

One of John Ford's favorite actresses, the stunning Maureen O'Hara, took a punch to the chin from the director himself—yeah, a punch to the face!—because, as O'Hara claims, she worked with a director Ford didn't respect, so he couldn't stand their collaboration.

Actually, I think O'Hara said it wasn't quite a punch, but I don't feel like checking right now; the hit definitely landed.
Is Michael Bay actually a bad director? in Movies ·
Yeah, they are.

Lisa Barnes said:This is actually a significant point. This particular user has the audacity to show up here and lecture Henry Campbell5, when in reality, this same individual used to mock other users relentlessly—not to mention his association with briskhound2. Just a bunch of trolls, edgy movies, and shady collaborations.

Honestly, give me a break.

Fine. Now that we've established why I'm defending briskhound2, Smoogj, and quietdriver3. What kind of crowd do you think I run with? 😢

Your little games and the way you handle discussions—specifically how you try to shut people out—are pathetic. 😁 No, you aren't whining; you're just cleaning up the trash on Reddit. Good luck with that, Bickle. 😉

Stop writing. This is a much more effective principle. Not this constant whining for two months straight—it ruins the experience for everyone else on the movie subreddits who isn't involved in your little crusade against windmills. Honestly, you're just killing the vibe for me. I can't speak for the rest of them. You said yourself that the PDF movie was one of the last bastions of quality on this Reddit. What changed?

Henry Campbell5 said:But this really is a private mess. 🤷 If it weren't, the partial restructuring would actually follow the rules. Of course, that would reveal there's no reason for a partial split, but plenty of reason to replace the current admin structure—since they acted entirely on their own whims, without transparency, without good intentions, and most importantly, while breaking their own rules.

I'm not changing my ways because I don't even know what behavior of mine is supposedly "problematic." Do you really want to be known as the guy constantly making excuses for the current administration?

Cute attempt at intimidation. Fine, whatever—I’ll happily take the reputation of being an apologist for the current position. Just like Mark Wood79, I actually enjoy your movie impressions, even when I disagree with them; even when it's obvious you're just trying to pressure someone with your takes, which is fine—that's how a debate evolves. Aside from briskhound2's occasional stiffness when enforcing moderator rules, you and Murmillo have been absolutely exhausting over the last month or so. If you're this annoying to me, a regular Reddit user, I can only imagine what it's like for the actual moderators. This is a damn forum. Moderators make mistakes in their interventions, they do! I've been warned and given cards too; my posts have been deleted, sometimes unfairly, but look... this is a damn forum. Take the penalty, man up, and get back to posting. Instead, you two whined the whole time, and if you did come back after being restricted, you'd only be worse. I don't agree with the partialities you faced, but you practically invited them with your posts. I'm speaking up because you specifically said that as a frequent guest on the PDF movie, I should.

Henry Campbell5 said:I take my deserved punishments without any trouble. I'll eat the crap I pooped out and ask for a redo. Besides, I've been banned before. So your little theories about me whining are completely misplaced. I don't know what you're trying to get out of this, but it feels like you're just posing... honestly, you're being boring even to yourself. 🙂

The number of open threads on Reddit proves you wrong.

Whatever. I'll stick to my "don't give a damn" attitude while you keep whining. 🤷

In other words, the mantra we are using to defend this administration is simple: be a man—be someone who doesn't care about being flawless... 😵 Good heavens, is this truly the best anyone can come up with... 🤦

You should have added a few more facepalms there. 🙂

It’s interesting how you people interpret things. I never told anyone to shut up, bow down to the moderators, or just take it. No. I said—and Henry Campbell5 should get that—that you eat the crap you pooped out, serve your DESERVED punishment, and then come back to post later. How he chooses to write after that is his business.

Since I hold a different view than Henry Campbell5—because I believe both him and Murmillo bear more responsibility for all the stupid situations currently happening on the Movie forum—I guess I'm the one bowing down, right? Just because I think differently than him. 🤷
John Ford in Movies ·
Mark Wood79 said:Tomorrow, a John Ford film marathon kicks off on PBS, starting with "Dr. Bull."

Great, thanks for the heads up. I've seen most of the works mentioned, and frankly, some aren't worth hunting down on torrent sites because the quality is garbage. Speaking of Ford, is that Peter Bogdanovich documentary, Directed by John Ford, actually worth watching? I caught A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies yesterday, where the narrator—none other than Scorsese himself—made a reference to it.
Giallo: Playing with Genres in Movies ·
It’s obvious how much Bavin influenced Argento. While his work shows the movement's early stages—introducing core ideas, pushing visual symbolism, and even fetishizing clothing—Argento used his craft to elevate all of those elements to a higher level.

Six Women for the Killer That was the worst giallo film I've ever seen. 🤷
Giallo: Playing with Genres in Movies ·
That’s the thing. Regardless of whether I figured out the killer too early, the direction is masterful, and there are moments that are genuinely, truly chilling.

But wait, you aren't familiar with Donna Gray4 and powerbeating? 😁 Man.

Mark Wood79 said:I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of Giallo, but ''Deep Red'' is an absolute masterpiece. Anyone who gets a kick out of Brian De Palma will probably get just as much out of this one.

Man, I really screwed up my experience watching that movie. All I can tell you is that I was hyper-focused and my vision was perfect. 😢 I've moved past the phase of binge-watching most of Argento's work, and out of all of them, Tenebre stands out. It hits all those essential giallo beats and uses all of Argento's signature tricks, but more importantly, it's his most successful attempt at playing with his own image.
How did you guys find this movie? in Movies ·
Movies have always been my thing. I grew up surrounded by the same stuff. Some people in my family lived for bad movies [propaganda pieces starring Chuck Norris], some were so bad they actually worked [Commando], and others preferred the classics. I watched my first real, heavy-hitting classic with my mom. It was Kurosawa, Seven Samurai. On PBS. The day I realized how much of an idiot I was about films was when I blew off a date with a girl just to watch Altman's Gosford Park. Also on PBS. No, it wasn't even a specific day, but I still regret blowing her off. 😁
Premium Rush (2012) in Movies ·
Watched it yesterday. Fun movie. It’s great right up until the halfway point, but once they start explaining why everyone is losing their minds over some paper with a smiley face on it, that frantic pace from the first 30 minutes just dies. And honestly (😁), it fails to hit those same heights by the end. Gordon-Levitt is decent, but Michael Shannon is incredible.
Parasite (1982) in Movies ·
I don't mind a little natural look, but man, this is excessive. Even by the standards of the eighties, this is way too much hair. 😲😁
