I wanted to see if anyone recognizes this movie title:
I watched it about ten years ago, but I can't recall the actual plot—just some specific imagery from the film.
Basically, it went something like this:

A house, where a skeleton is bound in chains, worms crawling out of a skull, one skull sitting in a glass jar or an aquarium, also swarming with worms. Lots of foliage everywhere. The bathroom is flooded with cockroaches and worms, emerging from shells, pipes, vents, you name it. Behind the house, which sits on a rock, there’s a creek or a river, and more corpses floating in it...

I know I haven't given much to go on, but if anyone happens to know the name of this movie, let me know.

Just finished watching The Hollow... a sequel to Sleepy Hollow.

I’d honestly rather be hunted by a killer... at least that would be more engaging than this movie.

I didn't get through the whole thread... but I noticed a couple of people claiming *Scream* is somehow the greatest horror movie ever made.

Scream really didn't need to happen. It's such a garbage movie that... honestly, there's no point even talking about it, let alone the acting.

Nobody’s claiming his bits aren't original or even too good. Freddy Krueger is easily one of my all-time favorite films. I love that movie. But honestly, compared to his "Last House on the Left," Freddy is practically a comedy. The first installment holds up well enough, but the sequels? They were completely unnecessary. Still, it beats a Scream any day.😁
Fine. You can't argue with taste.

It’s typical for Americans to ruin perfectly good movies just because they decided to churn out sequels.
Take The Omen, for example.
The original was solid... but the second and third installments were garbage and had nothing to do with the first one.
Jeepers Creepers... the first one worked... the second was just boring.
Blair Witch (okay, the movie is stupid) but the first one is decent—good concept—but the sequel is death by boredom.
Pet Sematary... the first one is great, the second isn't. Same goes for Texas Chainsaw, Freddy, and so on and so forth.
And don't even get me started on this modern trend of shoving crap like Freddy vs. Jason or Alien vs. Predator down our throats...
But whatever...

Oh, and The Grudge... compared to most American horror trash these days, this one actually holds up. It's watchable, even if that little girl crawling out of the TV is a bit ridiculous....

Japanese horror hits the mark, though there isn't much of it. Still, I'd take a little quality over the mountain of garbage Americans churn out now—not to mention those terrible remakes of classics like Dawn of the Dead.

Yeah... they wouldn't pass censorship. Besides, they aren't filled with mindless blondes running around screaming for 90 minutes straight just to make your brain leak out of your ears.

Japanese horror is solid. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Japanese cinema in general, I can say they're more original than American stuff. At least modern American films have some actual ideas. 😁 (think Audition, Guinea Pig: Devil's Experiment, etc.).

Anyone seen The Grudge? That Japanese-American one with Buffy. 😁
It doesn't feel like your typical American horror; it actually has a hook. Though, it reminds me of that wet, black-and-white ghost girl from The Ring....

The first one is way better. Total waste of time making a sequel.
The movie reminds me of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which honestly just makes me think of that zombie trash, House of 1000 Corpses.

Burnt Offerings (seen the story before, but the movie is worth a watch)

I'm not saying it's a bad movie. Personally, I love it. But if we're talking genre, it's not horror.
It’s nothing like Bad Taste or Braindead.
Those three are solid picks if you want a laugh or if you need to ease someone into the genre who's actually afraid of horror.😁

By the way, why is nobody bringing up Cannibal Holocaust or Cannibal Ferox?

Especially Evil Dead.

Caught a movie yesterday.
The plot felt recycled—just a slight twist on something I've already seen.
All things considered, it wasn't anything groundbreaking or special, but it's worth a watch if you have the time.

Out of those three, Freddy is my top pick.

As for Evil Dead... there isn't a better comedy out there. Personally, I wouldn't even classify the first or second films as horror.
And then you have Army of Darkness... which really should have just been some kind of third sequel to Evil Dead.

I’m heading to San Diego this year just to kill some time and get out of the city, even if none of these supposed bands actually show up.
I’m really hoping the organization improves this time. I don't want to be shoved back into that cramped little shed of a venue without any AC when it's 95 degrees outside.
Honestly, I have my doubts about this whole three-day metal thing. It sounds way too good to be true, especially for an American production.🙂
I might look into hitting up a festival in Vegas instead; at least they actually know how to run things over there.

I'm with you on this. South by Southwest is a complete joke. Last year’s event in San Diego was an absolute embarrassment from start to finish—the organization was a disaster. I seriously doubt they’ll even manage to pull off a three-day lineup like they’re claiming. Honestly, we’d be lucky if we even got one day of actual music.
