Movies about funerals and burials :amen: in Movies ·
In One Tree Hill, things got incredibly heavy during the final season when we had to deal with the murder of Uncle Keith. It was a brutal stretch of episodes; they actually featured two Three Mile Island type scenarios back-to-back—first with Keith, and then with that kid who took hostages at the school before taking his own life...

I would love nothing more than to see Martin Scorsese direct a top-tier thriller and reunite with Robert De Niro, especially if he rounded out the cast with Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer. Just leave Leonardo DiCaprio out of it, please! 😁

I checked this out a few months back. It’s a decent little flick if you just need something to kill an afternoon, but let’s not pretend it’s some cinematic masterpiece... 😁
Besides, that’s exactly what I was expecting when I grabbed it from the local Blockbuster rental.

Those were the days... 🙂 Maybe they’ll finally come to their senses this time, return to their roots, and actually start putting out some decent movies again.

De Niro... while he delivered powerhouse performances in classics like Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Casino, and Once Upon a Time in America, he really let me down with those subpar flicks like God Bless, Showtime, Meet the Parents, and Meet the Fockers.

Jean Reno... also a phenomenal actor, but only when he's working in French cinema. 🙂 I honestly don't see why he even bothered with Rollerball or Da Vinci's Code. 👎 Other than that, the man is a genius...

Al Pacino... he’s also lost his way a bit over the last few years, churning out a lot of mediocre stuff—S1m0ne, and that secret agent training movie with Colin Farrell... the only one worth mentioning is Insomnia. 👍

These three are actually my favorite actors, and look, every stellar career has its blemishes, but still...

On the flip side, if we're talking about people who never possessed actual talent, Keanu Reeves definitely stands out. He's a desperate case; it seems there's no saving him, no matter how great the director or the script might be... 😬

Good old Dustin Hoffman... 🙂 🙂 🙂

The film is nothing short of a masterpiece. Honestly, it’s probably the only one where I can actually stomach watching Tom Cruise...

It actually pulled some stellar reviews here: http://www.metacritic.com/film/title...ted?q=departed. This should be my third stroke of luck with DiCaprio; I’m looking forward to Thursday. If Scorsese—who has leaned on De Niro for years without ever missing the mark—sees something special in DiCaprio, then I believe him.

I've been aware of all that for quite some time now, but thanks anyway.😉

Relying on DiCaprio as the backbone of the plot is a mistake; I simply don't think it works. To me, his performance in "The Aviator" was nauseatingly overacted—I was still feeling the trauma ten days after leaving the theater.
As for "The Departed," I might give it a shot purely for the sake of good old Jack Nicholson; he’s a legend.🙂

I am officially calling for Scorsese to reunite with Pesci and De Niro!😁

In my estimation, "Lost in Translation" is a remarkably solid piece of cinema... 🙂

And for the record, it is Coppola, not Copoli...

Brian DePalma—after delivering absolute masterpieces like "Carrie," "Scarface," "Dressed to Kill," and "Carlito's Way"—has plummeted straight down to the mediocre level of "The Black Dahlia." 😬 And what on earth was he thinking with "Mission: Impossible"? 👎

Scorsese has also experienced a massive decline in quality! It is frankly unbelievable that the same man responsible for "Taxi Driver," "Mean Streets," "Raging Bull," "Goodfellas" (my absolute favorite 😍), "Casino," and "A Time to Kill"—all of which are stellar—could turn around and produce total disasters like "The Aviator" or "Gangster Squad." This is what happens when you tie a director's fate to DiCaprio; this is the trouble with 😬, and yet Scorsese continues to work with him. Now, the idiot is set to play Roosevelt in "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt"... 🤣

And don't even get me started on Michael Mann... 🙄

I watched it yesterday... honestly, I was pretty disappointed. It’s an okay movie, but there is absolutely nothing special or standout about it. I’m giving it a three out of ten.😁

He saw Brian De Palma and Goodfellas, which are definitely better.
Scarface 🙏
