Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
I found myself completely captivated by this approach to wedding cakes... honestly, I’m blown away. I think I might actually pull something similar off for my own big day next year—assuming, of course, that nobody decides to beat me to it and steal the idea before then. 😁

A colleague of mine actually popped into the local pharmacy and bought... she even managed to snag a bulk discount. 😉

Michelle Nelson4 said:Are you talking about that special promotional loan? I turned my papers in on a Tuesday, and by the following Wednesday, the funds were already in my account! They were incredibly fast, though I did make sure to emphasize how urgent it was to my representative and gave him a little "nudge" every single day to check on the status. So, looking at my experience, two weeks for approval does seem like quite a stretch—you should probably give your rep a call, just in case they went on vacation or if there was some glitch in the system during the processing phase...

mortgage loan 🙄

🤷 To be honest, I haven't run into any issues with them so far... they really do what they can (mind you, I'm in a smaller town), and I heard back from them yesterday after we spoke, so everything seems fine... I suppose I just need to wait a little longer...

Timothy Kim9 said:You’ve got to be a nuisance—call them every single day, maybe even multiple times if you have to.

Are you really sure about moving everything over to JPMorgan Chase? 🙂

We’ve been with them for years—both of us are on the loan—and honestly, we haven't run into a single issue until now. 🤷
Now, I'm starting to second-guess things, 🙄 mostly because of everything I've been reading lately. We had such long tenures with our employers that we didn't even have a moment to think about switching banks... 🤷

I’ve been catching up on everything being said here—I only just stumbled upon this thread today. 😱
My credit application was submitted for approval about two weeks ago... and so far, there hasn't been a single word from them. 🤷
There seems to be such a heavy volume of negative feedback in this forum, though, truth be told, I haven't actually had any issues with them personally until now. 🤷
🤔But I'm starting to wonder if this two-week stretch is becoming an actual issue—or is waiting this long for a loan approval just standard procedure?

Frank Castillo5 said:I'm trying to figure out what the legal requirements are for building a morgue.

Basically, they're planning to build one right across the street from my house. Even though everyone is complaining about it, the developers aren't budging. At this point, my only real move is to try and find some flaws in their plans and zoning applications to stall things.
I haven't been able to find anything useful online, so I’d be SUPER grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction. 🙂

😲😲😲😲
Wait, right in front of your house?! On your own property line?!
1. You need to check your city or county's zoning maps and land-use plans immediately.
2. As immediate neighbors to this proposed project, you should receive a formal notice from the county office responsible for issuing permits—make sure you show up and officially state your objection to having it built so close to your residence. If things get complicated, you might need to hire an attorney. 🤷
This all sounds highly questionable... where is this happening? Who is footing the bill for this construction? Who is the developer behind such a crazy plan?!

I know there's a guy in a small town in the Midwest... but I don't have his number handy. 🤷

Bradley Wright said:If I remember correctly, the room itself is basically empty, $6000 just a plain space with some chairs and nothing else.
But if you go with their catering and drinks, you're looking at $200-$83 per person.
A friend of mine actually booked a spot there, though I’m not 100% sure about their specific pricing.
Basically, she opted for the empty hall rental and then brought in everything herself—the food, the drinks, the desserts, all the decorations. She even had to hire
her own servers, cooks, and a whole crew to handle the details.

🤷 Honestly, though, it feels like a massive amount of money to me...

Olivia Gomez2 said:Of course there is! We actually put down a deposit for our band about a month ago for June 4th of next year.
Just sit down and think about what kind of vibe you want—once you have a list, start grabbing some phone numbers. Honestly, there are so many wedding expos and local shows happening lately where you can go hear bands live or just ask them for a demo recording... http://vjencanjeradost.blogspot.com/...a-svatove.html

Well, thanks for the advice... 😘
I’m going to try to handle this myself—it’ll be far too late if I end up waiting until October to get things moving.🙄

I have this vision of getting married exactly one year from now—on July 23rd.
But looking around, it seems like everyone else has already booked their bands and finalized their vendors, while I haven't even made a single move... 😢
Is there actually any hope for me at this point?! 😕 🤷

What I actually used—or rather, what I carried during the weddings—was just basic, let’s call it, adhesive paper, which they then used a glue gun on to attach the decorations.

In my case, this has been stuck to the board for about a year now, so the background looks a bit... well, weathered.

- does anyone know where I can get custom magnetic lapel pins made? ...I'm trying to avoid poking holes in people's clothes at the venue entrance. Thanks!

I'm not sure about the magnetic ones, but I have seen those adhesive backing options for pins. If you need a photo, I actually have one sitting around from a wedding...
I can tell you that it held up pretty well—in fact, it’s still stuck to my cutting board right now.😉

James Lopez8 said:I honestly think the best approach is to just agree on playing a little bit of everything—a diverse mix where there’s something for everyone, and then everybody stays happy. Personally, I’m all for those classic old-school folk songs, but maybe skip the newer stuff. You know, just keep things fun with some traditional acoustic sets, maybe some line dancing, the old classics, and even a little bit of rock... In my opinion, that's the sweet spot. It doesn't really work if it's strictly just acoustic instruments or nothing but folk music. A good mix is definitely the way to go.👍

I couldn't agree more...👍
thanks for the input...😉

James Lopez8 said:And where are you located? Personally, I think the Spice Girls are absolutely wonderful, though they don't really travel outside of the immediate metropolitan area. I actually sent them an email to see if they’d be willing to come down to New Orleans to play, but unfortunately, the answer was no. As for local talent here in New Orleans, I’ve always found The Beatles to be great—they create such a fantastic atmosphere (at least from my experience attending weddings). They’re actually playing a joint bachelor/bachelorette party for my boyfriend's brother this Tuesday, and then they have a wedding on Friday. The total cost is about $2,200; I imagine it might be around $650 for the Tuesday festivities and maybe $1,550 for the wedding on Friday.
I suppose you could look into Kurt Cobain, The Beach Boys (I think they might even have a female vocalist now), Pulse, The Blitz, Onyx, or Valentino... though it really depends on what kind of vibe you want for a wedding. To be honest, some of those aren't quite my style—like Onyx or Valentino. In my opinion, they play a bit too much country-pop, and it just doesn't sound right to me. Of course, that's just my take; others might love them! You might want to check out the Still band online; they're based out of Indianapolis and seem pretty solid. There is also Sax, The Four, and Vigus. I imagine they wouldn't mind traveling from somewhere like Indianapolis down to New Orleans. 😉

I'm from Des Moines, so thank you for providing such a massive amount of detail...
The real issue I'm facing is that my family and his are essentially two different worlds—mine loves the old-school classics, while his isn't really into that sort of thing. It's making it difficult to even envision a setlist that keeps both sides of the guest list happy...🤷

I’m planning on getting married about a year from now—and everyone keeps telling me I need to start hunting for bands immediately just to secure a decent date... 🙄
I was thinking of picking a date exactly one year from today to host the wedding reception. Could anyone point me toward some good live bands for a wedding? 😉
Thanks
