Samuel Smith5 said:Look, I was specifically tearing apart the movies being aired on CBS. I never claimed that EVERY German film is total garbage.

I actually have German RTL on my satellite dish too. Heaven help you, Anthony Kim18.

But not right now—I really need to get some sleep. I’m going to be running around downtown all day tomorrow, so I'll jump back in whenever I actually have a free moment. I won't forget. 😉

under unspecified in the poll...
I should also mention Czech cinema—specifically Sverakov's 😘Kolja😍
as well as the work of 🙂Menzel and Forman...

I have a much stronger preference for European filmmaking over
American🙂 stuff... As for Asian cinema, I'm still exploring it... though I must say, certain

Iranian
😉Well, obviously European cinema holds more weight than what we see in the US. When were Americans actually better? Aside from having massive budgets and dominating the box office, that's about it. Any recommendations for Asian films?

Samuel Smith5 said:It's quite simple: they're just bad. The subtitle thing is a non-issue because Americans are perfectly fine reading them; it doesn't stop anyone from watching. As for the German language, maybe some people just don't care for it. But if that were the real reason, why does everyone sit through those Italian and Spanish soap operas? That has nothing to do with knowing English either.

To me, those series and films are so poorly made they're practically unwatchable.

They have managed a few good films in recent years—Goodbye Lenin!, Against the Wall, The Fat Years are Over, Sophie Scholl, The Lives of Others... but when it comes to TV series, you're absolutely right; it's just pure misery.🤮

😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍

Seriously, what is going on here? Did Lionel Messi personally give us a green light to spam this place—or is management just going to shut this down even faster than usual? 😢

Good grief. I might actually die of pure joy.

But what exactly are we supposed to be doing in a room?🤔 😍

Jerry Martin19 said:— honestly, they don't even seem to understand how a question works 🙂

Could you please walk me through this? 😍
Four Rooms in Movies ·
Jerry Martin19 said:Isn't that supposed to be a question? It's just that someone who clearly skipped grammar class doesn't even know how to use a question mark. 🙄

🙂

Oh, so now you're going to lecture me on what constitutes a question? 😠

Jerry Martin19 said:then why did you bother quoting me in the first place? 😕

Did anyone even ask you? ☕

Honestly, I might just give it a shot myself. I certainly don't have anything more productive to do with my afternoon. ☕

I'll be sure to check back in once I've lost a finger. 🤣

Anonymous said:Honestly, I just tried that myself—it was a total disaster. I nearly lost a finger... 😁

So, how many times did you actually pull it off?

Jerry Martin19 said:Banderas is at his absolute peak when he just tosses his wife into his arms and hits the elevator button with his foot—honestly, that scene was pure perfection.

So, are you actually a fan of Banderas?😕
(meaning, in that homoerotic sort of way, if you catch my drift)

Has anyone here actually tried flicking a Zippo ten times in a row—you know, trying to recreate that cinematic moment from the movies?😁

cosmicraven2 As I was saying:
Ugh, just thinking back to when they first started talking about a remake for The Story of Two Sisters... honestly, what a mess. Let's move on from that one. At least the crew is making promises..
And what about the original?

Andrew Diaz7 said:Everyone is entitled to their own opinion—and certainly the right to share it—but refusing to watch the film seems like a massive missed opportunity to me...🙄 Especially since you claim to have played the game, yet you insist the stories are shallow? You played Max Payne??? In that case, please, do enlighten me again regarding that "shallow" narrative...😠

Look, I’ve played Max Payne, and cosmicraven2 already gave you an answer. My point was simply that when you're actually playing, the "shallowness" doesn't even matter—you're too busy immersed in the gameplay to notice. However—and this is the crucial distinction—the way those stories are structured just doesn't translate well into a traditional cinematic format.
