The dialogue is usually recorded on set. If the result isn't up to par, they re-sync it in a studio. Take one of the trailers for Clone Attack (the one where Obi-Wan says: "Stay away from the power couplings") and compare it to the actual scene in the movie. You'll see the second version is much better—it actually feels like Obi is there, reacting to the current.

Based on my experience in the adult industry, I can tell you that these films are shot completely out of sync. Once we wrap a scene, my partner and I (or whoever else is on set) head back to the studio to actually perform, making sure our breathing and reactions perfectly match the footage we just captured. It’s grueling work. Sometimes we have to run through the same scene five times just to get it right.
