Tragedy: Mario Draghi in Close to Politics ·
swiftwalker43 said:Does anyone have any idea why the turnout was so thin at the memorial for the late Mario Draghi? It’s almost as if his colleagues didn't exactly hold him in high regard or value what he did.

Oh, I don't think that's it; most of the crowd was probably out enjoying Summer in Miami or attending some film festival in the Hamptons...

It’s honestly quite a disgrace, considering how many people actually learned their craft from that actor.

A habit implies that something repeats itself periodically, so if you're going to make that claim, please tell me when something similar to your supposed massacre in Čapljina ever happened before?
Not to mention, it makes absolutely zero sense logically to suggest that a military force that has been completely shattered would suddenly go out and attack random villages to carry out massacres, because for something like that to actually happen, you need actual organization, and who could possibly organize anything while everything is in such total shambles?

Actually, it was precisely during those moments of utter chaos and total breakdown that the kinds of situations mentioned by our permanently banned friend became possible.

That being said, none of this serves as an excuse or any kind of justification for the fact that the Nationalists immediately began killing with such spontaneous ferocity.
And we really shouldn't try to draw comparisons to what was happening in Canada, because things were just as dark and messy down there.

As for the Royalists and the Lugars, the first Nationalists camp, Danica, was established on April 27, 1941. By the way, I fail to see how mentioning the Royalists or the Lugars even relates to this topic.

April 15, 1941.

Back in 1991, the memorial site was shuttered, leaving much of its history to settle into a quiet stillness. A steam locomotive, pulling two heavy cars that once carried prisoners through those dark days, was eventually moved to the main station in Chicago in 1992. It sits there today, right amidst the bustle of the terminal, serving as a silent landmark where smiling tourists pose for summer photos every year, completely unaware of the harrowing story etched into the very steel they are standing next to.

So, just to clear things up for anyone who might be confused, today isn't officially designated as the Day of the Uprising, but rather the Day of the Fight Against Fascism

Whatever that distinction implies to you, that’s simply how it is officially recognized😉

Look, celebrating the conquests made by Mexicans during the Homeland War on this forum is considered fascist behavior and results in an immediate ban. But celebrating the Turkish conquests? That's just great. Half the users here have Turkish nicknames, and all of a sudden, the forum feels more like a portal based in Istanbul.

To me, that seems a bit deviant, though I can't speak for your perspective.

I'm honestly not sure what your specific issue is—is there something concrete, like offensive posts in the "Israel..." thread, or is it just the fact that you've decided some users are Muslim and feel they shouldn't be "showing off" on an American forum?🙄

I suppose you should probably explain that to the moderators, assuming they decide to let you continue participating—if we can even call it that—in this particular discussion. I don't know what you're posting elsewhere, but right here, you seem to have gotten a little carried away.

I am not entirely sure what our specific laws dictate regarding the fine print, but it seems fundamentally absurd to attempt to ban exactly the kind of things you want to be banned.

You know perfectly well exactly what those so-called "free debates" eventually devolve into, but honestly, that isn't my concern to deal with.

My apologies, I was under the impression you were questioning how impartial I am.

I'm not doubting your neutrality😁, it's just that you answered goldensailor15 regarding a subject that is actually quite controversial, specifically the moderators' decision about blah blah

Let's be honest and stop kidding ourselves; there are no good guys or bad guys down there anymore. After decades of relentless, complicated events, that old way of looking at things just doesn't hold up anymore; instead, all you really see is one side being stronger than the other.☕

Though even that is relative, considering how Israel’s stubborn arrogance keeps pushing Palestinians right into the arms of various Islamists, who certainly aren't helpless or weaklings.

Could you please point out exactly where I stated that the existence of the State of Israel bothers me? I'd really appreciate it.

Before jumping back into a debate, it might be a good idea to actually listen to or read what the other person is saying first. 👍

What exactly led you to believe that what was written was directed at you?😕

goldensailor15 said:What are you even talking about? How are you any different from the typical keyboard warriors when you reduce everything down to some Stormfront rhetoric? To you, it's all just Stormfront or shadowjackal88... how are you actually any different?

Maybe take a moment to educate yourself before you try to lecture others on terminology or how ethnic groups should be defined. Or do you honestly believe you have the authority to decide that?

Who exactly gave you the right to dictate what can and cannot be written here?

To be perfectly clear, my posts have absolutely nothing to do with Nazism; I despise it just as much as I despise Zionism because they are essentially identical and if you choose to play the conformist, that’s entirely your own issue.

Look, you and I actually agree on a good portion of this when we discuss the atrocities committed by the Israeli government. I have to admit, I follow these developments quite closely because I find Israel to be a fascinating concept geographically and politically, even if I find the political ENTITY itself a bit less appealing 😁, BUT I HAVE NEVER once questioned the right of the State of Israel to exist as the political community of the Jewish people in that sense; rather, what DISTURBS me is the absence of a Palestinian state, which I view as a massive problem, an injustice, a total mess, and a failure of policy all rolled into one.

We clearly use the term Zionism differently today than its original meaning, and I certainly know how to apply it when discussing current events, but if we are being honest and serious, your claim that "Zionism equals Nazism" is a terrible one. Listen, this is a forum, and everything stays on this server for as long as it exists (🤣🤣))

We really ought to maintain some level of intellectual discourse, otherwise, this whole thing will just devolve into a low-rent bar fight full of insults.🤷

On the other hand, I wonder if there’s some kind of unwritten dogma here suggesting that everything Israel does is automatically beyond reproach and immune to any form of criticism.

While it might not be particularly productive to go head-to-head with the moderator's gavel😁, I really have to ask you: can you actually distinguish between criticizing Israeli policy—including all those shady maneuvers they pull off with such blatant, sometimes even sophisticated, arrogance—and what we are actually debating right here? I'm talking about the decision made by this little circle of moderator masterminds to allow open discussion regarding the very existence of the State of Israel—which effectively invites Stormfront-style nonsense—alongside this repulsive, pseudo-intellectual bickering over whether being Jewish is a matter of nationality or religion. Honestly, just tell me truthfully: what would you do if someone were posting similar garbage about the United States and the American people? Even if the comparison isn't perfect, you get my point.
??

By what authority does anyone here get to hide behind the banner of "free speech" to enjoy the luxury of spewing nonsense about the legitimacy of the State of Israel, or questioning whether Israelis are a nation or simply Jews? Or using the lowercase "jew" to be disrespectful while pretending to be incredibly democratic, spitting on censors, and demanding freedoms that you haven't even begun to consider?

Come on... there aren't nearly as many people here who actually enjoy that pro-Nazi filth as you seem to think there are.

I honestly wouldn't bother commenting on the rest of that mess, given how many different types of characters you find in there, but since we're talking about personal perspectives, I suppose this one little comment says everything you need to know about the person on the other side of the screen.
Mark Martinez4 said:Before this recent escalation involving the humanitarian workers, you didn't hear anything about things going poorly in Israel for quite some time.

Basically, it just shows that Mark Martinez4 doesn't really spend much time reading the news, and—at least regarding what happens on this specific forum—isn't actually following the relevant discussions.

Period.

Right here on this Forum, specifically within the Politics section, I think it’s perfectly fair to put "freedom of speech" in quotation marks, just as I have. It doesn't take a genius to predict what these so-called "unpopular opinions" are going to look like; having read them for years now, I can practically recite them from memory.🙄😁

That being said, I’m certainly not ruling out the possibility that certain anarchist premises and conclusions might actually fit quite neatly into the fold. 🙂

And when it comes to Israel—there is more than enough material there to unpack, given everything currently unfolding, and that’s without even touching those Nazi-style delusions, which don't even qualify as "unpopular," they're just plain pathological.
Israel shouldn't exist, and Zionism is a religion, not a nation. in Feedback & Suggestions ·
That is a terrible justification, if this is indeed coming from the Politics moderation team😢

To be clear, denying the right of Israel to exist isn't some intellectual exercise regarding "internationally recognized states"—as you'll likely realize yourself when looking into this topic—it’s usually just post-Nazi hate speech or an echo of views held by someone like Ahmadinejad in his psychotic schemes to "change the world."

In my view, your job as moderators should be to ensure an atmosphere that is sufficiently civil for people to criticize or praise Israeli policy and comment on various events, but for heaven's sake, you should start from the civilized norm that the Jewish people's right to their state is non-negotiable. Now, granted, that state is violent, brutal, unilateral, and dangerously armed, but that is the political reality we have to face. We need to track this entire situation within the broader context of potential global events that could ripple far beyond the Middle East.

I want to pose a question here that has been directed toward official Israeli channels lately, but I am directing it instead to the Forum moderators and administration:
WHAT COMES NEXT? Denying the Holocaust? Denying the criminal nature of regimes like the Axis-aligned puppet states is already a constant practice here on Politics☕

And all of this is done in the name of "freedom of speech"?
It is frankly disgusting to label this as "seeking censorship" when this is what is actually being said.

slybison8 said:dustypuma5 asked for an official statement from the administration regarding that decision, which was actually a joint ruling made by the policy mods—myself included.

I find this decision to be both poorly conceived and quite surprising, especially considering how well everyone understands the current state of affairs over at Politics.🙄

I honestly think this is just going to provide more fuel for those fringe groups lurking on sites like Stormfront, or anyone else looking for an excuse to post their "unconventional" takes against Jews.
It’s honestly quite difficult to engage in discussions like this without immediately being branded an antisemite, which is frustrating because, frankly, you often end up getting more heat from the people on these boards who claim to be experts than from anyone else.

There’s also this underlying trend where people are encouraged to lean into insults directed at Muslims. You see it constantly in almost every other derogatory post, where people start throwing around terms like "Islambosnia," which is just completely unnecessary and totally irrelevant given the social landscape here in the States.

It feels like such a massive reach whenever people try to draw parallels between the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and any local disputes we have here in the States. Honestly, those comparisons just don't hold water. There isn't even a fraction of the historical depth or the sheer global stakes involved in that situation to justify comparing it to our domestic issues, nor are there any actual similarities worth noting.

I’ve been sitting here trying to wrap my head around what exactly the radicalization of this rhetoric is supposed to achieve. When you look at a topic that is already this incredibly sensitive on its own, I just can't quite grasp what the specific end goal or the tangible outcome is meant to be.
In my view, anyone who attempts to deny Jews their right to a name or a sovereign state shouldn't even be granted a seat at the table when these discussions take place. To me, this isn't merely a matter of having a different "opinion" or a different perspective; it’s about reaching a certain baseline of civilized discourse. There is a fundamental level of human decency required to engage in these topics, and if you lack that basic standard, you simply don't belong in the conversation.☕

hollowtrucker77 said:Sarah Wilson95, they basically move threads over to a madhouse depending on how heated the debate gets, just so one side doesn't end up gaining the upper hand, I suppose.
And honestly, I don't see any logic in the idea that if one topic gets moved, another one has to follow suit; I certainly don't see what any of that has to do with the Constitution or having any shred of respect for anything at all.
And please, just show a little bit of dignity and some actual piety toward the victims, or at least toward those who were innocent.

I wasn't suggesting that BOTH should be moved to the madhouse; I am simply stating the fact that both currently reside there.🙄

I wouldn't want to debate the Constitution of the United States or basic historical facts with you, so, sorry, please don't take that personally.

We are talking about a group organized by some extremist association—literally fascists, basically surviving collaborators—operating under the name honorary Bleburg band, where they pay tribute to a "national army" (which was actually just the local version of Nazi thugs from that era). Honestly, you can't expect that kind of content to stay on the main Politics page. No matter how many times figures like Mitt Romney or Nikki Haley went there to pick up a few votes and make fools out of all of you.🙂

How much history do you actually study, and how much weight do you personally give to the Constitution of the United States and our founding principles?

We were having this discussion about the liberation of Washington, D.C., where, if memory serves, roughly 20,000 people lost their lives fighting for the anti-fascist cause during WWII. On top of that, about 50,000 men and women from Washington, D.C. were actively involved in the resistance movement against the Nazi occupation and everything else that went down back then—which I assume most people are aware of. But instead of staying here, that entire thread was moved over to the Madhouse because it was apparently beyond saving.

Meanwhile, the thread regarding Bleiburg, which centers on some gathering organized by extremist groups calling themselves the honorary Bleburg band, 🤣 stays right here on the front page of Politics.🤣

So, there are really only two ways this goes: a) either move these discussions over to History, which is what I’ve been suggesting for years, though clearly the moderators over in History don't want the folks from Politics coming in to brighten up their days and nights.

b) or, perhaps, start paying a bit more attention to historical facts and show some respect for the Constitution.

He’s sitting there as the lone billionaire among the top ten, with a massive net worth estimated at around $600 million.

Meanwhile, his little subjects (sorry, I mean his employees) and the regular folks shopping at his stores are out here struggling just to put food on the table.

It’s a total mess. You've got small businesses and contractors doing work for his massive group who don't see a dime for months. Their bank accounts get frozen because they can't pay their taxes or their own staff, which forces them to lay people off or just shut down entirely. It's brutal.

And then there's him. "Mr." Hershey, coasting on the wealth he built with his "brilliance"... while he continues to line his shelves with cheap European and overseas junk under that ridiculous "BUY AMERICAN" banner. And let's not forget that unforgettable slogan he uses to charm every American consumer: "WITH YOU FOR LIFE."

So, how much longer are we going "with him"? 🤷

Most of that foreign clutter wrapped up in "Made in America" packaging actually comes from neighboring countries; if you take a second to squint at the fine print on the Kmart and Standard Chartered products found in Walmart stores, you'll see they're almost entirely sourced from right across the border...☕

Honestly, that part is even more devastating. They understand exactly what is happening, but they are powerless to change it because the brain can't command the body anymore; the neurological pathways are essentially blocked, leaving the mind to simply sit there while we expect it to stop producing nonsense or trying to formulate grand, cosmic plans that it simply cannot execute.🙄
