The Magnificent Seven (2016) in Movies ·
Not a bad flick—though I haven't actually seen the original one. My main gripe is that the villain feels pretty thin; he’s basically just a caricature, which kind of pulls me out of the whole experience. Also, there's this bit at the start where they mention capitalism, and honestly, it felt a little off—it's hard to imagine him being familiar with the term back then, since it didn't really hit the mainstream until the late 19th century. In fact, the first real written trace of the word pops up in The Newcomes by William Makepeace Thackeray (way back in 1854).

Is it possible to change my username in feralranger81 (just so only the first letter is capitalized)?

Sure thing—just reach out to rustydrifter10.
Ice Age: Continental Drift in Movies ·
Nah, I knew the 3D version was dubbed, but there wasn't anything mentioned about this standard one. The dubbing is honestly pretty hilarious though—you know, how they would be like we, hanging out and chilling with friends... I didn't get that far. 😁

I actually walked out of the theater after just thirty minutes today. Honestly, if you're over the age of six, watching something that poorly synchronized is just a miserable experience.

A buddy of mine who actually has INTERNET just sent me this:

http://www.nba.com/games/20120423/TO...#nbaGIboxscore

I was checking some stats over on NBA.tv—and apparently, I'm a total amateur—because it showed 8 points for Iguodala, but turns out he hit that in just the first quarter! What was I even looking at? haha. So, I did a little digging to double-check, and yeah, looks like both of those bets cleared after all.

I've got an Iguodala over 13.5 on one leg of my parlay, and then Ellis over 16.5 on the other—anybody happen to catch the final scores for those? 🤷

What a disaster—Boston was my very last leg on the parlay. 😢

The announcement was absolutely insane—we're talking 19 million likes already. 🤦🤦🤦
He’s heading down to South Beach to hit that Play button.
I just stumbled upon this article about a device that uses laser technology to deliver medications—stuff that used to require an IV drip, for instance.

A special laser source ablates outer skin tissue painless in a highly controlled and accurate fashion.

# Short pulses practically eliminate thermal damage

# No carbonisation, only fast ablation of skin tissue

# Very accurate skin ablation in 5-10 µm steps

# Variable laser deflection allows flexible formation of pore arrays

I’d love to hear what you all think—is this just some flashy marketing gimmick, or could it actually become a real thing? Also, does anyone know what kind of dosage we're talking about here? 🤷

I mean, I doubt we'll see this popping up on the shelves at Gap in a couple of days, right? 🤦

Roughly how long does it take for money from DraftKings to actually hit my bank account? It’s already showing up as sent on their end, but nothing's showing up in my balance yet.
Never Back Down [2008] in Movies ·
I’m feeling pretty hopeless because it’s just so full of clichés—but hey, there are definitely people out there who live for that kind of stuff, so it might actually land well with them. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if FOX picked this up for their New Year's Eve lineup.

PS: I recently caught Step Up 2: The Streets (didn't see the first one, by the way). It feels pretty similar to this movie. I’m seriously just waiting for the day Hollywood decides to make a blockbuster about buff guys competing in high-stakes folk costume crochet contests. 🙄

Honestly, none of that really works for me—it all seems way too complicated, and I'm just not in a position where I actually need it right now (like, say, recovering from some kind of surgery).
Hey, Sam Hall15, do you happen to know if there’s any research being done on finding ways to get medication into the bloodstream without all the pain?

I really need a long-term solution here—something that actually sticks. I guess a quick fix might work for a little while, but for someone living with hemophilia, being able to manage things at home is absolutely vital to staying healthy.

Two 10ml shots, about 20 minutes apart.

PS: The formatting here is a little wonky—this forum is driving me crazy!

I honestly don't see myself ever being on Braunilo again—I really only used it back when I was stuck in a hospital bed for a month straight taking meds every single day. These days, I'll even skip a dose for five days straight without thinking twice, and since I'm busy with school, there's just no way I could be juggling classes while dealing with something like Braunilo.

Dealing with hemophilia—and honestly, I’m out here using those butterfly needles, not some tiny little micro-needles.
Those Braun ones? Total garbage. They leave actual craters in my arm.

Because of some ongoing health issues, I've been stuck poking my veins every two or three days for about 15 years now. Honestly, my veins are just shot—today was a nightmare because I had to poke myself five different times. It’s like they just won't cooperate, I don't even know what the deal is. I'll go in, manage to get maybe half a syringe's worth (out of the usual 2 or 3 needed), and then I have to start all over again.
I was wondering if there's actually a way to fix or improve vein health, or if there's any new medical tech on the horizon that might make getting these meds into my bloodstream a lot less of a struggle?
Was Jesus a liberal or a conservative? in Close to Politics ·
You can say with absolute certainty that he wasn't a communist. I mean, his two core commandments regarding love—( *Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
* Love your neighbor as yourself )—just put him way too far from any communist ideology. A true communist would sell their own mother out in a heartbeat for the Party, which completely flies in the face of that second *. Besides, a real communist isn't even capable of loving with "all their heart and soul"—they're mostly just capable of feeling hunger—which is the only thing that reminds them they're actually alive (shoutout to that first-of-the-month bean soup!).

PS: As the author of this thread, I’m expecting you to start a brand new one titled: Did Jesus have long hair? 🙄 And let the final topic be: So, who actually is Jesus?
When does life actually begin? in Philosophy ·
slyorca11 said:The real question we should be chewing on is when exactly consciousness kicks in.

So, does that mean there’s no life without consciousness? Like, could I just go ahead and murder my mom while she's sleeping since she isn't conscious at the moment?

So, here’s a bit of a semi-off-topic question from someone who isn't exactly an expert 😳 — I just found out I need glasses. Can I jump straight into wearing contacts instead of dealing with frames right away?
