Like, does it really matter if I grab some Whey mixed with milk in the morning instead of casein with milk when it comes to absorption? For instance, if I’m stuck at college from 8 AM to 3 PM, and I have breakfast around 7 AM—say a sandwich or eggs plus milk and Whey—and then just grab another sandwich or two later on, will the results for my body and muscle growth be better if I switch to casein?

I really want to build up my legs, but nothing is working. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks! (:
Ashley Perez50 said:but the real question is, can those 30g actually replace a full meal, or are you just going to be starving right after?
Kenneth Martinez3 said:Why not just mix it with milk if they claim you can? It would definitely bump up the calorie count, right?
Kimberly Wright said:I don't really get how all this calorie counting works, but I guess you actually have to do the math.
Metric BMR formula Quote : Women: BMR = 655 + ( 9.6 x weight in lbs ) + ( 2.54 x height in inches ) - ( 4.7 x age in years )
Men: BMR = 66 + ( 13.7 x weight in lbs ) + ( 5 x height in inches ) - ( 6.8 x age in years )
To figure out your total daily caloric burn, just take your BMR and multiply it by your activity level from this list:
1. Sedentary (basically sitting on the couch all day): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
2. Lightly active (hitting the gym or light sports 1-3 days a week): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
3. Moderately active (working out 3-5 days a week): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
4. Very active (intense workouts 6-7 days a week): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
5. Extra active (heavy lifting/training plus a physically demanding job): Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

I absolutely love it when someone takes my hand and leads the way. 😢I am sorry! My bad. I totally messed that up.

It doesn't even come close to the grind of a full-time job combined with all those other "adulting" responsibilities that start piling up on you.
shadowcobra32 said:The thing is, I'm stuck at university practically all day, so I don't eat properly.
And when I finally crawl back home from campus in the evening, I just grab some pancakes or hit up the dining hall (and we all know how "gourmet" dining hall food really is).😢
I barely move because after being stuck on campus all day, I have zero willpower left for anything other than sitting or lying down...
Look, let's be real... I know I have a problem. I know exactly what I need to change, but I just can't find the motivation. It’s partly the depression—I mean, I have a boyfriend and my life seems normal to everyone else, but I struggle with depression and it just kills any drive I might have to lose weight...
Alex Long8 said:Just one question! Instead of glucose, what can I take with my protein after a workout? Are 1-2 bananas enough, or something else?
fadedrider17 said:I have to admit, I’m pretty skeptical about aspartame myself.
Lies, pure lies. They claim there’s zero sugar—look at any soda bottle.
Then they’ll list something like "aspartame 1.1 MG" or whatever else is hiding in there.
I was actually at the grocery store today just staring at labels, trying to figure out what's actually in my food. The lady working the aisles gave me such a weird look, too. Like, sorry if I make you uncomfortable, but if I come back tomorrow, am I supposed to just stand there for two hours taking notes on every single ingredient?
It shouldn't be this hard just to know what we're putting into our bodies.
granitegardener14 said:Look, this isn't strictly about protein, but it’s definitely about nutrition, so I figured I'd drop it here instead of cluttering up another thread:
- what's the best way to use fructose, when should I take it, and how much am I looking at?
P.S. Please don't rip me apart if this sounds like a rookie question. I'm just starting to wrap my head around all this, and I know there are plenty of experts and geniuses on here, so bear with me...
