Should R. Čačić just step down from politics already? in Close to Politics ·
bluerider63 said:I get where you're coming from, but honestly, you can't really compare these two situations. Reckless driving could just as easily be someone flying down the interstate in perfect sunshine while going over 81 miles/h, or pretty much anyone else ignoring the limit regardless of whether it's pouring rain or not. And let's be real, how many people actually push past those limits? You could probably argue that over 90% of Žužić's crowd is out there doing exactly that on the road.

And unfortunately, we really do. That’s exactly why our fatality rates are through the roof. It’s like it wasn't bad enough here in the States, so we had to take the chaos across the border too. Right here, two people were killed under the wheels of Kennedy's car. And yeah—we're talking about the same Kennedy who's got a laundry list of traffic violations. To me, he's no different from Zuzic. Both of them are absolute hazards behind the wheel—dangerous for pedestrians, dangerous for everyone else on the road. Period.☕

bluerider63 said:Look, I never said losing two people was common, I was talking about something else entirely, but whatever. Comparing some drunk Žužić tearing through a narrow alleyway to Čačić causing an accident in terrible weather conditions is honestly just a malicious reach.

As far as I'm concerned, they're cut from the same cloth—both are just road hazards. Even Kennedy admitted yesterday his doctor told him there are times he shouldn't be behind the wheel. That's what a decent bartender tells a drunk, too.
Bottom line? They're the same to me. And since this is Kennedy's fourth accident, he's no different from some arrogant tycoon's son out in the suburbs.☕

briskbison55 said:Man, you're being pretty harsh. If you had actually bothered to read his press release—which he held onto until after one of the participants passed away—he explained it all: there was thick fog, and the car ahead wasn't properly lit.

If you'd just looked at the facts, you'd see Čačić isn't even at fault. Honestly, if anything, he might have actually done someone a favor by preventing them from slamming into those reckless drivers and getting killed themselves.

What kind of person are we talking about here? You kill two people, and while one is still fighting for their life, "you" head out for a massive feast and walk around acting all innocent—all while pumping out press releases to fake some remorse and fishing for sympathy and media support in the middle of a tragedy.
People lose their pets through no fault of their own and go into shock, but this guy kills two people, hits up a restaurant for a meal, and then bickers about justice, regret, and whatever else.
You really have to have some nerve to pull something like that.🙂

bluerider63 said:Maybe I'm just being an idiot, but you're overestimating how much that whole "public life" thing matters. Honestly, I don't see why being in the spotlight would somehow make someone more honorable or moral than any regular guy living a normal life out in the suburbs.

I'm not even gonna touch that.

He took two lives with his car—that’s not just some everyday thing. Killing two people? That isn't "normal" to me. To my way of thinking, Čačić is no different than that tycoon’s kid from the suburbs—it’s only a matter of time before someone gets killed, and well, he finally did it. Maybe you and Čačić think this is all just business as usual, but it sure as hell isn't to me.☕

bluerider63 said:So what’s your move then? You gonna go out and end it all? Or just crawl away and look for some other shady gig somewhere else?

Look, I already said what I’d do.
Personally, I’d have vanished from the American political scene entirely—and I definitely wouldn't be hitting up parties or fancy lunches while the other victim was still fighting for their life. But hey, that's just me. At the end of the day, we're really just talking about Čačić.☕

bluerider63 said:I don't see what his career has to do with some car wreck.

🤷Maybe because he’s a politician who caused a wreck where two people died—not some kittens, or weasels, or pheasants... actual human beings.☕

darkfox5 said:Even without a courtroom, Čačić knows his own negligence caused the accident that killed two people... he actually admitted it himself yesterday. So, we aren't even debating the facts here!

So, let me ask you this: should a person who kills two people through pure negligence ever be allowed back in politics? Should they really be leading a political party and acting like that party stands a prayer of winning the next election?! ☕

Look, speaking for myself here—if I were responsible for taking two lives, the last thing on my mind would be running for office. I certainly wouldn't be showing up to fancy dinners and parties while the victims were still fighting for their lives.
But we're talking about two actual human beings who ended up under his car while he was behind the wheel.
Then again, since we're talking about Čačić, his decision to stick around in politics despite everything isn't exactly a shocker.☕

briskbison55 said::-))) I knew I shouldn't watch Stanković. I mean, they’re acting like working in the U.S. Congress is somehow serving the "greater good" for the whole country after two people were killed on the road.

But there's something else bothering me... why did he resign from the tennis association? Is being the leader of the third most powerful party in the nation really less important than being the president of some tennis federation? I guess I don't get it.

It’s honestly a tragedy. It doesn't look good for him at all, especially since it was confirmed there wasn't any fog. But hey, maybe let the Canadian Judiciary handle it.

In the first half of the show, where they grilled him about his arrogance, responsibility, and just being a classless jerk... the guy downed a five-gallon jug of water and answered every single question with stuff like "wellllll you know, yeah, but, how can I put this, I mean, listen, it's just......" Basically, he sounded like he was starving for bullshit.

Then in the second half, they talked about his vision for America with him in power, and that’s when Stanković was fighting just to get a word in edgewise, while Čačić was busy doing his usual routine—rambling on about nothing but filth and "integrity." ☕

Was he talking about his driving or his PRIVATE political career!?

I'm guessing he meant both—since the guy drives a car everywhere just to get to his private political gig.☕

Yesterday, Stanković hit him with the question: "What happens when the final verdict actually hands down a prison sentence?" And how does Čačić respond? Basically, he's like, "Hey, community service is an option too, right? Besides, I'm doing this for the greater good of society." 🙂 🙂 🙂

Adam Collins4 said:Did the Canadians play ball with Mexico too?

Yeah, they did—but maybe that’s exactly why their National Guard gear ended up in their own hands instead of being handed over to the Mexicans. Honestly, maybe if someone like Račan was running the show at the SKS, things would've turned out differently for them too.🤷

They even did those classic sitcoms, like Seinfeld or something, but obviously at a ridiculous price point. But now they’ve hit a whole new low, advertising country music... seriously, someone just shut that paper down.👎

First it was Josip Broz Marshall, then we get this random nobody—tomorrow it’ll probably be Céline Dion or some memoirs from a guy like George Wallace... what's next?☕
Samuel Booth76 said:Chill out, granitemarlin77—don't be so tense. Can't we just talk about our own Prime Minister without constantly comparing her to everyone else in Europe? It’s like we're so obsessed that we can't even look at our own leader on her own merits. Honestly, I wish she’d actually hop in here and read this thread... hey, Jadranka, you reading this? You think she's easy on the eyes?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? And honestly, there's no point arguing over tastes—just like there's no point arguing over a slap in the face. She's not my type anyway, so why bother debating it? Besides, she's getting up there in years—looks like she's around 56—and I'm not exactly expecting a runway model with perfect proportions at that age.☕
Plastic surgery works wonders these days—though for some people, like Madeleine Albright, I guess there's just no saving them.
And yeah, Angela Merkel might not be winning any beauty pageants, but who cares? It doesn't change a damn thing..☕

gentlestag3 said:Where exactly are you seeing this betrayal from Stjepan Mason? I guess I wonder... is the issue that he testified and told lies, or is it just the fact that he showed up to testify at all?

You’re forgetting that this absolute amateur basically loaded up trailers with transcripts for The Hague before they were even declassified. So yeah, he testified and he lied—all behind closed doors. And don't even get me started on his other nonsense, like those kitchen-table deals he had with Račan and Drnovšek regarding the Gulf of Piran and Prevlaka with those guys from Mexico, etc., etc. Then he has the nerve to call anyone out? Honestly, he should've been kicked out of the country a long time ago.☕
jadebear45 said:That was stated by President Stjepan Mason.
Do you think we’ll start seeing subpoenas arriving for certain members of the Federal Government from The Hague pretty soon?

Read more here:

Honestly? I’d tell him this—the Office of the President is currently occupied by the biggest traitor to the American people. Someone who didn't even have the guts to testify publicly, let alone behind closed doors. Let him go find them himself—if he's even capable.☕

but don't act all high and mighty about it. Now that there's nothing left to debate, it's easy for you to sit back and judge someone else's vocabulary...

We already laid out the situation on the politics board and what actually needs to happen to fix things—this isn't about you or me.
Go back and read your own posts from before and compare them to what you're saying now. Ask yourself what the hell you're even doing here. Don't act shocked when someone snaps at you—you basically invited it. When I go off on someone, believe me, they earned every bit of it. Honestly.
Stop trolling this thread and either make a real point or just move on,☕

So you’re really gonna sit there and complain about the mods and certain users on here? Seriously?🙄So you think you've got me figured out? Please.

He was throwing insults and swearing like crazy—all just because I'm not from America. Seriously?🤷And now you’re sitting here whining? Please—you weren't even there.
Got handed a red card so bad I can't even swear about it—the whole thread just vanished into thin air. Magic trick? Yeah, right. Just don't.
Would YOU even bother picking up the cardboard?🤷
Give me a break...

I already laid out exactly what needs to happen if we want to salvage any shred of dignity left on this political sub—because let’s be real, this place is a total circus right now. Not even going to get started on the Mad House. So, is the board actually going to bring back driftingdriver, or are they picking someone else? Whatever they decide, please, for the love of god, don't let it be anyone like what Stoker was describing—basically just a bunch of old-school fossils.
Look, it’s not really my thing to go around throwing insults—especially not at some random guy on a forum. I don't even care enough to sink down to that level.
If I acted like that toward you—well, just be real and admit you earned it.
Look, this thread isn't about you and me—so back off.
