actually reading what’s right in front of you with some actual comprehension, especially that final sentence 😉

So, how exactly do you plan on proving this so-called "verbal agreement"?

If the other side just flat-out denies it ever happened—and they’ll probably claim any witnesses you bring are just buddies of yours looking out for you—all while you're basically trying to claw back money that was a gift from years ago when things were actually good between you...🤷
well, any halfway decent lawyer is going to tear that argument apart at the seams...
It might drag on forever, I suppose, but I get where you're coming from; you might as well file it and let a judge decide what's what...

Wait, so now I'm supposed to be the one doing the research for you?

I don't really follow... 😂

So, what, dragons are just flying around us too? I saw a documentary on History Channel once that claimed something similar...

The rent from both units could theoretically cover the mortgage on a single apartment under perfect circumstances...
but honestly, that's a massive stretch because there's always that risk where one unit—or even both—ends up sitting empty without any tenants...

and you might actually make more money just putting your cash in a high-yield savings account at Chase than you would dealing with the headache of being a landlord...

Mostly, if you don't have anything in writing, getting that money back becomes a massive uphill battle... and honestly, it just all comes down to whether or not your dear partner actually has a conscience when it comes to paying people back...

I mean, most people have already pointed this out, so sure, I guess I'll just wander around aimlessly until the USD-denominated loans finally show up... though if folks had just kept their savings tucked away in some local credit union back in the day—you know, when those places actually offered decent dollar-based lending—we’d probably be looking at a much higher volume of these types of loans right now...

The banks shouldn't have even broken a sweat setting all those rigid conditions in the first place, because let's be honest, there were plenty of people who didn't care about the fine print and were perfectly willing to sign whatever was put in front of them
if more people had actually stood their ground and said "no thanks," the banks would have been forced to pivot and actually cater to the public... though, of course, you can't ignore how much the federal government plays into this too, since they don't really give a damn about what individual interest rates look like as long as they get their cut, which is exactly why we ended up seeing those rates spike for regular Americans

Wait, which exact countries are we talking about here?
Friend won't pay back the loan we took out together in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
What kind of principal are we even talking about here?

If he really lent him 50k$0.00, I’m betting there wasn't a cent in interest since they're buddies... and even if there was, at 15%, you'd be looking at more than 10,000, which means maybe something like 25$0.00 paid back over 4 years
...
Or maybe the interest rates are just straight-up predatory, coming from that guy the author mentioned

I felt the same way before this, Nicholas Turner... and honestly, looking at how things are moving, I’m expecting interest rates on those new loans to climb even higher during the first wave, though eventually, they'll probably start tailoring everything to fit each individual person's specific situation

tough spot

legally speaking, if your guy just handed over $xy in cash to a buddy
unless they actually sat down and signed a formal loan agreement, he isn't technically obligated to pay a dime back, and honestly, he’s going to have a hell of a time proving in court that it was ever meant to be a loan at all
he could easily just claim it was a gift...
or he could just play dumb

but something else about this whole thing feels off to me, you mentioned he was handing over $700 at a time$267, but now it turns out he only paid back $10,000 total
if he really had been giving $700 installments, there should have been at least 33 of them$200

Well, clearly you weren't traveling all that much, and honestly, it sounds like it was a lifetime ago anyway... 😁

I feel like a broken record saying this 🤷

Anyway, if there’s any flexibility in how we handle things, I’d much rather just agree on a set price for the actual work and the quality delivered... rather than strictly watching the clock by the hour

Taylor Sanchez10, look, if you’re so unhappy with how things are run here, you’re more than welcome to pack your bags and head over there...

But honestly, if they ever brought that kind of absolute nonsense over here—you know, those ridiculous bans on working extra hours or forcing everyone into this rigid, one-size-fits-all labor structure—then yeah, I’d probably be right there with you, moving out...
It’s just plain idiotic to tell someone who actually wants to put in the hours and earn a living that they aren't allowed to...

Hey, Senator Schumer, was that your bright idea?
I mean, that absurd notion that a doctor shouldn't be allowed to run a private practice on the side?
As if they actually want to spend their entire life stuck in a hospital ward, and instead of heading home to see their family, they’re choosing to go straight to a private clinic to pick up more shifts...😳

briskdrifter3 said:As for me... I pull about 40 hours a week—five days, standard. Weekends are strictly off limits, and overtime? Maybe three or four hours a month on average. Given the local economic climate here, the pay is actually quite decent. Though, I must admit, it took quite a bit of maneuvering—and a complete change of employers—to finally secure something like this.
Of course, we're talking about an American corporation here. One shouldn't expect that kind of setup from just any local firm in the States.

My situation is pretty much the same—working for a private US firm, too...🤷
though I know plenty of people with similar schedules, some even working fewer than 40 hours a week while pulling in even higher salaries...
and honestly, none of them I know work for a government agency or anything municipal...
Standard 40-hour work week? in Economy ·
I actually work a schedule just like that at my current job 🤷
Monday through Friday, 10 to 6
and yeah, I’m making basically minimum wage
but honestly, it works for me because having that freedom is what matters most... the workload isn't overwhelming enough to stop me from running my own side business on the side—it's a private company, mind you, so I'm not tied down by some rigid government agency

I mean, if he’s just going to grind away year after year turning out the exact same stuff as everyone else, then he’s never actually going to see any real profit... 🤷

He won't really be touching those kinds of numbers until he's put in maybe five or six years of hard labor 😉 (we're talking around $5,500)
Honestly, instead of just throwing money down the drain on stadium seats or whatever, it would be way more efficient to just lend that cash to someone who actually wants to make a go of it

It would be much better if things were organized through cooperatives—though, let's face it, that’s always been the biggest headache here, all that fear of collaboration and the sheer inability to reach an agreement... but if they did, you'd have everything streamlined, from the cattle farmers to the guys running rental properties and everything in between
But hey, don't feel too bad about it, this isn't just our local struggle, so there's your small consolation
Agritourism in Travel ·
exactly, there’s really no point in trying to educate them... it's better if they just focus on their own work, and then eventually someone else steps up to take over the reins, you know, like their son, or a nephew, or some other relative...

I mean, why on earth would a farmer want to deal with this? Why should he be expected to pivot his whole life toward tourism?
The older folks living out in the {{Dalmatian Hinterland}}... they aren't going to find it easy at all to jump into the tourism industry, believe me, I know from experience...😉
Of course, the local municipality ought to offer support to anyone who actually shows interest, but according to your logic, someone should be going door-to-door, practically begging people to see that tourism is a good path to take, while the rest of us are just supposed to foot the bill for it all...🤷

From what I’ve been seeing regarding the money flow, the larger portion of the funds coming from the European Union will be distributed through various grants...

It’s the same story for farmers out in the rural areas, too; they can tap into those EU funds to kickstart their own agritourism ventures, but there’s always that catch where you have to actually step up and risk your own hard-earned cash, which, if you ask me, is the single biggest hurdle we face here in America...

Not to mention all the usual headaches involving politics and endless bureaucracy, of course...
But honestly, the real issue lies with the people themselves, those who just can't seem to pull the trigger and make a decision to get moving...
I mean, why should the government have to sit down and explain to someone what’s good for them and what isn't?

A property is really only worth whatever the highest Customer is willing to pay 😉
that's essentially the bedrock of how our economy functions 🙂

plus, things can always slide lower than you expect... I mean, even a major bank could seize a house and auction it off for a third of what was owed on the mortgage, leaving the rest of the debt hanging over someone's head

Yeah, because it’s just a standard Microsoft card
I’m pretty certain about that since my younger brother uses one... he gets his transfers from the SEC and handles all his online shopping through it without any issues

As for those other student perks, I haven't really looked into them...

if you don't see anything there, give them a call, because apparently they've changed things and only issue those cards upon request now—I used to have one sitting there just to cover my insurance, but then they went ahead and canceled it without much warning, so I had to get on the phone with Chase Bank to sort it all out...
