I've never complained about him, and I bet he hates my guts, but my faith doesn't allow me to hold a grudge, so rowdyhawk10 is the best mod ever...
And what's with this idea that he's always right? Look, aren't we all pretty sure we're right sometimes? He's just constantly facing those challenges because he's a mod...!!!!

If I harbor any hatred toward you, then God would have to hate me. That's really all I can say, so I'll leave you to decide what that means. 🙂 My best to Jeffrey Sanchez7, Nonick, FMN, Homer, steeleagle2, and you, swiftorca57 (since it’s a shame when we fail to understand one another)... but also to everyone else. 👋

FMN, hello.
I don't really have anything specific to vent about, so let's just talk. Regarding thread 114, I suppose there are three main issues worth noting. First, the smallest issue is that this particular thread tends to get bogged down quite often, despite being a special, pinned, sticky topic with its own set of rules. It isn't like the usual, standard forum threads—the kind we see in places like a local community center or a neighborhood town hall meeting—which receive much less oversight. We pay extra attention to these specific discussions. This becomes particularly tricky when debates start heating up, which isn't ideal, as our job is simply to maintain order. We frequently find ourselves forced to delete chats within this thread, but instead of moving on, people start protesting why things were removed. Over time, these deletions have accumulated, eventually forming a certain perception among the users. I wonder, what would have happened if I had actually lost my temper because I was constantly having to prune the chat? Has anyone here even considered that? The second issue arose concerning the question of a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim. As a moderator, I couldn't allow anyone to be insulted just because they held a different opinion. That discussion really highlighted how much we all differ. My role isn't to pass judgment on the correctness of someone's religious views or to impose my own beliefs on anyone; rather, it is to prevent discussions from devolving into personal attacks—which is truly the only thing I have done. As a person and a believer, I certainly have my own views that I might choose to express. However, I try my best to separate my personal convictions from my duties as a moderator. As far as I know, I haven't issued a ban based on someone's differing beliefs, but rather when the conversation turns into an ad hominem attack. For instance, some users complained to me about my strictness toward certain groups—but my strictness wasn't due to their beliefs (which only bother me when they veer into fanaticism), but rather because of the way they barge into discussions, violating forum rules and turning the space into a sort of anarchy. Just because they haven't read (or don't know) the rules doesn't give them the right to storm into threads like bandits. This forum needs to be protected from such intrusions, especially since the administration’s policy is relatively liberal—meaning everyone has the freedom to write as long as they respect the rules (and those rules serve as the final arbiter in any dispute, including this one). This isn't some ultra-religious forum like many others where lying to members isn't penalized. Here, we strictly penalize ad hominem attacks, and that is a firm stance. Consequently, an impression was created that I am harder on certain groups than others, but that is only because they haven't learned basic internet etiquette and refuse to follow the guidelines of this forum, which members are obligated to follow and which took significant effort to establish.

Regarding the marriage to a non-Muslim—in this case, a person of the book (a Catholic)—I asked you all privately to please stop. Semek provided a stance taken directly from the official website of the Islamic Community, which is the administrative body for the community in both the US and similar jurisdictions, providing a fatwa confirming that a sister does not leave the faith, even if that action is considered a sin. To me, it isn't even a sin because I understand the circumstances, but that isn't the point. Despite my requests, the debate continued, often descending into personal attacks, which led us to delete those posts.

I feel compelled to explain my actions regarding you, since steeleagle2 is boycotting the forum because I gave you a warning. You are a brother to me, and we have generally had a good relationship; it wouldn't be difficult for me to apologize if you feel it is necessary. So, judge for yourself. I issued you a warning in this post, and the reason I gave at the time was: spamming the thread with an irrelevant response that didn't relate to the post being quoted. (steeleagle2 concluded from this that I was claiming you had "lost it," which is not what I meant). In reality, here is what happened. First, Selek stated that a Muslim woman who marries a non-Muslim ceases to be Muslim, a view supported by you, steeleagle2, and several other members including InsanInside. Then, Sunašce (who is married to a Catholic) responded, stating she believes in Allah, performs her prayers, and does not consider herself a non-Muslim despite her marriage, noting that her husband is not a pagan but a person of the book (a Christian). Then, Alem XCS asked Semek and you for proof that marrying a person of the book results in leaving Islam. Semek then stepped in to explain and provided a link to the official ruling from the religious authority, stating that while such a woman has committed a sin, she has not left the faith. But you disputed this (allegedly, because in our circles, those in the religious leadership are often pressured to give such rulings given the local context) and offered verse 4:141 as evidence for her question. You wrote: "The prohibition seems to be based on certain grounds. Regarding verse 4:141... it would have been fine if Alem had asked you about that specifically, but she didn't. The prohibition remains, and nobody is disputing that it’s considered a sin or that it is forbidden. However, Alem wasn't claiming the prohibition doesn't exist—in fact, she agrees with the ban—but she did take issue with the idea that committing such an act means one ceases to be a Muslim. If someone is a sinner and breaks a rule, I suppose they haven't necessarily stopped being a Muslim. So, to be specific: Alem asked you for evidence regarding apostasy, but you just handed her a justification for a ban, which nobody was actually disputing. Is this clear enough, FMN?

Exceptional. Important.I was looking into the context surrounding verse 4:141, and here is how I see the situation. Following the Hijra, there were certain people in Medina who acted with complete hypocrisy; they were essentially playing both sides, flattering the Muslims one moment and the Muhajirun or Ansar the next, just to ensure they could align themselves with whoever came out on top. I believe this verse specifically addresses that duplicity rather than being about marriage. Let’s take a look at this passage in the context of the verses immediately preceding and following it:

4:140. It’s already stated in the Quran: if you hear the words of Allah being denied or mocked, you shouldn't sit with those people until they move on to some other topic; otherwise, I suppose you might end up just like them. I imagine Allah will surely gather the hypocrites and the disbelievers together in Gehenna. 141. These are the ones who sit around waiting to see how things turn out for you. If Allah grants you victory, they’ll claim, “Weren't we on your side all along?” But if fortune favors the disbelievers, they’ll tell them, “Couldn't we have beaten you, and didn't we protect you from the believers?” On Judgment Day, Allah will judge everyone fairly. And I don't think Allah will allow the disbelievers any opportunity to destroy the believers. 142. Hypocrites actually believe that Allah is trying to deceive them, but He will surely punish them for their own deception. When they stand up to pray, they do it so lazily—mostly just to put on a show for others, while they barely even think of Allah.

It seems pretty obvious that we're dealing with the hypocrites of Medina here. Take the mayor of Medina before the Hijra, for example—he’d play both sides, showering Muhammad with praise one minute and then traveling to visit the Meccan Quraysh just to talk down about Muslims the next. It's also quite clear that these verses don't actually mention marriage itself; rather, Alem was simply asking for proof regarding what constitutes leaving Islam, not for evidence that a specific sinful act is forbidden. That’s why I flagged your post as providing a pointless response. We all know that most verses have... The reason for this post. Without some sort of context or specific event to anchor it, it’s pretty difficult to grasp the true meaning behind a verse. Because of that, I don't think verse 4:141 should be used as a basis for someone to claim that another person is no longer a Muslim. I actually found myself wondering if, by citing that particular verse, you were trying to suggest to Alemi that she is being hypocritical. I guess I suspected you might be implying she’s being two-faced because she's defending her sister—who married a Christian—just to curry favor with them. As it happens, I've also been accused of being a hypocrite myself for defending my little sister and justifying her marriage. If that wasn't your intention, then I suppose I owe you an apology. Do you accept this explanation and my apology? 🙂 I think you should probably clarify things, specifically regarding steeleagle2’s boycott, but honestly, it’s high time we put this whole topic to rest once and for all. I’m hoping you can give us a straight answer here; steeleagle2 is pretty upset with you, though only he knows if I was ever actually unfair to him. It’s particularly strange that you didn't get a full ban for that previous post, just a warning. That ban only happened because two warnings added up—which was triggered when you called that woman a monkey in your second post, basically egging her on and even admitting you deserved a warning for it. I was simply following your lead. 😁

One last thing—it wasn't exactly a smooth process. Regarding the boycott, I did try my best to talk them out of it. I feel somewhat bad about it, even though I still think the whole thing is a bit childish... but then again, nobody else seems to be stepping up to do anything about it. 😢 They could have kept discussing things on the main board, where they might have pressured me here in the complaints section to fix my mistakes, address any injustices, or correct unfair actions. I feel particularly bad about Aduru; his protests always seemed to hit at the worst possible moments—like waiting for a train only for it to pass right before you arrive. And when things actually started falling apart, he was nowhere to be found. I’ve said some pretty harsh things about him here in the complaints section, rather than on the main forum, and I suppose I regret that now. I also feel terrible about steeleagle2, to the point where it's hard to wrap my head around why this is even happening. The strangest part of all this, though, is my conviction that you aren't actually angry with me over that disciplinary notice; instead, everyone else is boycotting specifically because you received it. It's sympathetic, in a way—nobody ever seems to boycott because of the injustice done to them personally. It’s always about someone else. 🙄 I have attempted to communicate with the Dervish and others, but it seems to have been an exercise in futability. I suppose it might be time to let these matters settle; I am certainly open to cooperation. I could even choose to step back from these topics entirely. However, I truly have no intention of tolerating off-topic chatter, spamming serious discussions with idle chat, or—most importantly—ad hominem attacks. Since I serve as a moderator, I would hope my efforts might be respected, rather than having everyone erupt in protest every time a post is removed. We end up deleting dozens of posts daily, yet most people don't make a scene about it. They generally accept the rules and move on. Because of the frequent protests lately, I’ve gathered the impression that I am being harder on Muslims than on anyone else, which I don't believe is accurate. Perhaps you could suggest to the Dervish that he view things this way; it would be a shame if he decided to leave. I know things are difficult for him, and I think he knows that I realize that too (since I tend to be quite observant 🤣), so there really isn't any need to continue this boycott. The community should bear with us. Peace

wearywolf282 said:I have some grievances regarding the moderator operating under the handle "rowdyhawk10," and because I stumbled upon an entire thread dedicated to him—quite by accident, I might add—I feel compelled to weigh in here, with all due respect to the community.

The crux of the matter involves my contributions to a thread titled 'Islam - 114 Questions, 114 Answers.' Because of my recent post on this site, I was slapped with an infraction via private message—specifically regarding this post:

This infraction, or warning, stems from what rowdyhawk10 characterizes as 'proselytizing' within my message; essentially, he claims I am promoting my own religion.
The issue, however, is that Mr. rowdyhawk10 is a Muslim, which suggests a potential bias. I want to bring this to the attention of the site owners. Usually, you see a diverse group of moderators on online forums, but here, I see only rowdyhawk10. It would be prudent to have an atheist, an agnostic, a Buddhist, or someone else entirely—someone who isn't Muslim—serving alongside him. This would prevent rowdyhawk10 from being in a position where he is inadvertently contradicting himself or using the forum as a platform for 'missionary' work. I will explain why this constitutes proselytizing at the end of this critique.

The reality is that in order for me to demonstrate why I disagree with certain tenets of Islam, I have to present my own perspective and my own beliefs as laid out in the Bible. Apparently, the moderator found this distasteful, and thus, I received an infraction.

If I perceive something to be incorrect or a falsehood, I am going to explain precisely why I hold that view.

It’s no different from how I feel when someone asserts that Jesus is not the Son of God; I simply believe in granting others the freedom of speech to express their views.
It appears this particular Muslim faction is acting with a clear bias.

A second, far more significant issue is the way this specific thread has been structured.
In this thread, we have several self-proclaimed experts on the Quran (who may or may not actually be experts) who, seemingly bolstered by a close friendship with rowdyhawk10, have taken it upon themselves to instruct and "inform" forum visitors about Islam. In doing so, they are effectively "missionaries"—yet they aren't getting hit with infractions, even though the entire premise of the thread seems designed for that very purpose.
As a user, if these individuals are presenting themselves as authorities with the power to intervene, I would be curious to know exactly what kind of authority they claim to have to "teach" others about Islam.

It sounds rather arrogant, doesn't it? To "teach" everyone else—but that is exactly how this thread is conceived.

Let me be clear: this is a FORUM. It is a place meant for the exchange of ideas, not a lecture hall where a handful of self-appointed experts peddle their wisdom through a Q&A format just to promote their own views—especially when dissenting opinions are not tolerated.

The opening of that topic reads as follows:
"In this thread, we, the Muslims of this forum, will answer questions about ISLAM.
The answers will follow the Hanafi school of law. If answers from other schools are given, they should be noted."
"Almighty Allah willed that we open this new thread; here is the link to the old one."
Notice that no professional credentials or official oversight are mentioned. And even if they were, a forum is a venue for debate—not a tool for 'missionary work' or religious promotion, which, in a stroke of pure absurdity, is exactly what I was flagged for.

To the owners and staff of this site: wake up.
If someone wants to build an informative propaganda portal, they should go ahead and do that, but they should probably learn the actual definition of the word "forum" first.

The definition of a forum is well known; I suppose I am just clarifying the specific rules of this forum for you. 🙂 You might want to check here under rule number 7 of our guidelines, which states:
  • Top-level threads regarding major world religions are intended to be spaces where followers of those faiths can discuss their beliefs in a civilized manner and answer questions from others. Consequently, these areas are specifically protected from provocation, proselytizing, arguments, and similar behavior. Please strive to remain particularly respectful in these sections.

This is a rule that you are expected to both understand and follow.

1. I have already explained the situation to you here. If you look at the bottom of that post, there is some text highlighted in blue. For the sake of everyone else following this thread, I will repeat it: In the "Religion" sub-forum, there are five special pinned threads dedicated to the major world religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and Hinduism), and they always stay at the top. In these threads, people from other faiths ask followers of the featured religion questions about their beliefs. These five topics aren't like any other standard thread; they are governed by SPECIAL rules. Specifically, you cannot enter the Islam 114 thread to promote Christianity, nor can a Muslim enter the pinned Christianity thread to promote Islam. We penalize that behavior. The thread "ISLAM 114 Questions and 114 Answers, Part II" is one of those five pinned threads. Its purpose isn't for you to spread Christianity or argue about the validity of the Prophet Muhammad—it is for you to ask about Islam and receive answers from us. I think I mentioned before that if you weren't satisfied with an answer, or if you felt our beliefs were incorrect, you could simply start your own thread to share your perspective on the Muslim faith. I would be the first to join that discussion, as would many other Muslims. But instead, you seemed quite intent on using this specific thread for proselytizing.🙄

2. Furthermore, I did not issue a penalty immediately; rather, I first attempted to politely direct you toward the rules. I explained everything and asked you—quite civilly, I might add—to refrain from Christian proselytizing in a pinned thread dedicated to Islam. You chose to ignore my explanations and my attempt to clarify the forum rules that apply to everyone, continuing with the same practice (Christian missionary work within the pinned thread, essentially trying to disprove Islam). It was only after that warning that you received a penalty. As I noted in the blue text earlier: if you wish to critique Islam, there are plenty of other threads on the forum for that, just not the Islam 114 thread, as that isn't its function. So, I suppose I am the one at fault now because you are protesting?

It would be appreciated if you would respect this explanation. Persisting in conflict isn't typically a trait of a believer (and you do claim to be one), so perhaps you could let me know that you understand and agree with what I am saying. I suppose it is up to you, but I believe my suggestion is made with good intentions. Best regards.

I'm interested as well. Though, I suppose it might be best if the poll were public to ensure some level of objectivity, given the potential for clones and such.

If I had happened to mention that Muhammad was merciful, that answer wouldn't have been considered off-topic in a hundred years.😁

Look, we moderators can't monitor every single thread every second of the day; we don't live on this site. Once we saw it, we stepped in. 🙂

Please, try not to be so tense about every individual post. I'd ask for a little understanding regarding our role here—it would be pure anarchy if we didn't occasionally delete or move things around. We aren't looking for trouble, nor are we aggressive, yet you're accusing me of deleting content because it goes against Islam, which simply isn't true; I am not that type of person. If I do make a mistake, please feel free to point it out; I would appreciate that. But in this instance, that isn't what happened. Best regards. 🙂

p.s. Please come back to the forum; it's not the same without you. I've made it clear that rowdyhawk10 was the one who asked the question (not me), and since that question was off-topic for your specific thread, it was moved to a more appropriate one where it fits. Given that, there really isn't a reason to boycott us in this case. If I mess up elsewhere, fine. But here, there is no issue.

And hey, Lisa Ortiz2, nobody ever actually said the post was offensive.
Maybe try reading with a bit more nuance next time?🙄
I really think we need a dedicated sub-forum just for Religion; that way, people can talk about faith without everyone jumping in to meddle—kind of like how those of us posting in the Religion section usually stay out of the Spirituality discussions.
Religion and spirituality are two different animals.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

We have already addressed the matter of spirituality. I suppose one has to wonder if a forum actually needs a subforum that functions like a church. I believe I explained this to cosmicseal5 previously—we simply cannot turn a religion subforum into a sanctuary within a digital space like this. www.catholics.org , I suppose this website might be worth looking into, though I can't say for certain what one might find there. It seems like just another corner of the internet. I suppose there isn't much more to say on the matter. www.orthodoxy.org Our subforum shouldn't be a place where atheists are penalized simply because they refuse to subscribe to a specific dogma. For instance, we shouldn't be banning someone just because they express doubt regarding the Quran, the Bible, or Jesus, or even various other deities. I think the forum should allow for free expression from every individual, provided they don't cross the line into personal attacks. In my opinion, we should probably apply stricter penalties when it comes to bringing discussions down to a personal level—like trolling or insults—specifically when it's the same person repeatedly doing it. That might actually solve a lot of our problems.

Lisa Ortiz2 said:It isn't just Nicole James; those folks are regularly tearing apart the religion sub-forum.😲
It’s worth noting that we aren't talking about a game or some scorekeeping here—for those who hold actual faith, this is life itself.
Not a single sub-forum is as aggressive or stifling as that one. It's become a dumping ground for everyone's personal frustrations.
There are probably entire sections of this site where I would never dream of posting... I simply stay away.🙂
What sort of void are they trying to fill by attacking religion?😁
The religion section is pure anarchy right now.
And that is precisely why I choose to remain silent there.👎

It isn't anarchy, Lisa Ortiz2.
If you only knew the sheer volume of work we deal with... being a moderator for the religion section means seeing firsthand just how much content we have to scrub, especially all those posts that start poking into other people's business. Personality. If there were less trolling and fewer outright insults, I suppose things might be a bit clearer. Furthermore, with my own... By remaining silent. I suppose you aren't going to actually solve anything by staying silent on the forum. It honestly surprises me that you’re being this stubborn about it. I mean, surely you realize it's better to just post and then deal with any fallout as it happens? Any post that breaks the rules can be reported, and since the moderation team has been beefed up, we should be able to get to every report eventually. However, we don't always see everything people write the very moment they post it. Most forum users... They aren't reporting it. I suppose these posts are somewhat unnecessary—though I should probably give credit where it's due to the few people actually reporting them. It does suggest they care about maintaining the quality of our forum, I guess. Regards.

Not quite, man. I didn't actually ask about the "Constitution of Medina"; it was unknown. 😢 Here it is. And honestly, that question was off-topic, just like your response to it. I wasn't really insisting on anything. I just noticed you were asking for a link from Nicole James. 🙂 I assume you're aware that there have been plenty of statements like the ones you're asking Nicole about (for instance, in the thread ISLAM - 114 questions, 114 answers). However, Nicole can't provide that link, as we had to delete it because it was promoting violence and terrorism.

If someone claims that killing those who leave Islam is justified, then—from the perspective of international charters regarding individual rights and freedom of religion, as well as American laws and the rules of this Reddit, it constitutes an ideology of violence and terror. If that ever becomes state law, it evolves into state terrorism (again, I'm speaking from the standpoint of international charters on individual rights and religious freedom, along with American laws and our Reddit rules).

Glorifying criminal regimes and celebrating violence is strictly sanctioned by the Religion forum rules (see point 9) and the general site rules. Neither I nor any other moderator will ever allow that to pass. 🤷

Maybe you should just ask your friend whose side you're taking: "should someone who leaves Islam be killed?"
Once you hear his answer, everything should become much clearer to you. Personally, I think I know what he'll say. 😉 Happy 2009 to everyone. 👋

I suppose I've gone through the trouble of moving four controversial posts to a thread where they actually belong.
The thread by unknown: The Life and Works of Prophet Muhammad. I assume that meets your requirements?
In a thread like that, discussing things like the Constitution of Medina or the persecution of Jews isn't off-topic at all. It doesn't bother me one bit.

coastalbison6 said:We need to get rid of rowdyhawk10 immediately. He’s just deleting posts whenever he feels like it, mostly because he can't handle anyone actually providing solid criticism regarding Islam.

The latest situation:
velvetranger5 asked where the Jews in Medina were during Muhammad's time, and my answer was:

Back then, three Jewish tribes lived in Yathrib (which was later renamed Medina); the Banu Nadir, the Banu Quariza, and the Banu Qainuga.
In 624, the Banu Nadir and Banu Qainuga tribes were forced to relocate to the Khaybar oasis.
In 627, when the Meccans (specifically the Quraysh tribe, which included Muhammad) laid siege to Medina, the Banu Quariza refused to help defend the city during the "Battle of the Trench." Following the battle, Muslims massacred all the men, and over 1,000 women and children were sold into slavery.

Then Jeffrey Sanchez7 chimed in with something like... "The Jews stabbed him (Muhammad) in the back, and now I'm being called a liar." $33 within the thread

And that's because the post sat there all day!!! So my response was:

I mean... they stabbed him in the back? How exactly did that "stabbing" look?

The issue was actually quite different. When Muhammad arrived in Medina in 622, he had nothing, so he and his followers survived by raiding caravans. The Banu Quariza clearly wasn't having any part of that, so they didn't feel bound by the Constitution of Medina.

Jeffrey Sanchez7,
I’d suggest sticking to actual historical facts.
If anyone else had used the word "Jew" in that context, rowdyhawk10 would have banned them for life.
Am I really $33 starting a whole new thread just for this little argument? 🤣 😁

Well, rowdyhawk10 went ahead and deleted everything right then!
Why? Because once Muslims run out of arguments, rowdyhawk10 steps in to scrub the evidence. It's been happening constantly over the last few weeks.
Muslims have already driven all the Jews out of the Religion sub-forum, and honestly, they were some of the best debaters we had.

rowdyhawk10 needs to be removed ASAP.

Look, man, I don't think you even know what you want in your own thread, which you started yourself. Initially, you opened this topic regarding holy scriptures in general (the previous title was something like "Torah-Septuagint-Vulgate-Luther Bible... all the way to the Quran") and the introductory post is here. Then, you expressed in this post a desire to focus strictly on the authenticity of the Quran, just to narrow the scope—since things were getting too broad after Steven Clark jumped in with his analyses of the Bible. I respected your wish and asked you here if you wanted me to change the thread title (I sent you a DM about it, too). You agreed here that I should update the title, so I changed it to "Is the Quran True and Authentic?", which you approved (you confirmed this via private message). So, as it stands, this thread is specifically about the Quran (for instance, how it was recorded and preserved, whether it underwent changes, its level of authenticity, etc.). But then... the discussion drifted off-topic with this post from velvetranger52, which was off-topic because he was asking "what is the Constitution of Medina." In responding to him, you steered the conversation away from the core subject (which was the authenticity of the Quran—your own rule), and began discussing historical events that have nothing to do with the primary topic. I only deleted the off-topic posts because they didn't belong here; I haven't handed out any warnings, even though the conversation veered off course. Velvetranger52 pulled it off-topic with his question, and then you all followed suit by discussing the Constitution of Medina, the persecution of Jews, and other matters outside the scope of how the Quran was written, canonized, and preserved. Should we really let threads just wander aimlessly like that? I ask you. 🙄

So, I would say your protest is entirely groundless and unjustified. ☕

Still, I suppose it’s fine that you started this petition, as it gives the other users a chance to weigh in. If a significant number of them aren't happy with my management, then honestly, it might be better if I stepped down. It's exhausting trying to please everyone. On one hand, some Muslims (plus Enky, who seems just as unsure of what they want as you are) accuse me of being too strict with Muslims—while on the other hand, you and Chris Edwards claim I'm being too lenient and that I am "biased," to quote you.

If I were running the show, some of the Muslims would likely be satisfied enough to end their boycott of this forum. I just hope that whoever takes over doesn't let people start posting nonsense like: "a Muslim woman who marries a Catholic is no longer Muslim" or claiming that in the 21st century, it is somehow religiously justified "to kill gays..." which, frankly, is pure hate speech. This forum really needs to deal with that once and for all to ensure civilized progress and stop such evil. Additionally, those non-Muslims who aren't fans of my style will finally get a break from my supposed "imposition of Islam". 🙄

I won't be commenting further on this thread, though I suppose anyone interested in my replacement should feel free to reach out. 👋

You guys just twist the words written in the holy books however you want—basically just bending them to fit whatever narrative suits you best at the moment.

Every coin's got two sides, you know? But you—it’s like you can only see your own side—the shiny one.

I'd love to see a link that actually backs up that claim above.

Honestly, watching from the sidelines, it’s just depressing how being above average intelligence gets treated like absolute bottom-tier trash—but also, man, the way people get banned? It's ridiculous. So much of it feels totally pointless, either because someone clearly didn't grasp what was actually written or they're just throwing out a ban hammer because they can't handle a different opinion. It's exhausting.

Fair enough. Now I suppose we should see if you provide links for your own claims as well. 🙄
Just passing through, I guess. 😉

That is a malicious falsehood and a total fabrication. The Jews left the sub-forum because of their own internal conflicts—specifically a nasty disagreement with a user named unknown—and actually, many people including myself have been calling for them to return. We’ve reached out through private messages and publicly quite often, much like here. Personally, I would certainly love to see them come back; even though we had some heated debates in the past, people mature and ought to forgive one another... if only for the sake of peace and better understanding, let alone mutual love and coexistence, which is what God calls all believers to practice. I actually stay in touch with some of them via phone. I especially think my dear friend unknown is a wonderful person. So, your claim simply doesn't hold water. 👎

I would appreciate it if one of them would step forward and debunk these insinuations of yours. 😢
I was just asking myself who the Devil would even be on this thread. 🙄
If, if... Not like I actually need this. 😁

Man, what can I even say... honestly, massive respect to you!!!

It would be absolutely incredible to actually pull this off—if there was even a way to make it happen. I’m talking about wiping the slate clean once and for all. No more warnings, no more temporary bans, and definitely no more permanent bans—unless, obviously, you're just spamming ads on Reddit. If someone can't handle whatever goes down, they can just hit that delete button and get lost. Period.

Finally, we’re actually gonna see the full spectrum. Everything's about to get colorful.

Look, let’s be real—if we actually let people talk about certain topics without any filters, freedom of speech would hit its absolute limit. And honestly? I don't even know if a "limit" like that even exists in the first place.

So, look, there’s this massive, glaring issue hanging over the whole thing—and I’m gonna lay it out as a question for you. Since you’ve clearly spent way too much time obsessing over this beautiful little idea, maybe—just maybe—you actually have an answer.

So, how do you actually fix the whole mess of nationalism, religious fanatics, dealers, creeps, and all those other "honorable" citizens? Honestly, it feels like trying to plug holes in a sinking ship with pieces of gum. You’ve got people obsessed with their borders and flags, zealots who think they have a direct line to God, and then the absolute bottom-feeders—the pushers and the predators—just running around like they own the place. It’s a goddamn circus. There isn't one magic button you can press to make society stop being a dumpster fire, but man, if we could just get everyone to chill out and stop acting like their specific group is the only one that matters, we might actually stand a chance. But hey, that's probably asking too much from this world, right? 🙄😁 Think about all the absolute characters in this modern society of ours—the kind of people who would definitely crawl out from under their rocks if everyone was allowed to moderate their own threads. ☕

@Jeremy Diaz9,
Honestly, I don't care what anyone thinks—actually, scratch that, I love it when people disagree with me. Like, seriously, give me all the contrarians you've got. It’s way more entertaining when everyone isn't just nodding along like mindless drones; things get way more interesting when there's actually some friction in the room.
Not you? Seriously?
Whatever, whatever—I actually ended up reading that greeting from that legendary permanently banned user, Krule. 😍)

I believe I addressed how to handle those specific issues in my previous post.
There would be supervisors in place to prevent inappropriate topics from surfacing. 🙂

Jeremy Diaz9, regarding this... it is actually quite useful to see people's true colors.
Not all threads would turn out that way... I think you're mistaken. Not everyone is prone to being a sycophant. 🙂
I have been dwelling on this particular idea for quite some time—actually, for years now—that every user should automatically act as the moderator for any thread they personally initiate. Essentially, if we could configure a script so that the thread starter is also its editor by default, they would be responsible for editing and removing insults or any content that disturbs the flow of their topic or steers it in an undesirable direction... In this scenario, Kenneth Peterson5 would manage their own thread, Dervish would lead theirs, Satori would guide theirs, steelskipper5 would handle theirs... and so on.

What would be the outcome here? I suppose the threads that actually gain traction would be those where the starter knows how to steer and direct the conversation effectively. Conversely, those threads where the starter lacks the ability to lead or proves themselves to be somewhat immature would likely be ignored by participants, meaning people simply wouldn't engage with them. It would function as a sort of supervisor system within the subforum, where someone would only need to step in to prevent trolling threads and similar issues. Kenneth Peterson5, what are your thoughts on this? 🙂 And what about the rest of you? 🙂

I actually went down to the police station with everything printed out—all the proof of what he did. The detective was actually pretty decent about it; he listened to me like a normal human being, though he seemed almost shocked that stuff like this even happens. I was like 99% sure I knew exactly who he was (full name and everything), but I asked them for official confirmation first so I could potentially go after him privately too.
The thing is, our legal system hadn't really accounted for anonymous threats sent via email (the guy barely understood how the internet or email worked, to be honest), so he ended up calling the District Attorney's office and pointing me toward them.
I handed all my paperwork over to a friend of mine who works there... and I haven't heard a peep in six months. Not that I went chasing them for updates or anything, but the jerk finally backed off from me and a bunch of other women on those forums. Honestly, I think he’s probably still sitting there waiting for someone to eventually knock on his door. 👍

If you're still lurking around here, hey, stay safe, crazy. 😉

Go ahead and keep playing games. 😲 You know better than to mess around with fools, right? 🙄

Look, at the end of the day... I’m actually glad you noticed that Scott Nguyen2 is finally stepping up and getting involved now—especially since he wouldn't say a single word fifteen days ago when everyone was throwing insults around. You hit the nail on the head with your question: where was he back then to call out the injustice and all the garbage being spewed by his "friends"? Where was he to criticize—even just symbolically—those people writing such nonsense? And then he goes and says he "doesn't want to get involved"... wow, you really caught onto that one! I actually told him in my last post: Simona figured out years ago how shady that kind of behavior is. It's the exact same thing here, and he even went out of his way to say, "Sunnah, don't give up." You totally spotted that too—he’s clearly just trying not to "offend" certain users, specifically the majority he's now desperately protesting against.

Man, there is just so much drama being stirred up here. It's all getting a bit too low-level. Once upon a time (since we're so obsessed with bringing up the past), I got carried away myself and mentioned the Sandook area in a bad light—and honestly, that’s the only thing I truly regret saying. At the end of the day, brothers are brothers, no matter what kind of person you turn out to be.
Look at us—mashallah—Salafis, Sufis, and followers of different schools all standing together in the same line. Isn't it wild how God works? Let that be an example for us. Isn't His name the Gatherer? My heart would be so full if I could just happily grab a coffee sometime—without all this second-guessing—with C&B, Koby, Bradley Davis33, Dervish, boldgull19, FMN Alem, Jack Wood43, Sunnah, the Charlatan, wearyhawk222, and the rest of you (forgive me if I missed anyone!), just to sit and have a real conversation🙂. There’s just too little time in this life to waste it on hatred and living in bitterness.

I can't really speak for "myself"—that feels ungrateful. I'd rather people criticize me than have someone praise me, because honestly, I'm pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of all this. I'm not forcing anyone to do anything, nor am I asking them to "defend" me or, heaven forbid, "follow" me... let alone anything more serious than that. May God allow it so that when we give, it's done so quietly that the left hand doesn't even know what the right hand is doing. Amen!

_____________________

Regarding your moderation duties, that’s been entrusted to you by His will. You are the one whom God gave the authority (the power on this Reddit) to grant rights to others. Those "others" are the ones seeking the justice that you are meant to provide, which is a right God gave to you in your role as a moderator. What is the point of having rights if they only serve those who already hold power? That makes no sense. If someone in power starts demanding their own "rights," just know they're getting caught up in worldly interests, and that "authority" becomes a test—or even a reason for their downfall. Why should a "ruler" demand rights from their subordinates? Doesn't he already have them? Aren't rights there specifically for the disempowered and the wronged? Like I said, generally speaking, rights are sought by those who lack them, and for God's sake, those who *do* have power are obligated to grant them in His name, because that power was given to them as a trust from Him—and isn't His name the Lord?
Anyway, it's tough on whoever gets power and refuses to pass it on to those searching for it. That person is nothing but a nuisance and a source of chaos, and they clearly don't know how to judge fairly.
But God is just, so He will recognize the good you do in your moderation. It is definitely a good thing that you stood up to defend the sisters, especially sister Sunnah🙂. God rewards abundantly🙂, and God will eventually remove everything that stands in the way of "justice" reaching those who seek it, even if none of us ever post on this forum again.

Anyway, I’m rambling a bit, but I see the good in all of this. To me, it's truly a blessing to be in the same line as the Salafis, the Sufis, and the various schools of thought (the Shia aren't on the forum right now, but they're always welcome).🙂 , Mashallah, we wouldn't have even gotten this far—God willing—if you hadn't gone and united us all with your absolutely twisted way of moderating. Mashallah, God works in mysterious ways...

Anyway, my boycott is still going strong, and honestly—take a look around (it's like "us" barely exists on Reddit anymore, at least not the old crew)—just look at what you've done to this place. This whole thing has turned into nothing but a sub-forum for Religion, and god knows what it’s turning into now. If you can't see that—and if God has truly blinded you to the reality of how things look—then I guess there's some kind of lesson in it, I suppose...

Peace be upon you

1. I'm not ignoring the forum; you are. I am still posting here.

2. It should be perfectly clear to you (and to Dervish too) that users have every right to complain when they feel wronged by unfair moderation. After all, there is an entire subforum dedicated to this, right here: Complaints and Grievances isn't there?

3. Because of that, you didn't need to boycott the Religion section (which feels like a childish tantrum); you could have just kept posting while simultaneously putting pressure on the complaints section regarding my mistakes. Nobody ever stopped you from doing that.

4. Furthermore, the administration isn't blind to moderator injustice when it happens. They might be slow sometimes, but they do step in frequently to correct us moderators, and occasionally even replace us. So, this behavior seems to me like nothing more than the kind of tantrum you'd see in a preschool.

5. Looking at those four points, it’s pretty obvious—you guys have likely run out of ideas. The weight of responsibility has exhausted you. It's hard to endure having to tell someone they are a spiritual killer of their child, or a sinner, or a homosexual. Perhaps you were just intimidated by the proximity and brightness of success, now that people are actually starting to love Islam.

6. I don't find anyone's boycott joyful, and I actually feel bad about all this. But I imagine you and a few other lobbyists (like Jason) are certainly enjoying this and getting a bit carried away... otherwise, you wouldn't be doing this, and you would realize that Islam is more important than any single individual, even if the person in the moderator seat were Yazid himself. There have been those who dealt with him and still came out proud.

Therefore, Scott Nguyen2, you are only here for one reason—to lobby, as Bradley Davis33 put it in a gentler way—for a specific clique. And here is why:

7. YOU are boycotting the forum for a completely irrelevant reason because you aren't even complaining about anything where my moderation personally affected you! Have you ever been personally wronged here? Has my moderation ever caused you injustice? Of course not. If it has, tell me when and where (though you won't; you'll probably just moan about how "it hurts to see injustice toward the brothers, so you feel obligated...").

8. This is quite important: you are just like the others lobbying here. In fact, it’s becoming almost tragicomic. Just as you are lobbying for members of the "modern Salafi movement," like this little crony here , Dervish is complaining about the FMN forum users—then Kenneth Peterson5 complains about the Black-white group that likes to post in Sandjak cities—then boldgull19 complains about Dervish (my apologies to him, if he cares, for mentioning it). Yet none of them can point to a single instance where my moderation personally inflicted injustice upon them! How is that possible?

That's all I have to say, and I am definitely stepping out of this thread, unless one of the admins decides to step in. You all feel free to continue in unison... as far as I'm concerned, I'm done with this topic. I'm just sorry that Jack Wood43 hasn't joined in yet to tell me I'm a homosexual, just so the group feels complete.. 👋

.

p.s. - Regarding what was said above, perhaps I shouldn't even bother commenting, but for the sake of being clear... that Salam you tacked onto the end of your post (after all that vitriol preceding it) feels a bit like hanging a Mona Lisa in a restroom. It smells pretty bad when packaged with that kind of disparagement.

Similarly, I’m not accepting your "compliment" about me standing up for the sister following the Sunnah. I don't need her; she has God. And God surely loves her, whereas He doesn't love those who have hurt her (unless they apologize to her personally and directly). The housewife will find her courage, but I'm not so sure about Dervish.

The sense of unity you're talking about, Scott Nguyen2, is fake. If I weren't a moderator tomorrow, you guys would probably tear each other apart on this Reddit in a couple of months over something trivial. You'll be fighting with someone who enjoys attacking people, or some similar "member of a modern Salaf movement," lol. But, as Bradley Davis33 says, there won't be any rowdyhawk10 around then to defend your wounded feelings from those fanatics. Just take it easy.

From my perspective—within the context of this specific thread—your unity is built on a shared neurosis because I wouldn't allow anyone to insult anyone else; and because I didn't let anyone use the senseless arguments of dead men to satirize the living! By that, I mean the deceased individual who politically perverted Quranic Verse 4.141, which, according to the reasons for its publication, referred to the polytheists of Mecca rather than marriage. As for the brothers from FMN and Dervish, they are essentially "lost Sufis" who enjoy...

"offering prayers for the dead at their graves," isn't that right, brothers CB and Jason?! 🤣

Man, Dervish... he's become forgettable. Unlike you, Scott Nguyen2. I told him via DM not too long ago: Calm down, because a day will come when you'll make fools of yourselves because of what you're doing now. And then you'll wish for rowdyhawk10, even if he were rising from the mud.

It's obvious. You've been united by your own lack of direction rather than the malice of one man (anyone with eyes can look at points two, three, and four above). And as for those who want to sleep—let them sleep! Life certainly won't stay asleep forever. I'm heading out. You can either wake up, return to the forum, and move past this childishness, or just keep sleeping.
